  1. I guess he probably just likes lots of money more than he likes not as much money. Go figure.
  2. But *technically* that contract isn't filed, so *technically* he's a free agent.
  3. That isn't the announcement. I had heard that it was to announce the CFL Combine is moving to Regina (which it is) but this seems more like an announcement for the league, not the city so I'm curious.
  4. They also reported Willy made like 425k a season.
  5. It's totally senseless to go to 5 American receivers.
  6. I've watched it about a million times. Trust me, I can't stop watching it.
  7. And then if Manny catches the ball, everyone is questioning Loffler for easing up and not playing to the whistle. To be honest, this might not be a popular opinion with some people but last I checked, football is a job that these guys willingly participate in. It's not slavery, they're not being forced to go out there and compete in a barbaric sport that puts them at risk against their own will. For that reason, while I prefer to not see a guy have his brains scrambled if all things are equal, I don't care to see these hits removed from the game. I hate that what would've made highlight reels 20 years ago is now picked apart. That's a beautiful hit and I'm going to cheer every single time Loffler lays a guy out like that, medical implications be damned.
  8. Unofficial list of Blue Bomber FA that was shared this morning did not include Sukh Chungh (or ANY of our OL, which is incredible) Adams, Bass, Burnett, Briggs, Davis, Glenn, Denmark, Hurl, Gurley, McDuffie, Nichols, Rempel, Kohlert, Cummings No Chungh That would be awesome if we didn't have to worry about that.
  9. Get your own lines.
  10. May as well play touch football if that hit is a penalty.
  11. I was really hoping that Loffler was going to finish Manny off Undertaker style
  12. I'm going to blame O'Shea for the awful (AWFUL) call at the end to try the 61 yard field goal, but that's just about where it's going to end. It's not going to turn into me insisting he be fired or suggesting that it's a reason for us not to extend him. Because the O'Shea who made that call is also the same O'Shea that got our team so prepared to play a road playoff game that they came out firing on all cylinders, played penalty-free football and it goes on and on. I can wholeheartedly say after a full season to look back at that Mike O'Shea is a great coach that made a terrible ****ing call - it wasn't a call I agreed with before or after the missed field goal, but you know what - he'll learn from it. Bring on 2017. First overall pick, we're on the clock. Good luck to BC going forward.
  13. Heaven forbid I suggest we cut ties with Wild around these parts. I'm a big Ian Wild guy, but his "heart and soul" doesn't make up for the fact that he whiffed second level tackles in the back half of this season like he had contract incentives for doing so. I don't know if it was injury and maybe it was, but I have no doubt that Burnett outplayed Wild down the stretch.
  14. Nichols went a long way yesterday into selling me on the idea he can be our starter in 2017 and beyond.
  15. Congrats to Andrew Harris, Travis Bond, Mo Leggett, Justin Medlock, TJ Heath and Taylor Loffler!
  16. Here's what I'm predicting for all-stars: RB - Andrew Harris OL - Travis Bond, maybe Matthias Goossen DL - Jamaal Westerman LB - Khalil Bass, Mo Leggett DB - TJ Heath, Taylor Loffler K - Justin Medlock
  17. This deal doesn't mean Trouba is going to stay here, it simply means he's an easier asset to get rid of (and for a better return)
  18. I'd love to see Popp head to Saskatchewan. I'd love the laughs to be only one province over when he starts trying to sign Randy Moss Jr., Snoop Dogg's kid or Ronald Ollie from Last Chance U.
  19. I hope Bombers make a play for somebody who isn't Nichols. I'm just not sold.
  20. I'd trade OUR first round pick for Franklin no questions asked. Too bad we didn't just sign him when we had him on our negotiation list years ago.
  21. Popp apparently didn't show up for the meetings teams traditionally have with each player on locker cleanout day.
  22. ^^ correct. Typo.
  23. You wanna hear strange comparisons? 1983: my dad was 27 years old, won a trip to the Grey Cup, Bombers were in a 20+ year Grey Cup drought but won 11 games and made it to the Grey Cup and eventually won it 2016: I'm 27 years old, I've got a 1 in 20 chance to win a trip to the Grey Cup next week, Bombers in a 20+ year drought and won 11 games this year Come on good juju
  24. I won't get into it, because I'm certainly not knowledgeable enough to do so but basically what it boils down to is that it's nowhere near that simple. Few things I'll touch on: - the other team gets paid to show up and make plays as well, sometimes you can do everything right and it's still not going to work - Harris making a cut back read or going off tackle is great, but if he's freelancing and not following his blocks, the percentages don't favor him being productive in the long term ... Van is going off tackle, but it's nowhere near as simple as that - he doesn't just decide that he's going to freelance that kind of move, it's all within the play call and the blocking he's receiving is intended to flow with that If you want to read a bit more: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/football-insider/wp/2015/05/21/differences-between-the-zone-and-power-running-schemes/ Good read.
