  2. Some of them probably had a "We landed on the moon!" moment.
  3. That Bishop Grandin-Pembina-University Crescent intersection is a big problem. If they can divert a good number of buses to a different route, that would help.
  4. There are a few, particularly at DL and DB. Harris and Anderson look like they can play. Marshall and Markett. The two returners are duds IMO. Jake Thomas looks ready to take the next step and go from a 1/3 of the snaps type guy to a 2/3 of the snaps type DT.
  5. Meh, not a surprise given the rush. They were still pouring and cutting (egress for field level) concrete during rookie camp. The shabby, ugly last minute work they had to do to get occupancy should be more of a concern.
  6. There a couple issues when the starters aren't given time in the pre-season. Their timing is going to be off. The first regular season game will basically be their pre-season game. The other issue is that we can't make adjustments. We won't be trying even the blandest vanilla of the new Crowton plan with the guys who will be executing it in game 1, so we don't know which ideas are working, which need to be scrapped or adjusted. All this stuff will happen when the games count.
  7. Funniest part of this whole thing is that the pools of water weren't from the rain, but from pressure washing the seats.
  8. Especially when we're giving them to Paul Lapolice and Tim Burke, not Wally Buono or John Hufnagel. Is Burke going to say no to a 2 year deal?
  9. His chances of being our starting QB in 2014 just increased.
  10. That's a really low bar IMO, although that has become the disappointing norm for the franchise. The lack of consistent effort week to week is a huge red flag, whether the team is good or bad. He's not just getting a shot, he got a 3 year deal. Guess we'll wait and see.
  11. Hard to know what happened behind the scenes. Always felt odd to me that Burke was handed the job without looking around and holding some interviews first. 52-0, 44-3, losing 29-10 at home to Jarious Jackson all would have been enough to give me pause.
  12. Montreal 10-8 Toronto 10-8 Hamilton 7-11 Winnipeg 5-13 BC 12-6 Calgary 11-7 Edmonton 9-9 Saskatchewan 8-10 As impossible as it seems, our QBing will be worse this season, and our defence will be too. Semis- Calgary over Edmonton Saskatchewan over Toronto Finals- Calgary over BC Montreal over Saskatchewan Grey Cup- Calgary over Montreal Most Outstanding Player- SJ Green Most Outstanding Canadian- Andrew Harris Most Outstanding Defensive Player- Juwan Simpson Most Outstanding Special Teams Player- Noel Devine Most Outstanding Rookie- Cord Parks Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman- Tsoumpas
  13. Gives insight into who is likely to be cut. Garrett but no Ford.
  14. The very first thing I learned about football when I started playing as a small child is that if you play in fear of being hurt or injured, you will suck and probably get injured. Not a fan of Burke coaching scared. We have guys playing different positions, a different offence. I don't think it would be a bad idea to give the starters a half so they can truly hit the ground running on the 27th. All the practice reps in the world will not simulate game speed.

  16. Let's get his career numbers up to a season of Coehoorn's before we plan the parade.
  17. Kowalczuk must have made a monumental leap forward. Wish I could have seen, but from where I'm at I could tell if the snap was good or bad and that's about it.
  18. The BC League is substantially better in overall talent than the PFC. The PFC have the Hilltops and sometimes another team, recently the Colts. I don't really take the Hilltops as an indicator of the overall strength of the league. Worth noting too that many Manitobans who end up playing CIS take a trip out to play at least a couple of years of junior in BC. It will be interesting to see if Karhut can repair the reputation of the Rifles and keep more of the top players in Manitoba.
  19. You think they didn't figure out that Stewart was going to play SAM well before Kent was cut?
  20. If Hefney has lost a step, how many has Jovon lost? 3?
  21. I think it's "leave when a better deal comes along."
  22. This is a wayyyy overstated phenomenon. The only way that type of information would be useful would be if a guy was in on practice the week of the game, was cut the day before the game and picked up by the other team knowing the game plan and anything out of the ordinary that might be coming. Especially for what a guy like Hefney would know. Defences (Burke especially) don't use that many coverages and everyone has the film to see what teams are doing anyways.
  23. Teams can keep a draft pick on their PR that doesn't count against the PR limit of 7. Sorry.
  24. Don't be surprised when he's ineffective. Buck isn't a pocket passer. He doesn't make quick decisions, nor does he have a quick release. He's had the two worst seasons of his career (2011, 2012) while trying to become a pocket passer.
