  1. I can't find the link but there was a story at TSN where Buono was quoted as saying he had given the Eskimos permission to speak to Reilly before the trade was finalized. From the blog of Lions beat reporter, Lowell Ulrich: http://www.cflblogzone.com/2013/02/uproar-fame-fleeting-after-leaving-lions/ The same entry refers to a TSN report which said if Reilly maxes out his incentives he would make $210,000. That is less than what Elliott or Brink would have made if either had maxed out their incentives if I'm remembering what Mike had said about their contracts correctly.
  2. Labatte is the highest paid guard in the league.
  3. if lapo just made a call to marcel last season instead of hiring crowton. I think he still be the head coach up to this day. or if burke made a call to marcel at the beginning of the season and can crowton, we are not a 1-6 team today. But Lapo didn't want an experienced CFL OC. He could have hired one but he chose not to because he didn't want to give the offense to someone else.
  4. Do you know what means? The irony seemed too much. I guess this is another case of everyone else being wrong. Stupid Bombers for celebrating their 80th anniversary in 2010. Someone should have told them they weren't supposed to include 1930-1935 in the team's history. I bet it was all Joe Mack's fault.
  5. Or Matt Norman making the switch this season with the Lions.
  6. The Hall of Fame counts the wins by nicknames, not organization. And if you want to get really picky, there is no CFL HOF. It's the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
  7. I call your Dinwiddie and raise with a Michael Bishop and Jarious Jackson. I forget which guy had a 12 game winning streak? Dinwiddie or Bishop? Are you saying that Michael Bishop was a good QB?
  8. I call your Dinwiddie and raise with a Michael Bishop and Jarious Jackson.
  9. And the CFL website says it was the Winnipeg Winnipegs who were nicknamed the 'Pegs. http://cfl.ca/greycupcentral/year/1935 And the Bombers website say 10. http://www.bluebombers.com/page/grey_cups The Winnipeg Football Club was founded in 1930. Changing the name of the team from the Winnipegs to the Blue Bombers doesn't change the fact that the Winnipeg Football Club has won 10 Grey Cups.
  10. He wasn't outmaneuvered for Reilly. I still agree that not being allowed to speak to Reilly before the trade was a deal breaker. I also don't think Taman outmaneuvered us on Picard - if Labatte had been honest we would have had a better chance at Picard.
  11. Pedersen likely made his comment about not starting the GM search already because it meant that he couldn't do another one of his Winnipeg will hire Tillman posts.
  12. I'm going with Andrew Harris as well.
  13. Forcing Lapo to hire an OC is not the same as forcing Lapo to hire Crowton. Would you have wanted Lapo to officially be the HC and OC? Lapo is the one who had known Crowton for years, not Mack. Lapo was the one who ran into Crowton at a coaching conference, not Mack. Crowton was Lapo's choice.
  14. The Winnipeg Football Club started as the Winnipeg Winnipegs and then became the Blue Bombers. Same team, different names. It's 10 Grey Cups.
  15. It will be up to Burke after he gets input from Bellefeuille on who he think should start.
  16. Saskatchewan's BoD nominates a candidate and the shareholders rubber stamp the selection. I'm not even sure if their BoD is bound by a shareholders vote and I don't think shareholders have the power to force a BoD member to be removed. When the Riders did it it was a fundraising tool, not an initiative to change how the team is run.
  17. I don't recall Creswin being a developer. I thought it is a real estate company that manages commercial properties such as 201 Portage Avenue.
  18. This report confirms nothing. Pedersen doesn't know what he's talking about. He's still spewing the crap that Mack forced Lapo to hire Crowton. According to him we've been on the brink of hiring Tillman 4 times. He has no credible sources in Winnipeg. Geez the Winnipeg media were scooping him on stuff going on in Regina until Taman decided he should talk to the local guys first.
  19. Anyone going to the practice?
  20. When Burke was still interim HC he said he would keep Crowton as OC and that was when Mack's future hadn't been decided yet. Burke practically gushed about Crowton. IIRC the consultant Burke talked about was going to evaluate more than just the offence. It's also been established now that Miller made the on bringing in Bellefeuille.
  21. For you guys who had to run to the bathroom during the commercial the URL you missed was http://www.guardyourmanhood.com What a dumb commercial.
  22. Didn't the original rumours say Mack was forcing LaPo to hire an OC and give up play calling and then after Crowton struggled it morphed into Mack forced Lapo to hire Crowton. In other words it was the brother of a woman who lives next door to the sister of a roofer who worked on Crowton's neighbour's house. Your wife wouldn't happen to be named Carrie, would she?
  23. Other than our secondary getting a lot of interceptions, was our defense that good under Nelson. And I don't think Nelson was the one who made Willis look good. Until a new GM is hired and a decision is made on the head coach I can't even begin to speculate on who the DC should be next season.
