that game is toast...they can't possibly play a game on Monday with zero real practices so far. I like Lalji's suggestion about pushing it to Friday.

both sides are to blame...it's ridiculous to think otherwise. The owners, however, are the ones who walked away from the table when the players were willing to still talk. Thankfully, according to Naylor reports, there appears to have been a much needed "cooling off period", and the arbitrator was able to get them to communicate yesterday. No word yet on whether they're officially "back to the table" or not. Everyone still seems to think they'll have a MoU ironed out by the end of the week.

Vegas is closer to winning a Cup, is what I've read, as for the Why. Also a possible connection/relationship between McCrimmon and Trotz. Having said that, STL beat reporter says Jets and Trotz the most likely outcome, for whatever that's worth.

Friedman says Vegas most likely to get him, but Philly will make a big push, too. Gotta think Winnipeg is back of the pack for destinations, unless there's some weird reason that he wants to be closer to Dauphin, but I can't imagine that would have much bearing.

Actually all of this has been discredited.. the AB players only filed on Monday, so they can't legally strike til Thursday. They'll officially go on strike then...

someone mentioned earlier that TSN would step in at some point and bust some heads, and that is an interesting thought. The radio broadcasters, too, have money invested in this thing and don't want to see games (even pre season games) cancelled. So they'll have something to say. I'm still betting that this thing gets sorted by the end of the week, but I'd call the game vs Sask on Monday "unlikely" at this point...

Vegas is Manitoba South. You know Kelly McCrimmon wants Trotzy and they'll have the highest bid. It's gonna come down to where he wants to be.

Oettinger deserved a better fate. Dallas was down too many skaters and just got run outta the rink. Home ice advantage will be everything in the next series so look for Calgary in 6 or 7.

I keep thinking that Ambrosie is creating the same kind of heat Bettman does, so maybe Ambrosie is actually a genius and doing his job really well...? Because we all despise Bettman but he is beloved by the NHL owners. Ambrosie is just the figurehead for Miller/Mitchell.
