We only got 4 channels on the rabbit ears - CKND was on Channel 9, CTV on channel 7, CBC English Channel 6 and French channel 3. Then that Fox station started up on channel 12 but it was always pretty fuzzy so hard to watch. And we would wear an onion on our belt, as was the style of the time. And we only had yellow onions, because of the war.

I remember when he started on CKND, man I feel old.

I'm not going to get into an argument about this. You have to remember the time frame. We had some damn good teams in the Brock era, but no one could hold a candle to the 1978-1982 Edmonton Eskimo teams. They were in a league of their own. Dieter just hit a really bad time in CFL history to be at the top of his game, I've never seen a team that dominant as the Eskimos were at that point since, other than perhaps the 1985 Chicago Bears.

DB could see a surprise cut too, we have a hell of a lot of rookie DB's. 9 rookie imports, plus guys like Markett, Dunn and a whole bunch of new NI's too. Kent and Hefney cut the last two years in training camp... Speaking of Hefney, any appetiite to bring him back for another look considering the amount of DB rooks we have or has that shipped sailed? I assume that means he was cut by Calgary? Sorry I just wasn't paying much attention.

Those of us that remember Dieter Brock in his prime still hunger for a guy that could huck a ball 50 yards with a flick of his wrist. Dieter could throw a football through a car wash and it would be still be dry on the other side. Yes that gives me a chubby, and I'm proud to say it.

I totally agree on this Me too. I like Hall.Hall ate a lot of Astroturf last season and there were probably mornings after a game when he had trouble moving, so he deserves an honest shot-nothing more. If Brohm or Marve beat him out for the backup spot (unlikely, but it has happened) I would feel for him, but that is the nature of the game. I still feel that Marve will be a gamer once/if he figures out the CFL game, and yes, it is baseless speculation. what's Astro-turf?

I totally agree on this Me too. I like Hall. I liked Hall's guts, he was the anti-Brock Ralph. I just don't see him as a starter, held on to the ball too long in the pocket and got nailed far too often, much like Buck in that way. Hopefully this year the game slows down a lot for him as he gets some confidence and more experience, and above all, half-decent QB coaching.

Go Marve go!! About time we had a QB with an arm in camp. And one who is actually accurate. So excited about that. I hope he isn't a flash in the pan. I remember back in 2009 going to a TC practice and seeing Darrel Hackney throw bombs and thought "wow that kid can throw!" and then he was cut two days later. No idea why, other than he looked to be about 50 lbs over weight. Anyway, go Marve go!!! Be the rookie sensation we all want you to be!

I have the same sentiment. its very close and convenient for me. But the last thing anyone would want to read would be my analysis of rookie camp. I would, as long as it didn't involve any full-page rants about milk... haha no it would just be very generic. and organic too
