  1. Yes, you can cherry pick that trade because it was a good one. Garrick Jones and their second or third rounder were also involved in that trade. Now, if we were to discuss the Spurgeon Wynn trade...
  2. A Canadian Running Back IMO, there are several ways to make it work. The obvious one would be a capable Canadian backup, but that seems unlikely Or... His backup could be an American who dresses as a DI and returns punts / kicks. If the NI gets injured or needs a breather, one possibility would be a serviceable Canadian receiver who plays special teams and could replace an American receiver if need be. Then the American RB can play.
  3. At least those Thursdays are all in summer...
  4. I think the centre becomes a much bigger factor when you're lining against a dominant DT - eg. Doug Brown
  5. A grade of C+ would be in the high 60's, which is an above average grade.
  6. Barrin Simpson? And the '08 smoke screen...
  7. Too lofty since Perrett wasn't a free agent. I was editing - until then you had no business reading.
  8. Well at least management is no longer of the opinion that good import receivers grow on trees.
  9. I voted B. Butler or Bourke were they only way they would get an A/A+ I realize that's pretty lofty - but such is the nature of an A+
  10. Worth every cent IMO. A Canadian left tackle - hell yes. You do whatever it takes to keep a player like that.
  11. Troy Westwood talked about this yesterday and agrees that Sam will have trouble with many players. He talked about the influence of American players on the CFL and their Christian faith, though clearly they choose certain aspects of Christianity to embrace. There are still racists among us today but we dont tolerate it in police society. No doubt racists exist in pro sports but overt racism is simply not tolerated. Is Bruce an idiot? Absolutely. He's actually a two-time loser. 1) for having those backwards opinions and 2) for being stupid enough to express them in public. Precisely this. And anyone who thinks religious freedom / beliefs give them the right express such opinions - has another think coming. We have individual freedoms only as far they don't interfere with anyone else's freedoms.
  12. Sears was our most effective player @ SAM, IMO But like you say, for a week at least
  13. Good trade - nice to see the secondary being addressed
  14. I don't want to talk about my feelings
  15. We need Dave Ritchie to come back for just one Wiecek interview.
  16. Ok, I meant all other offensive situations - clearly I needed a bigger mug of coffee this morning
  17. Yes because when a defenseman has a -15 rating and his counterparts are hovering around 0 that really doesn't paint a picture ..... specially when the whole media, town and all the fans clearly rag on the guy for huge giveaways and lazy play. A defensive defenseman who's never out on the powerplay and plays a regular shift on the penalty kill - it's more acceptable for a guy like that to be minus -10 - than someone who's on ice in more offensive situations.
  18. Why does it seem far-fetched to you. He did have a number of work-outs with NFL teams. He doesn't have the size to play Linebacker in the NFL. How much experience does he have at other positions?
  19. Oh yes, the Kelly comment was bound to come up at some point According to everything we've been told by the Bombers, they have now lost out on Plan A and Plan B. Think about how that looks to average fan, who read the Lawless and Penton articles a few days ago. But hey, maybe Glenn and Willy were Plan A all along and Walters has now manipulated everyone into thinking they weren't. Maybe Bomber fans are schizophrenic because they have to be.
  20. Montoya hasn't been the primary backstop for a putrid team most of the year. A turnover prone D is hard on a goalie's psyche - so are forwards to glide back on the back check. Thankfully that seems to be changing If it were as obvious as you believe it to be - Montoya would be starting every game.
  21. I only watched the first period and he made some fantastic saves, the proof is in the stats.... the guy clearly is outplaying Pavs When it comes to goaltending, stats are definitely for losers. Until goalie stats show the number of 'scoring chances' against, they will be mostly meaningless. For example, Kiprusoff played some excellent goal for a poor Calgary team - for quite a few years.
  22. Oh yes, Taman front loaded deals with Goodspeed, Canada, Glenn et al. Took a couple years for the team to recover from that
  23. But hasn't this been the story of Pavs career starting in Atlanta..... up and down and zero consistency? Which was exactly like the team playing in front of him...
  24. 'Tried' is the key word - when you're signing guys like Boatman and starting them at Right Tackle - it ain't quite workin' out.
  25. Steady on old chap - let's see how they fair going forward before passing judgement.
