  1. Quite impressive and as you say, good motivation for any young players who may be more suitable for coaching. that comment was actually for a particular member here who's son is a QB in a canadian university. (figured most people got that)
  2. Local boy who was a high school star. A 2 year starting QB from the U of Guelph (so he and Walters likely get on well). He's been Barker's star pupil for the last few years. As a Canadian QB who has made a career out of football, he'd be a good role model for anyone on this forum's son who may also like to transition into a CFL career if he doesn't get a serious look at QB because of his birth certificate.
  3. one of the best "low profile" player additions of this era of the CFL.
  4. the Peter Principle in action once again. weird that all 3 of these guys on our 2014 staff (Burke, Creehan, Daley) all proved their inability at superior positions in Winnipeg...
  5. B solid, unspectacular. workmanlike.
  6. i use my phone at the gym (i have to... time is money) but i make an effort not to be a twit about it.
  7. would you even read the answer though? your track record on these things is pretty shaky. Sometimes I don't read everything you type because you've been wrong so often and your obnoxious too. My track record? I'll put mine against yours any day. Lets review. I was against Mack in his last two seasons. Against the Jade and the Pencer draft picks. Wanted Laurent instead of Kito because we needed a DT more than yet another young receiver. Your track record is exactly the opposite. Loved Mack. Argued with anyone who didn't like the Jade or the Pencer draft picks. I can't remember if you wanted Kito or not, but I'm going to guess you supported that move too cuz you loved everything the great and powerful Mack did. lol'd so hard it hurts. as to Wpg trading for Glenn, i wouldn't do it for more than a 3rd rounder (they can make it a 2nd if Glenn starts a certain number of games)... but i'd still rather try to develop Willy. i just wouldn't ever ant Glenn as my QB.
  8. so long as he isn't coughing them up.
  9. Detain was always going there.
  10. i think that asking for a "high draft" pick is a good opening salvo from Hervey. the report didn't suggest that he was demanding a 1st rounder so i think that there's room for negotiations here (as there always is). new scenery could be very good for Nichols.
  11. if HM does return to the CFL after a few tryouts/offers, under whatever the new SMS turns out to be, i presume he'd be among the first wave of NIs making north of 200k
  12. even if he gets a contract offer, it doesn`t mean he`s NFL bound. ask Chad Owens or Chad Kackert.
  13. Three? Burris, Collaros and ?? Reilly Reilly was traded to Edmonton before free agency last year then was extended. He never hit the market. and he (evidently) never considered Winnipeg as an option (I believe is the point A_X is raising)
  14. The truth is, nobody except management actually knows what the Plan A truly would have been if all players 3 players had hit free agency at the same time. We only assume Collaros was Plan A because he was the first one available. he was offered legit starter money. he was plan A.
  15. I also wonder how much our OL factored into this decision. Our offense doesn't have a pocket, it has a killing floor. On the bright side, as we get our OL issues sorted out, it will be Burris taking that punishment, instead of some prized youngster like Mike Reilly who is the Future of the Franchise. I dunno I think Burris can make an o-line look better than they are, one of the things he does do well is avoid pressure in the pocket and buy time. Think of how many times you remember thinking that the Bombers should have had Burris sacked in the pocket but he managed to slip away... That's his real strength as a qb, forget the arm, he's an elusive player, that's what lets him put up the numbers he does. And so begins the jumping on the Burris bandwagon by 17.... I never thought that I would see this day this'll be even better than when Bomber fans had to cheer for Bishop!
  16. said it before, will say it again: "geography".
  17. one of two reasons i'd love to see him as a Bomber
  18. Not suggesting every QB thinks the same, but we didn't lose out on Collaros from a lack of effort or lack of ability to offer a better role than other teams. We lost out on Collaros because our reputation as a franchise is in the shitter. I can't say I blame Collaros, I wouldn't have come here either if I was him. And I wouldn't come here if I was Drew Willy. I'd take the safe bet and follow Khari to BC. more like geography.
  19. Phillion and Shivers were welcome to explore their options. Losing McAdoo sucks, but the guy has worked wonders on our O-Line for 3 seasons and deserves the promotion.
  20. i thought he was on our active rosters too.
  21. didn't even know that we'd released JFG.
  22. playoffs ought to be the goal. with 5 teams in the West and a new franchise in the East, the crossover will very much be in play.
  23. Hell has officially frozen over... I agree with blutes magutes! Having morely as a contingency plan (and yes if need be, starter) is not the worst casr scenario.. the worst case scenario would be having nobody. Morley is a bit better than that... now Walters has to determine if you must go with 2 imports on the line again and if so, recruiting someone better than Boatma .
  24. hating the REDBLACKS
