  1. All this after he says he knew the team sucked from game 2.... maybe the guys who packed it in were just following his lead.
  2. Buh bye Pat DelMonaco. Start packing your bags. The interim boss ain't impressed. well based on the complete bag of **** and lack of improvement by anyone on the offensive line in his time here good riddance.
  3. Would Dunigan be THAT bad as a GM though? The stamps did bring in some quality people while he was there, I think Dunigans biggest failing in Calgary was taking on too many roles (GM, HC, OC, probably qb coach as well) and having to deal with an owner who basically bought a team so his son could play qb.
  4. Been saying it for a while, Burke is the worst head coach I have ever seen on this team and that includes such fools as Kelly, Daley and Reinbold.
  5. And when you compare those numbers to Lapos you realize just how bad Burke really is cause they were dealing with a lot of the same things when it comes to the roster and GM who built that roster. This isn't about talent right now, it's about a coach that is truly inept.
  6. Joey Elliott still played better than Hall did. yeah that 52-0 loss to the Riders was a great example of that too... Give it up already... Only when everyone else starts looking at things objectively. Was Halls 37-7 loss to Hamilton that much worse than that Labour day game? The #1 issue with this team since Lapo was fired is that guys haven't gotten the help they need. Bellefool helped with some guys on offense, Hall was one, but even he ain't that great of a coach. We get some better coaching for this team and a lot of guys will look a hell of a lot better. Elliott had the highest highs of any qb lately but the coaches refused to work on making him better they just tossed him aside cause of some problems. They did the same to Goltz after being so quick to throw him into the fire. Fix the coaching and you fix a lot of the problems with this team.
  7. Joey Elliott still played better than Hall did. Higher peaks, lower valleys but even as a major Elliott guy I'd say Hall is more consistent. well do we put a factor in there for Crowton or not? Cause Hall didn't do **** all until well after Crowton was gone. The problem for both of them was a propensity to turn the ball over, to me Elliott was better at his best and that makes a big difference cause Hall had some pretty damned low lows himself.
  8. Real ominous feeling. There's enough issues cropped up with Burke that I don't think he could get any amount of talent to win. Someone said somewhere here that Burke would probably have a losing record with the 2001 team, I think I agree with that. Some coaches just don't get as much as possible out of players and Burke is very obviously one of those guys.
  9. buying tickets isn't an option for me but I haven't even ordered anything from the Bomber Store this year and I always end up buying something but this year I just can't do it. As soon as they kick Burke to the curb though I'll probably put an order in.
  10. Joey Elliott still played better than Hall did.
  11. I love that you rip him for this line while also ripping him for throwing guys under the bus. but doesn't that show just how stupid Burke is? One minute he's pumping guys tires like crazy the next he's flat out saying they suck. Burke has no clue and all he's done since Joe Mack was fired is talk about how there's not enough talent here while doing nothing to make the talent that is there better. He's been making excuses to try and save his own skin for so long I'm sick and tired of it and his loser attitude needs to GTFO as soon as possible. Then rip him for one or the other. There's enough of a body of work to show he doesn't deserve to hold on to the HC job. When you rip him for zigging and then rip him for zagging it looks like unsubstantiated hate. Burke has lost enough battles that he doesn't need to be put into a no-win situation to suggest that he be fired. Also, it isn't one minute he's doing one thing and the next he's doing another. You're comparing the quotes from when the Bombers were an 0-0 team tied for first in the east with a healthy Buck Pierce vs. a quote from after a 37-7 loss that cemented the worst record in franchise history. Yeah, of course his thoughts on the state of the team are gonna be different. Or should we all start judging each other for things we said in the past about the Bombers? Because there's some opinions from some people here who look down on Burke that turned out to be spectacularly wrong, myself included (IMWT, Ray is old and overrated, et al.). But I'm not contradicting anything here, only pointing out how clueless and two faced Burke is. It's all one and the same problem. He talks about guys being good and when they make mistakes rather than helping them get better he just completely tosses them under the bus. Or are you having trouble understanding the point here? The entire point is that Burke is clueless about what he's got here and then once it becomes clear that he was wrong he turns around and looks for someone to blame other than himself.
  12. There were enough red flags when Burke took over last year that he never should have got the gig full time, the fact that he wasn't fired immediately after the season ended just leads everyone to keep believing that this team doesn't know it's ass from a hole in the ground. Regardless of whether or not the team is talented enough we all know that Burke is not head coaching material.

