Maybe Collaros, like Neuf, wasn't really injured for most of the season. Just on the IR to get the younger players playing time and to save SMS. Maybe he isn't an injury issue at all. Heck.. maybe being injury prone isn't a real thing at all. 😂🤣😂
-
My bad, I meant the Calgary game, not the Regina game. Change WF to WSF.
-
Hamilton can afford Masoli at starters money because Evans is on a cheap contract. I could see a 1 year deal with the carrot being a realistic chance of getting to the Grey Cup and winning it. That's a bigger deal in the long run than a few thousand dollars this year.
-
The WF was great play calling. Not so much in the GC. 7 turn overs produced just 2 TD's.
-
3 OL, Harris, Demski, Woli
-
Demski played the whole year. Whitehead didn't. That's what I mean by spot duty. Making big plays in some games and not doing much in others is the definition of hot/cold.
-
Buck's been in charge of our QB's for years. He has mostly the same names as PLAP on his resume. PLAP's results are Buck's results. I assume that Buck will mostly continue to run PLAP's offence. I doubt he makes significant changes from what's been working for us especially in the beginning.
-
So much fake news. So many alternative facts. I hardly know where to start. I didn't rant against PLAP. Seems like you're confusing me with 17 🤣. No, I don't like Nichols check downs. I prefer Collaros' escapability and completions to keep drives going. None of that changes the real facts that are the stats nor does it make them cherry picked. Whitehead's biggest asset is his speed. That's what makes him a deep threat, not the 500 or so yards he got in spot playing time. Demski is hot and cold and he came into his own at the end of the year and the playoffs. You can call that criticism if you want. I call it observation. FTR: That doesn't mean that I don't know that Whitehead also runs hot and cold or that I'd replace Demski on the offence. Say what you want about Woli and Demski. The stats tell a different story. You're just overvaluing NI's. I never said the sky was falling because Kongbo is getting an NFL shot. I said good for him and good for the Bombers to let him. I don't want to go back and check to check if we used a DI on offence all season, so I'll give that one to you.
-
So you don't think the offence would be more dynamic with another deep threat like Whitehead, even as a DI? Peterman is loved around here but, we wouldn't really miss his 120-150 yards a season. Woli got 360 yards receiving. I doubt that kind of output would be hard for an import to replace or improve upon. Woli's passport is as important as his output. Demski's hot and cold, but he really came into his own in the last quarter of the season and the playoffs.

Congrats to PLAP. He's likely learned a lot since his last shot at HC. Hopefully that means he'll be a better HC this time around. Expect Ottawa to bring in a vet QB like Masoli, Collaros or Nichols, cuz PLAP's seen how hard it is to win with poor QB's. I'd rather bring in an experienced OC than give the job to Buck. Closely watching PLAP be an OC isn't the same as being an OC. Buck has zero OC experience and he'll likely fall back to PLAP's offence because that's the one he knows best. More of the same, when folks around here blamed PLAP for all kinds of problems, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We're going to find out just how much PLAP meant to the team. I wonder if we're expecting the new OC to start 6 NI's and not have any DI's to work with.

2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.

Collaros has a slightly higher chance of being out because of his concussion history, but all QB's can be injured on one hit. -

𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 @DarrinBauming The #Bombers have released Canadian rush end Jonathan Kongbo to pursue NFL opportunities. Kongbo suffered a torn ACL late in his final NCAA season, 2018. GM Kyle Walters statement… -
Only if Kongbo is the 8th NI.
-
They can as long as there are still 7 other NI's on the field. In other words, they aren't counted as NI's for ratio purposes.
-
You don't want him to practice?

Collaros also took 2 big hits in the last season game and continued to play.
-
Most of the starting QB's got taken out by one hit this year. One hit ended Nichols season. One hit shortened Collaros' season to 1 game + 3 playoff games.
-
I don't say it with any more conviction than those who say we would have won it anyway with Nichols at QB. Collaros > Nichols. He hit the deep balls down the sidelines that Nichols doesn't hit very often. In each playoff game, those completions got us out of trouble and flipped the field. Collaros extended plays with his feet, while continuing to look down field. He threw medium to deep after moving the pocket. Instead of throwing the ball away, he gave our receivers a chance to catch the ball. He did all that against the best teams in the league. Lets play 'what if' for a single play. Nichols wouldn't have made that great TD pass in the last game of the season. He doesn't have the escapability, nor the deep ball accuracy. That play won us the game, lifted the team, and knocked Calgary into 2nd instead of 1st. Assuming we beat Regina, we play a rested Calgary team on a +15 day instead of -11 day which works in Calgary's favour.
-
It equally easy to go the positive route then say **** you to everyone when the team eventually wins, even if that's only once every 29 years or so.
-
We were lucky that Nichols got hurt. He wouldn't have got us past Calgary, let alone have won the cup.
-
The reports are that Nichols has a bonus due in January. We need to make the decision as to if we keep him or not before that date. If we aren't going to keep him, we need to cut him before that date so we don't give SMS money away to a player we aren't going to keep.

You can coach from a golf cart if you need to. Gotta have money behind you if you retire early. Pension isn't usually paid until 65 and I doubt being a CFL player then a CFL coach gives you a ton of capital or a big pension at the end.
-
Hall is only 59. Kinda early to retire from coaching.
-
Jason Mass would be my first choice for OC. The other 3 have zero CFL OC experience.
-
The rumour I read before the GC was Campbell to BC. Maybe that's changed now that Edmonton has an opening. 3 HC jobs available and Toronto's not included in the list. Lots of opportunity for PLAP and MOS if they want it.
