Demski is a decent player, but man the way he always has to try and outrun everyone to the edge rather than cutting up inside is infuriating. Harris needs to take him under his wing and toughen him up if he's going to be worth a big pay day.

I think you missed the joke.

Will always have mad respect for Leggett. That guy was a great player for us.

If they wanted a successful business man they never should have picked trump. Who bankrupts casinos? Seriously?

So here's the thing, I believe Mclellan brought some value initially, but he never adapted when his **** stopped working, and that is why the Oilers started struggling. Coaching is a constant game of adapting and mclellan never did that. We saw more in game coaching from Hitchcock last night than in years of mclellan. The roster is imperfect, but there is more to it than mclellan was getting from them.

Eakins was a problem. Renney and krueger and Nelson were guys who never should have been let go, Eakins and Mclellan were problems.
-
Yeah the way the Blues have gone since he left there sure seems to indicate the guy is useless.... People are selling this move short, just watch. Oilers need a teacher and someone who uses guys to their strengths, that's Hitchcock. Mclellan didn't even line match, he just let the other teams dictate the matchups. What do you think McDavid will do when he isn't having to take all the hard matchups and when the rest of the lineup gets more sheltering?
-
At least the Riders can trade Bridge for some national starters.
-
How anyone can think Jennings is an upgrade on Nichols I will never know. Jennings was such **** the Lions had to go to a one armed Lulay.
-
I won't defend some of chia's trades, but draisaitl is on pace for over 100 points right now, how is he over rated? Mclellan was a problem and you will see that as more time passes. Hitchcock isn't a long term solution but you will see a different oiler team and don't be surprised if McDavid actually scores more now.
-
See and I think a big part of that is because we didn't threaten them downfield until the last 2 minutes. Should have seen how it would look if we'd made them defend the entire field. Guys were able to get open deep the few times they tried, and it's because Calgary was sitting on the short stuff.

Attention Lapolice! Please Stop Calling Predictable Plays

Because he wasn't getting a lot of help from the receivers or offensive coordinator. Even a guy like Dressler was dropping passes. Not to mention the refusal for this team to stretch the field which allowed Calgary to sit everyone in the areas Nichols wanted to throw. The game plan was **** from the Bombers and made it easy on the Stamps defense. Not all on the qb. BLM had trouble with the pressure at times and he missed a bunch of throws, difference is that his OC gave him options and they kept trying to make some big plays in the passing game. -
Is that why he was working for TSN after we fired him the last time?
-
I would say it's simply unfortunate to be in the same division as Calgary. I get that people get stupid because of 28 years, but this regime is on the right track so everyone needs to be patient.

The States have been letting the Saudis off the hook for ages regardless, Trump is just the most blatant about it.

my issue is that Paul Lapolice is a loser.

me? I've been in Nichols corner all year, if you're going to try and talk **** at least get the facts right.

BLM wasn't playing any better than Nichols on Sunday but his offense scored some touchdowns. It's not always on the qb. -
Thank god you're not in charge.

obviously Chiarelli is on the hot seat too, but let's not absolve Mclellan of blame when there are some clear things he doesn't do well. Guy doesn't line match at all, Mcdavid gets the toughest matchups at home and away, he blew that Calgary game on the weekend by sticking with the "protection" of Lucic on the top line and Kassian on the second line even when the Flames stopped trying to win a physical game. Just no adaptations at all. His only strategy when coaching is put McDavid and Draisaitl together and hope they win the game. I think the roster has more to give than they were getting out of it because we've seen shittier rosters have better results. I want to see what a new coach does with this group. If we're being totally honest they really should have just kept Todd Nelson when they hired Chiarelli, that guy got the best out of his players.

because I have seen Lapolice's body of work for many many years in the CFL? We took away his play calling in 2002 because it sucked, we fired him in 2012 because his offense did just enough to lose close games. It's the same crap here with different players each and every time. I think Lapolice is capable of being great, but he doesn't have a good enough instincts to really be great all the time. -

I don't think he was vacating the pocket early to be honest. The Stamps did do a good job pressuring the interior of the line and when Nichols took off to scramble it was when he didn't have options to throw to, so he scrambled and had no options either. The Stamps didn't have to think at all on D. Everything the Bombers did was telegraphed. I watched Harris get some of the hardest 3-5 yards ever because there was no misdirection, nothing they hadn't seen before a million times. The game plan for the Bombers was play it safe and hope for the best and that is unacceptable. Nichols is taking the blame for Lapo's shitty day. -
Because they treated that game like a playoff game and wanted to win it.
-
Calgary. Mitchell missed a lot of throws out there too and he got sacked a bunch. Now trade offensive coordinators and Winnipeg blows Calgary out of the water.
-
That's right it was 4-1 for Nichols not 4-0, but still, I think you are selling him short because let us not forget what Streveler did vs. Hamilton the week before Nichols came back. 146 yards passing. For all the numbers this offense put up it still didn't put up big passing numbers and I know some of you like to blame the qbs, but it's very clearly two fold: Lapo and lack lustre receivers. Hell our receivers might actually be better than I give them credit for but this offense no matter who was behind centre didn't put up many passing yards in general. Even when Streveler kicked the piss out of the als he was under 300 yards passing. Nichols is a better qb than he was allowed to show this year.
