On the curling topic, I'm honestly most excited about Kerri Einarson's new team for next year, with Val Sweeting at 3rd, Shannon Birchard at 2nd and Breanne Meilleur at lead. All are skips so I'm not sure how sweeping is gonna go, but on paper that's the best team on tour next year, possibly....

She coulda played in jeans and street shoes and made playoffs with 3 others found in the Patch....

They make me laugh, because analytics nerds are just that... Nerds.... Desperately wanted to be cool sports guys, but sucked at sports, so here's their way to contribute.... Analytics are all fine and good as something to talk about but it's not as important as some want to make it out to be. It's just one extra tool... Set of information... To use in among everything else that already exists.

I will never ever understand the idea that Shane Hindy was a good colour analyst. The list of good analysts begins and ends with Ray Ferraro. Everyone else is shades of "I understand the game, but I no communicate so good..."

Two semi interesting league notes today... -ESPN apparently is really pushing the CFL to move the schedule up even further into spring, I assume so it overlaps less with their primary concern, the NFL. -The league will be announcing 10 neg list names for each team later today. Why this is of any concern, I have no idea, but they seem to think it's a big deal....

It isn't so much about what we'll go after as WHEN we'll go after them. Gonna take an OL but will it be R1 or R2? And these rankings are always bunkum until we know who's going to the States and will never see the CFL...

I love the kid... Have known him his whole life...... But he's never played a second of organized hockey. Great writer, but I am not a fan of people who've never played the game, at any level, telling me what's up...

Demski gotta stay healthy, LaFrance hasn't proved much and might not play much, Durant HOPEFULLY won't play much....and Bowman COULD play well and do a lot, but he's also coming off an injury, and you don't know how much he has left in the tank. There's a lotta "Well, maybe...if everything goes right..." rather than sure things.....and we lost some guys who we know are sure things. So, I'm just saying "I'm not sure" we're better.....

While I'm not sure we're any better today than we were at the end of last year, I'm pretty confident we're no worse....soooo.....there's that.
