Considering Barresi is the head coach of the Ottawa Gee-Gees, I think he would say no. I don't know why anyone would assume Bellefeuille is going to be the next head coach. New GM will pick the head coach. He applied for both the GM and HC jobs back in 2010 iirc. And when asked about other GM vacancies over the past few years he has said he was interested so I don't see why not.

In fairness every other team could have drafted either of those guys but didn't.

Terrence Edwards and Clarence Denmark but not the rest of the team? Indeed, we were some of the first passengers to board, would've been pretty hard to miss the rest of the team. I wonder if they missed the team flight. And the reason I asked is some people will travel on the same flight as the but only mention a couple of players. Should have know you wouldn't be one of those but it seemed weird they travelled separately.

But that was also the logic behind Lapo hiring Reed, Walters, Barresi, etc... good working relationship - except somewhere at some point you need support staff with real CFL experience at their position - Lapo's crew had CFL exp but all of them got promotions at once... so all were learning together, it just doesn't work Burke did pretty much exactly the same thing... except with less CFL exp... just can't figure out how we didn't learn... Lapo was never hands off with the offense.

Hall is hardly the first player to wave off a replacement nor will he be the last. As far as I'm concerned that's much ado about nothing. I don't think any CFL team would even grant permission to the Bombers to speak to one of their assistants during a season.

I don't think it's enough of a shake-up but I don't really think it makes sense to fire Burke and Creehan now. Let's say they did get fired now. There's no guarantee Bellefeuille would want to take the HC job in addition to being OC. And who would be DC - Plemons, Franks? Can you think of any experienced DC who would want to come in now with no guarantee they would have a job after the season is over. A new GM will be hired in the off-season who will want to bring in his own HC. Sometimes it is best to wait even when it's really bad.

If Boltus is brought in I doubt he's the veteran being referred to by Burke. With both Pierce and Hall injured it's quite possible the Bombers will be bringing in more than 1 QB. McPherson's injured? Jarious Jackson is the Lions QB coach.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. He got to swap 2nd round picks this year and gets a 2nd round pick next year for a player that he would have gotten nothing for in a couple of weeks. Buono has made trades before within the division and he's likely to do it again. Simon traded to Saskatchewan, Messam traded to Edmonton. He traded a couple of draft picks to the Stamps for Jesse Newman. If you look at trades that have been made in the league over the past few years and there are quite a few involving teams trading within their division. As for the cap, I think he was likely more concerned about his own cap situation than how much of a cap hit Reilly would be for another team.

According to credible guys like Dave Naylor there were more than 2 teams interested in Reilly.

I guess some, myself included, didn't see it as a big deal especially since he wasn't the only GM not there and the Bombers were well represented. Still don't.

The point I was trying to make actually was that having a strong arm doesn't mean a guy will be a top QB. Yes Bishop and Jackson had more success that Dinwiddie but there are also QBs who weren't overly blessed with arm strength who have had a lot more success than Bishop and Jackson.
