and I love how anyone who says anything that certain people disagree with it is suddenly classified as "hate speech". This is Orwellian and wrong. Sometimes people say things that you don't agree with. I get that there are rules to this forum that require respect for other posters, and you and I both have breeched those rules and rightfully been punished. But just saying things that don't conform to the belief systems of some doesn't make it "hate". This was one of the reasons that Trump won. People were tired of being labeled for their personal beliefs, and voted in the last place they still had a voice, the ballot box. Check out Jonathon Pie sometime.

I just spit cheerios all over my computer screen. This is just delusional.
-
not really, as it seems like some here still can't grasp the bitter reality that the Dems ran a crappy campaign, with an incredibly crappy candidate.
-
Great point Mark, and expect "haters" to jump all over it. You exactly nailed it. And yes, the same thing could happen in Canada, though at that point the parallels end for me, as I see Trudeau as a blight on Canada in so many ways, and so him being kicked out isn't just because people like him less than Scheer, it's that he's an arrogant lying sack of crap.

yes, free speech sure sucks. You have to listen to stuff you don't agree with, imagine that!

This comment actually cuts both ways. Strip away the inflammatory rhetoric and you can start talking about legitimate beefs with both parties. And there are a lot. Trump is a lot of things that you guys say, but in the end, we're not Americans. So it's up to Americans to decide who best represents them. If the Democrats are unable to find someone who Americans feel is better, then Trump will win again. The Democrats don't just get a free spot on the bingo card, they have to focus on why they would be the better choice. They didn't do this in 2016, and it cost them big. You can blame Russians or whatever, but it's all on the Democrats for that loss.

I don't think this label (yet again with the labels, why??) is really appropriate. What does this mean? If you disagree with someone and their policies, you are automatically a "hater"? Are you then a "hater" of Donald Trump? Or do you just disagree with his policies and how he conducts himself? AOC was picked to run in a district that Pelosi described as "a glass of water could win for the Democrats". So her handlers knew she would win, and also knew that she'd say things that would resonate with a small part of the extreme left. Why? And now she's trying to sabotage Joe Biden? Why? What are your theories on this? Instead of jumping on people and telling them that they can't post about Democrats in a US Politics thread (I know it wasn't you that did this), why not discuss the complexities at work here? Is there a war going on behind closed doors at the DNC? If so, who is going to win? Old establishment white guy or someone else more in line with the regressive Left represented by AOC and others? What are your thoughts on this? Is this guy a "hater"? All he is doing is disagreeing with a lot of things that AOC is saying. And by just focusing on Trump's foibles, and not on how to beat Trump in an election, the DNC is doing itself a complete disservice. But thanks again for the advice. I truly don't understand the labels, and so when these are applied, like the term "hater", I will always question them, as it is the labelers doing themselves a complete disservice.

Just disgusting. Not really. There is no "fun poking" here. You can pretend all you want. It doesn't. And throwing around these kinds of insults is just disgusting. Shame on you. I have no idea who you are talking about? Andrew Scheer? Jagmeet Singh? What is the "ha ha" here?

I'm not sure who the "haters" are. She posted an instagram video about how she didn't know what a garbage disposal is. Like, why? Who does that? I am not sure why you do that, and not expect ridicule. As Nanci Pelosi said, both of she and AOC won in districts that the Democrats could win running a glass of water. Now it's time to step up, and show why you are better than a glass of water.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Who is the "black woman" and why is her intelligence being "insulted"? What is the point of this post? Are you like this at your work too, walking around and telling people what they can and can't say, bullying them at every turn? If so I pity your co-workers.
-
they'd have to remove all of the garbage disposals in the White House though, as they seem to be too confusing for her. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7006645/AOC-baffled-new-D-C-apartments-garbage-disposal.html

Trump will be long gone before AOC makes a bid for president. By then she'll be Candace Owens problem.
-
I know what you mean, Candace Owens and Ayaan Hirsi Ali face the same kind of criticism due to their colour and gender. We can name names.
-
haa haa ha it's a thread on US politics, so why wouldn't we talk about Democrat candidates? Who died and made you the guy who decides what we talk about?
-
doesn't look like AOC is very happy with Uncle Joe's climate plan. Is this going to cause dissension in the Democrats?
-
Remember 2010? One game I went to Buck had Aaron Hargreaves, Brock Ralph and Jamayel Smith (who?) starting at receiver. How far we have come.

I think that it was condescending of the bank to lecture people on how to manage their money, but I also think that trying to score political points with this tweet was kind of silly too. Both sides were pretty lame. I don't know what wage stagnation has to do with this at all. Raising wages doesn't stop people from wasting their money (not saying all people do this), they just waste more of it. That being said I've got friends who work in banks and credit unions, and they see what people waste their money on every day, and it's pretty frustrating for them when they have someone on the other side of the table spending $100 a month on Spotify and other online social media memberships, but can't make their mortgage payment. Lecturing them about how if they stop having five Starbucks a day, that it would probably help them make their mortgage payment easier, might wake a few people up, but it's a personal responsibility issue at the end of the day. A lot of people would prefer excuses for why they are living cheque to cheque rather than give up their daily spend on comforts. Read the Wealthy Barber sometime. The first thing he says to do is to track every dollar you spend for two months. He says few people who do this do not end up amazed at how much they spend on micro-purchases in a month.

I saw that tweet awhile ago, and had the exact opposite reaction.

Warren Moon was amazing. I of course despised him at the time as he was with the Eskimos. But man was he good. -
Yeah I know I was there at the pre camp and saw it first hand. Brandon was there too.

I thought that was Hackney?

Cillizza: You've noted on Twitter that Democratic voters care much more about health care than impeachment. And yet, there's still an active debate in Congress about whether to seek to impeach Trump. Why? Anzalone: My main point is that Americans are very divided on impeachment and it has become a political football that gets in the way of a strong Democratic message on health care, economic opportunity and the environment where we win elections. I feel Democrats in Congress are playing into Trump's hands here. Trump's oxygen is keeping this controversy going and we are taking the bait. I think we should be holding hearings on restoring what has been taken away from ACA and improving it, which could help people today. I think we should make just as much noise in Congress on health care and economic opportunity issues (minimum wage, skills training, education grants, etc) as we do on Trump/Barr/Mueller/Impeachment. My problem is the proportionality of it all. We are drowning out our own core strengths and strengthening Trump's political hand and exciting his base on an issue that Americans don't have any stomach for. https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/09/politics/democrats-primary-2020/index.html

you should let the kids in Colorado know that.