  14. ridiculous, they can remove the acting from Millers titles in a heart beat, and you don't need a new GM to fire a coach because a new GM is going to want to bring in his own coach anyway and that won't be Burke. Just fire him already.
  15. anything Burke says should be immediately discredited simply because of how foolish he's come across about everything during the last 2 seasons. Remember last offseason when he was talking about how good Pierce was and how much upside Goltz had? Guy has no idea how to run a team and I want no part of him helping at all for anything going forward. The absolute biggest mistake they could make would be to retain Burke for one more year.
  16. most of the "mack didn't listen to walters" stuff comes from the fact that Mulumba is in the NFL and Edem is in the CFL, does that make one pick better than the other necessarily? It seems to me that there was a belief amongst the Bombers management that Mulumba wouldn't really stick in the NFL so they took a gamble on that.
  17. The level of poor decisions regarding roster management this year should automatically disqualify Burke from giving opinions. Just fire the guy before he does any more harm to the team.
  18. why isn't the decision on Burke already made? After over a year of the team getting their asses handed to them week in and week out don't they realize how useless he is?
  19. Bombers are trying to get their money’s worth out of him. They want to pick his brain on his evaluation of players, in preparation for the expansion draft. Fans might not like it, but that’s actually a smart move to keep him around for a few more weeks. We’re paying him anyways, may as well get our money’s worth. It's not a smart move at all. Why do we care what Tim Burke thinks of our roster if he's not going to be here? We've seen Burkes evaluation of players for a year and a half now and quite frankly his ability to do that sucks.
  20. yeah I think Reeds reputation took a big hit during his time in Edmonton, I think there are other options.
  21. Winnipeggers just love to complain about something.
  22. Wow, there's a good measure of how messed up this season has been; we've been so bad this year that by the end of the season 17to85 had a kind word for Mike Kelly. Tim Burke is so bad as a head coach it makes me wish we still had Mike Kelly.... it's a damned terrifying thought.
  23. I find this excuse hard to swallow. The bombers actually have a lot of vets in the secondary, who have played together for quite a few years now. The only rookie I can think of that got any significant playing time was Markett, and he usually was not starting. Cauchy has been in the league for 4 years. The newest personnel on defense among the DBs/LBs are Washington, Dunn and Wild, and I think they were actually among the better performers in this group. I'm not familiar enough with the secondaries of the other 7 teams to be certain, but find it hard to believe that the Bomber are particular laden with rookies by CFL standards. Yeah the defense is actually pretty veteran, especially the secondary which is the biggest trouble spot on that unit. Hell a lot of time the rookies are the guys playing the best which is to me further proof to what a lot of people have been saying this year, that the coaching staff on this team actually makes players worse the longer they are exposed to them. I just can't buy the rookie excuse because there are enough players around here who have been in the league for a few years that it shouldn't be an excuse. This team is struggling in a lot of cases because people who should be better aren't playing up to the level they should be. That includes on Simpson for most of the year, Edwards, Demark until a couple weeks ago, Matthews before he got hurt. Watson, Honestly how many raw rookies did this team start throughout the year? The whole thing sounds like an excuse by veterans for their own lacklustre play.
  24. The most surprising thing is how big the numbers are for some guys, that's a lot of consensus.
  25. Like I said if you want to be technical about it they finished second last only because of their better record against Hamilton in head-to-head matchups. But I'm not being technical. Bombers tied the Ticats for last so both teams are last place teams as far as I'm concerned. And as I stated previous, the Bombers will probably finish last this year. I didn't say it was definitive. Anyway, you slice it, this team was pathetic under previous management. Hopefully under new management we can actually string together a few consecutive winning seasons - something we haven't seen since 2002-2003. no you're just being wrong. You want to argue about a team being pathetic do it with truth not with lies, there's lots of ways to do it truthfully, no need to try and make it sound worse than it actually is cause the way it is is bad enough. Gotcha. So during the 2012 season the Bombers compiled a 6-12 record to finish tied for last place overall with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats who also compiled a 6-12 record. However, due to a technicality, that being the Bombers 2-1 record against Hamilton in head-to-head matchups, the Bombers ended up drafting second overall instead of first overall. you think it's a technicality beating a team head to head and claiming to be better than that team? sounds like simple logic to me.
