Could any of our opinion of what Matt can and cannot do could be a result of the system? Could he have been following Lapos coaching with the check downs and throw the ball away? Possibly Zach looked at Lapp and said “hell no, that’s not who I am” and forced Lapp to open it up some? The play call in Calgary could have been a check down or throw away to set up the field goal and Zach ignored it and scrambled and tossed to the end zone for a almost miracle result. This team doesn’t play for miracles, it takes what it can and gets ready to do it again. Did I find this team more exciting to watch with Zach? Yes but as a fan I have to come to grips with the same thing the team has. For The W!!! It’s all about the wins...

Nichols is getting paid that bonus, likely sooner than January too. A bonus for a FA at that time of year had to be a way to defer 2019 money forward to keep them under the cap this year. With the savings from having him on the IR so long they likely have the cap space to pay it out now for "services" already received. I would be surprised if the amount of that bonus was $200k as he would be deferring half his annual income. I expect that we will see Nichols, Strev and Jefferson re-upped before Christmas with bonuses against the 2019 cap. Others likely don't get signed until 2020 with bonuses applied to that year, of course as a fan I could also be completely talking out my ass...

I'm the first to admit I am a total homer and know much more about the players on our team than the others. Looking at the FA's out there only a couple of names stand out that I would want here and those are National LB's DJ LaLama and Cameron Judge. I am not even sure we have a need or place for them but I think they could fit in the locker room here. p.s. How has Sam Hurl maintained employment this long?

There are more than a few players that I liked a lot more in the playoff run than during the season. Adams is the perfect example, seemed like a lazy bum much of the regular season but was an absolute warrior in the playoffs. Can’t decide if I want him back or am ready to move on. There is no question that Thiadric Hansen needs to be back and bring some friends.

Could be, I don't want him here. Other than the entire Rider organization he's probably my most hated person in the CFL. I don't know that Wade would sign off on it, just think how close to exploding Wade's head was yesterday with Nichols F-bombs, that just getting warmed up for Maas...

One is a violation of social ethics one is a hockey issue. As @Noeller said if you don't understand how wrong this is, you are a part of the problem. What also needs to be addressed is how and why so many would have kept this quiet for so long.

So with Lapo taking on a HC position are we okay with Buck Pierce getting promoted or do we have a dream candidate to argue about? Also, Dinwiddie as HC in Ottawa? Can't believe that is realistic.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nichols comes back with an AH33 sized chip on his shoulder and is MOP next year after throwing for 5000yds. He showed that kind of passion on stage today. (I am not a Nichols fan, not quite a hater but find him boring to watch)

Two sleeps later and I still tear up every time I read this thread. Almost had to pull over on the drive in listening to highlights of the Coach's show last night. Doing it again now remembering the emotion of Osh describing what it meant to him to have his whole family there this weekend for the win. If you missed the coaches show you should seek it out.

Here's something that just occurred to me. If Zach doesn't come back he won a Grey Cup with the Bombers having never lost a game. Has a QB ever done such a thing before?

I need to stop reading this thread at work, there is always another story that gets the tears streaming... By 2000 I had given up on the Bombers but was hired by a great man that had a 1991 ring. He worked on my for years, gave me his tickets for some games but shirts for all the staff every time they appeared in the Cup. 2007 I got my own season tickets, I lost my father in 2009 and never got him to a game, lost my professional mentor in 2010 and he never saw the new stadium or another Grey Cup for the Bombers. I know you watched Bruce, thank you for re-kindling my fandom.
