I'd like to see Jones get some reps at safety with Loffler playing more of a Wild-esque WIL spot. Knox sucks in pass coverage and is often getting torched vs the run. I don't want him covering receivers anymore, even covering backs might be too much. The middle blitzes more in this scheme vs pass or run. Loffler would have far less ground to cover in the box and would have a greater impact. I have no doubt he can make the tackles, his coverage skills are not great either but hopefully he'd get to play more downhill. If they really think Jones can contribute they need to let him because that triangle of WIL-MLB-Safety are struggling big time. IMO each one of those guys is not being put in a reasonable spot to succeed.

Hard to predict. 4-1 in the last drive type games. Reverse that and we're fighting to stay out of the basement. Like the vibe and resilience but also feel there's another step to take where we can start winning by a TD or more consistently in at least half of these games. Leaving lots of points on the field.

No kidding. Crazy the amount of blame the D takes. If the offence can convert one more red zone trip a game they'll be taking knees to kill the clock instead of making Medlock earn every single nickel. Our OL and backs are under utilized weapons inside the 10 yard line. Literally almost always go to Adams on a fade or Denmark on a post/corner. People were predicting the throws in chat, it isn't hard. The JFG crosser has worked but teams are going to sit on that too.

Why the hell would you cut Denmark? How is it even in the realm of thought? He's our second best slot receiver and our best one is injured.

One trick pony on the returns. Test contain up the sideline. Rarely runs into the wedge or uses the wedge to find space into the middle. Rest of the league has just figured it out. Sucks on punts. Can't keep a guy on the roster for kickoffs IMO. Play well and you won't be returning many kickoffs. Decent receiver but limited route runner. All speed.

And way less flexibility which basically renders your DIs moot. IMO we are short a DB/LB guy who can reliably play 70% or more of downs in case we have an injury. I don't mind Jones but I personally haven't seen him play safety and he really hasn't at any length even in his preseasons. You'd have to hope practice reps translate to good instincts. Most likely any lengthy D injuries of NIs is going to require a ratio change on the OL or at receiver to maintain the ability to run good sub packages on D. Knock on wood.

I think he's done well but we aren't out of the woods. A significant injury to any of our NI D starters would be tough to manage while maintaining this level of play. Harris, Hurl or Loffler get hurt and we are in big trouble IMO.

I feel that fundamentally a second tailback is low priority for this staff compared to DBs and returners, but hopefully that's changed.

Not ready or just not as good as Westerman, Thomas, Corney?

That would be a short handed secondary especially with Loffler extremely iffy. No possibility of Lankford being the scratch or another receiver? I'm worried it could be Flanders.

I wonder if Harris had the option to keep the ball on that play.

Particularly if Loffler is iffy.

The likelihood of a turnover and scoring 0 points goes up hugely when you run those plays and many parts of it could have went wrong. QBs who are QBs make bad decisions, let alone guys who aren't QBs. Even Nichols piece of the play has to be almost perfect to ensure it's not an illegal formation, he can't make any approach out of shotgun towards the centre. It's a crazy call when you are just shredding the defence. No reason to increase the degree of difficulty.

For performance enhancement or recreationally? Haven't been prescribed anything stronger than a T3 but can't imagine anything that relaxes muscles to that extent could truly be performance enhancing.

Nobody plays QB's like that anymore. Nobody gives reps to backups. Gameplans are way complicated and practice time is limited.
