I've found the people actually writing the cheques usually win the PR battle as long as they can demonstrate what they are offering is fair and also that the people demanding more don't get that if they were actually paid what they were demanding that they'd be out of a job in six months. Most people can figure out who the bad guy is in that scenario. We've got the same thing going on here right now with our teacher union. Their demands are just insane, yet they expect the public to support them, even if it means our taxes have to be jacked up to pay them. Yeah that will make you really popular.

We only got 4 channels on the rabbit ears - CKND was on Channel 9, CTV on channel 7, CBC English Channel 6 and French channel 3. Then that Fox station started up on channel 12 but it was always pretty fuzzy so hard to watch. And we would wear an onion on our belt, as was the style of the time. And we only had yellow onions, because of the war.

I'm not going to get into an argument about this. You have to remember the time frame. We had some damn good teams in the Brock era, but no one could hold a candle to the 1978-1982 Edmonton Eskimo teams. They were in a league of their own. Dieter just hit a really bad time in CFL history to be at the top of his game, I've never seen a team that dominant as the Eskimos were at that point since, other than perhaps the 1985 Chicago Bears.

DB could see a surprise cut too, we have a hell of a lot of rookie DB's. 9 rookie imports, plus guys like Markett, Dunn and a whole bunch of new NI's too.
