D has never been this pathetic. When they've struggled we've had no offense. This offense is pathetic. Maybe we can petition the league to play the Argos every week so we can feel good about it. It's BAAAAD. The D isn't going to win them games, but it's league average. The O is just terrible against any respectable opponent.
And you can do a lot more than between the tackles turn and hand off with Streveler. Should have been running a ton of read option. How is that not in our base playbook when our #2 QB is a guy like Streveler? How is Lapo this negligent? If I were MOS I'd have him in a chokehold right now.
He clearly didn't have anything installed for Streveler this week. That's inexcusable at this point of the season. Nichols could get hurt, or continue his poor play and need to be pulled. Then we're going to throw Streveler out there to run Nichols' game plan. If I'm HC there's no way that guy is calling the plays in the next game. Maybe keep him to help whoever is taking over and keep coaching receivers (or maybe not since all our imports are terrible), but there's no way he can keep calling plays.
I'd like to see Streveler get a chance to run an offense made for him, not run the plays designed for Nichols.
I don't think Lapo is the guy to build that gameplan.
He does it all. And the best thing he does, Petermann too, is get the 3 extra yards when they catch an 8 yard pass. Some of the others we've been playing don't seem to have that sense for the sticks.
Get some motion going, get some option going, get Streveler moving!
Don't run this basic **** you run with Nichols, diversify, especially the run game.
Clearly Lapo has nothing installed for 17. What a fail.
There were only 2 options in that route on the play side....against about 6 Riders. Lapo sure isn't helping any QB out.
First play for 17 they move the pocket and get a big play, every other pass since has been a straight drop.
Lapo needs to get canned for this offense to make any progress.
47 drills him using his helmet, which is a penalty regardless of where he hits, head, chest doesn't matter. It'll be a fine, but it's a joke how many they miss in the games every week. Time for the Command Centre to make those calls.
