  1. I worked an awful lot of overtime since January 1. I told everyone who paid me that they could just make the cheque out to Mr Miller, but whatever...I'll take the circuitous route
  2. that was exactly my first thought. It seems like something only the players should wear....
  3. $375........ ai yi yi. Giant no thanks...... I'm coming home in a couple weeks and will definitely be spending a schwack of cash at the Bombers Store, but that's just crazy.

king of the circus shot... has always favoured the angle-run-triple for 1 over a draw for 2 -kinda thing. More important than the shot itself, here, is the line call by both Gunner and Alex....
  5. When the Oilers do a solid for the Jets or vice versa, I'm a happy camper. If not for Brett Kissel going full Keith Urban on the broadcast tonight, it would have been a perfect night...
  6. I'll be honest, I was against any change just because I'm an old man and hate change by nature, but I'm really interested in this rugby explanation, which makes sense. I'm all about preserving the heritage, and this seems like as good a reason as any.
  7. this makes a very very good point...

But what I was talking about was the actual state of our Men's division in Manitoba....which is the shits right now. Gunner is a very good Manitoba Curling Tour team, and a below average WCT team. Mike and Reider are the only semi-legit WCT team that we have curling out of Manitoba. Yes, we are producing all the good curlers as we have for generations, but sadly they go elsewhere. Dunstone is the best men's curler we've produced in decades and he did the most sickening thing possible.......he went to Saskatchewan. Makes my stomach turn...
  9. Glad both they and the wheaties made it and hopefully they'll have some games out west here for us to go watch...

I don't think Gunner is smart enough that I'd want him on my team in any capacity. He and Reider are friends tho and Gunner threw 3rd for him in 06. What I want to see is Dunstone come home and play with Mike and Reid. I'd like to see Denni at lead, but Samagalski would be okay too.
  11. Mentioned about two pages ago in this thread....
  12. I'd be shocked if Ambrosie didn't have this in mind... Big picture. Makes too much sense.
  13. ?? Adamant...?
  14. it's a particularly un-Canadian thing to do...

Thank Christ and everything holy, Mike McEwen won the Wild Card play in game and will play this week at the Brier. Manitoba's men's division is as bad right now as its ever been, so we need two teams to give ourselves a chance this week. (spoiler: neither has a chance against the best teams.)
  16. This isn't the one I referenced, but it is *A* interesting oral history, anyhow... https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/greatest-games-the-golden-goal-no-5-international-game
  17. Honestly, if it's us, I'm not even mad. Whatever it took to win the cup was 100% worth any penalties we might incur...
  18. I'm not a Crosby fan at all, but I remember reading a sort of "oral history" thing about that game, and Ryan Miller (USA tender) talking about what messed him up for that goal. He said most guys will look up after taking the pass and pick their spot, but Crosby never looked up. He took the pass and knew exactly where was going with it without needing to look at the target. Said there's less than a handful of people in the world who could have done that. What I remember most about that game, aside from the incredible party we had, was Toews scoring the opening goal of the game. So much hustle from him in that entire Olys...he had a MASSIVE 2010 year, that guy.
  19. Twitter is the one social medium that I'm a fan of.....FB/Insta and anything else can rot in hell
  20. Darren Cameron said mid April on Twitter this morning.
  21. Wade talked about this on OB the other night....unbelievably jacked. Getting a STH buddy of mine to take advantage of the early pre-buy window for single game tix and get me a couple. Can't imagine missing this....what a night it's going to be!
  22. I think EVERYONE is on board with this..... everything I've read online suggests people like this. The whole "1st picks opponent" thing was Wade's idea, and he's really beating the drum for it, but I can't see it ever being a thing. This idea that we need a circus to draw attention goes against everything I believe in as a Canadian. Just be cool, man....keep it low key.
  23. Well, he asked Collaros about Tasker, anyhow....Collaros said he's put the bug in Walters ear about it. Really likes Tasker and thinks he'd be a fit. I say no thanks unless it's league minimum and he's only coming in to fight for a job.
  24. Sask being ranked 3rd early on is insanity. That team could just as easily be a 5 win team this year...
  25. Another thing that's important, the greatest reporters don't give out all the info they have. You build credibility and trust with the organization by keeping a lot of things under your hat. Being in a rush to be the first guy to give out info you're not supposed to (injury and money stuff) is a quick way to getting yourself blackballed by the team. When the team has exciting stuff coming and they wanna leak info, the first guy they'll go to is the guy they trust.
