The Bezan thing will go away quickly, because it was relatively minor. Just another example of how we need a full-body-off restoration of our culture. Things have to change...the way we speak has to change. The way we think has to change. It's been too wrong for too long. If it means we're "too PC" right now, then so be it....it's better than the other way.

Louie DeBrusk is outstanding...shame he only does national games. The best 1-2 punch in the game is Cuthbert/Ferraro....there's nothing better in hockey, anywhere, period. Shame they only get to call regional games.

If there's a truly better option (than RH), then I'm all for it, but whatever....unless Steinauer is coming back (not likely), then we may as well stay with Richie and see if he can adjust. I feel like we adjusted for the run game nicely after that was a huge problem. Maybe this year we can adjust for the passing game too?

and I think there's a difference between being an insider, with knowledge of the "business" of hockey (Friedman) and being an analyst of the game, which is where you always defer to people who played it. All of this sexist nonsense about Cassie Campbell not doing Flames games because she's married to the AGM......I don't give two shits who she's married to, or that she's a woman.......my only issue with her ever, has been that she never played NHL hockey, and there should never be a pro hockey analyst that never played in the NHL.......just as an example of needing that specific insight.

I should have phrased it better.....one's opinion is always worth something......it's just that an opinion based only on watching/studying isn't worth AS MUCH as the opinion that comes from experience in the room and in the game. Journalists know lots, but the least ignorant among them will be the first to tell you that they'll never know as much as someone who's been there. You'd never get it from the arrogant asshats in Toronto, but a guy like Elliot Friedman will always defer to Kelly Hrudey, just as an example...

One's opinion doesn't mean **** if you've never been there. People can have a lot of knowledge about hockey by watching it, but you'll never know as much as someone who's been in the room and played the game.

If they're canned that quickly, you KNOW there's a lot more than the public knows. It's about damned time society started changing...

I couldn't be happier for a guy like Hutch. He's been through some ****. If he manages to find his game again and resurrect his career in the bigs, that'd be a hell of a story.
