No I'm not arguing that either. If you overpay players, you're gonna pay for it, either by not being able to afford better players in FA or by going over the cap.

Of course, I'm not saying that. BC got rid of Adams as soon as they could & dropped Awe to afford Sankey. They gave Rourke a bunch O marketing money to make his contract work, which was absolutely brilliant. Teams can 'overspend' on single players maybe even 2, but when they 'overspend' on more than that, especially at the QB spot, the highest paid player, then they run into SMS issues.

Walters has constantly overpaid our stars... Collaros, Brady, Jefferson to name a few. That's why we can't pick up other teams top free agents.

Walters is doing the same thing he has since we became an elite team. He goes looking for underappreciated players that he can get for 'reasonable' price that he hopes will take the next step. When they work out, he's a great GM, when they don't he isn't.

Tweaking isn't going to be enough to get back into the top teams conversation. Continuity, at this juncture, is just continuing the downward trend we've been on for the last 3 years.

I doubt Alexander would have played if it was a regular game. Injured QB loses Grey Cup sounds sadly familiar. Still kept them in the game until the fumble. Whoever is coaching us next year is in for a pretty major overhaul. We only got the last playoff spot this year because the Elks started the wrong QB at the beginning of the year. Assuming Faj-jj is back, we're looking at 5th in the west next year with the current roster.
