  1. We'll see what shakes down, but I couldn't be happier to see both Ottawa and Detroit choke on a bag of dicks last night. I can't stand both of those franchises and didn't want either of them to get Lafreniere. Seems there's still a good shot Montreal gets him and that would suck, too, but I'll cross that bridge later....
  2. I know I'm late to the party, but I've found myself off work for a bit and I've been bingeing Hank Azaria's Brockmire. Really enjoying it for the most part. Some of the hardcore "partying" is a little intense for me, but all of the baseball stuff and cameos from some legendary broadcasters is pretty great. Quite a few LOL moments...
  3. I've said all along, while I understand all the reasons they're (all sports leagues) trying to get going, it just doesn't seem worth it to me. Just ******* lock it all down until this time next year and see where we're at.
  4. I'm pretty vocal about my dislike of all DC movies since Nolan's Batman Trilogy, but holy cow do I love the idea of Keaton coming back as some sort of Fury-like advisor. Now, for me, Christian Bale is my Batman, but I still feel like this is a good move and there's a lot they could do with this...
  5. God, I miss TC. I've only been a couple of times, but the best one, by far, was the year the Women's World Cup was on, so TC was moved over to the field next to IGF. @17to85 and I road-tripped it out from Calgary to spend a couple days at camp. A hell of a time. All the fans could come and sit right on the sidelines and watch. All the media folks were there...I remember Bob Irving playing with his granddaughter for a bit during it.....I remember Wade Miller coming out and announcing that they'd brought in hot dog carts and it was free food for everyone. Dave was wearing his Doug Brown jersey, and it was the year that Ivan Brown was trying to make the team, and was also going to be wearing 97, so he was yelling at Dave about the jersey....and I think he said something about how it was nice that he wouldn't even have to change the nameplate. Ha ha. Ray was there with his Feoli-Gudino jersey cheering on his boy. Man, that was a great time...
  6. This was really interesting to me: One source described how the CFL operates: “Ambrosie, Scott Mitchell and Wade Miller run the league. Presidents in the CFL are not accountable. Where are they in all this? How come their salaries are not disclosed?”
  7. all those CFL games TSN shows on Friday nights and I've seen exactly 2 Bombers wins. The GC win and the Milt TD record game. Fart noises....need more Bombers wins on TSN.
  8. if Hammy put up 30 points, I'm thinking the D wasn't anything to write home about......
  9. Going to resurrect this, as the CFL regular season would have started this weekend. Last night would have been the first games of the season on TSN.... Ed Tait does a great job putting into words what a lot of us are feeling right now, trying to understand a summer without CFL football: https://www.bluebombers.com/2020/06/12/first-10-column-reflecting-season-opener/
  10. Pretty sure if you give Jason Kenney a couple drinks, he'll tell you all about it...
  11. ...Even when it was da beaass, I knew it was dem...
  12. That's actually not as much as I was expecting.... That seems reasonable when you factor in all the stuff this thing can do.
  13. Never mind Woogie....poor Petey stuck on the PR. That guy could really be something on pretty much any other team's offense...
  14. fwiw, I'm a really big fan of Rasheed Bailey and Kenny Lawler. I know we've said it before, but I think both of those guys could really be something.
  15. Yeah, I'm an active member on a couple of fishing messageboards, and this has been a thing. The mayor of Kenora had to make an impassioned plea to residents, via the local newspaper, to leave Manitobans alone, because they're bringing much needed money into the local economy. Guess there's a long standing feud between locals and "Those 'Tobans" who come in and "take over" during the summer months, but it's really increased because of the fear of COVID coming from Wpg into Kenora.
  16. all I can think is "man, how much is THAT gonna cost....?"
  17. Big news from the MB presser on Phase 3 today, which would potentially launch June 21st.... Outdoor gatherings go from 50 people to 100, and residents of Western Canada and Northwest Ontario would no longer need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering the province. Great news for those of us hoping to come home this summer...
  18. Didn't they already announce that Sask was over the cap? Or am I just thinking of the fact that they lost a ****-ton of money last year......?
  19. Not ENOUGH people would pay it, is the issue. Diehards? Absolutely. But you wouldn't get enough to make it work.
  20. re: First Nations cases..... not sure if Iso meant the Siksika First Nation east of Calgary, which did have a minor outbreak, but they had a COVID Management Team in the community from Day 1 with their own testing site and everything, and it was snuffed out relatively quickly....or is my understanding from the daily Dr Hinshaw pressers....
  21. I first heard about the Adopt-A-Team model from a Naylor tweet a few weeks ago and thought it was fantastic at the time, and like it more and more all the time. I'm not sure if it would work financially for everyone, but it seems like the best possible scenario...
  22. https://www.cfl.ca/2020/06/09/tsn-announces-weekly-show-cfl2020-airing-fridays-tsn/ TORONTO — TSN is set to launch the new weekly show, CFL2020, discussing the latest news from around the Canadian Football League. CFL2020 airs Fridays at 7:30 p.m. ET beginning this Friday, June 12, ahead of TSN’s weekly CFL ENCORE FRIDAYS.
