I don't know why we keep having this discussion... 2019 Matt Nichols was outstanding until he got blindside pancaked after the whistle. We were 6-2 under him and he gets hurt in the 7th win in Week 10 which put us at 7-2. He was having an incredible season before he got hurt. Also... This man continues to be absolute loony tunes.

Right... We know that.... But since they'd already decided to go NI DT, I'm just saying that I think last year would have been primarily Lawson with only a little bit of Thomas. It didn't help that Schmeckle was not ready. I'm sincerely hopeful that Lawson is going to take the VAST majority of NI DT snaps, regardless of whether we need to go Canadian there or not...

I'm not 100% sure on that. The only reason he played as much as he did last year was because Lawson went down. Otherwise he woulda been WAY less reps...

Here's the thing tho.... I get that Osh is a lunatic for his vets. But why is Walters caving here and not putting his foot down. That's what I don't get.

Ya... Listen... I defend our management to the death.... But I can't defend this. It's inexcusable. Even if you say that Lawson is going to take the bulk of the reps or whatever....what's the point of even bringing him to camp at this point? It's a waste of roster spot and if there was even a penny of guaranteed money, then it's a waste.

I'm going to wait and see if there's $$ mentioned anywhere. That's important in terms of these signings. Everyone wants to see the most talented roster take the field, and hopefully these guys are near league minimum just to be transitional pieces and help bring along the next gen.

Tyrel... But yes. We absolutely can find a cheap American to play that spot (Walters regime is littered with quality DBs) but it's all about how you want to use your roster. Based on how this team finds DBs, I'm not sure that breaking the bank for a NI one is that important.... Certainly not as important as re-signing a local kid who is the best in the league at his position, regardless of nationality.

Seems more likely just a sign of Sunderland being with us now...
