  1. The trouble is when you spend that money on one position you sacrifice at another. Having Wilson,Wheatfall,Wolitarski demski plus either Schoen or Lawler is pretty good to me especially if it gives you 125k to spend elsewhere
  2. I think we make a choice: either lawler or shoen, with wilson and wheatfall on rookie deals we could use the cap savings on dline (whoever is the best deal) Theres only one football so having 4 stud recievers is redundant.
  3. The real need is to upgrade the dt position, as currently we dont have a great alternative. How good would it have been to sign Oakman? My main point is with current roster Younger is playing who he feels is best I do agree we aren't nearly aggressive enough to replace vets that are downtrending
  4. What i saw was every time Woods was on he was getting manhandled and pushed out of position leaving gaps for Rankin to plough through. When you run a three man front the tackles job isnt as much to make the tackle its to eat up the blockers so lb can get clear shot. Thomas is not a mike rose but our options at dt arent great. Younger has full control over personnel on any given play and its obvious what his choice was, even with 4 man rush woods was being handled.Take a look at Rankins run at the 13 minute in 2nd qtr and you'll see what I mean. A lot of Rankins run were thru the right side of their line.
  5. Dont know if you watched last game but Thomas outplayed woods. Younger by all accounts is a good defensive mind, hes gonna play the players that give him the best chance to win
  6. Its also likely that Randolph sees reps in place of Dobson, or Neufeld. The depth chart often seems to reflect players seniority vs actual game time The key to our offence isnt the recievers, its giving Zac enough time to make plays. I think Elks can be beat with mid to deep passes.
  7. doesn't Collaros look10lbs lighter at that time than he is now? His mobility this year seems less.
  8. Having Lucky on offence seemed to open up things more for our offence. Hes been good on sweeps at critical moments and adds a lot of options. On kick returns at least hes runnong north south .
  9. Dimwiddie is complaining about not getting calls . ironic since he beat us cause of several blown calls, including trying to take a timeout with none left and not getting penalized
  10. hes had the team less than a week , and already you are prejudging him? Hes been a lifelong fan and is stepping up. Elks have had enough "Geniuses" trying to run the team
  11. or as much as Suitor does...I'm dreading hearing the fanboys commentary
  12. Before they adopt the bombers blueprint they should follow bc's example. 1 have an owner passionate about making cfl football relevant 2 Hire a successful coach 3 get out into the community and surrounding areas and market 4 Bring in some special events to get the potential fan attention and attract younger fans. 5. They have the qbs to build a good team around, offensively their talent is very good. Defensively they need to redistribute some money to dline and linebackers ( Ironic that Jones a supposed defensive guru caused this ie trading Ceresna for Gittens jr, overpaying multiple recievers etc.)
  13. The thing is this cfl season has been the definition of inconsistent and also unpredictable How many thought we would dominate a bc team that was at home, off a bye, on a short week. Or stamps being undefeated at home and winless on road. I sure didn't see bolevi being the top passer stats wise. It feels like its less based on talent and more who plays with the most physicality, and least mistakes
  14. More due to the ankle injury Brown suffered, along with Crum looking awful
  15. We often criticize OShea for not making moves to replace vets that aren't producing to our satisfaction, but I have to say putting Randolph in was a great move. An American guard has to show a lot in practice to start over a national, and at only 25 he has a big upside, giving a young olineman reps could be an investment we will grow to appreciate As far as Eli vs Kolo I dont think Eli has shown enough to make that change.
  16. we don't do that, rather O'Shea doesn't, it takes a lot for him to back down on a previous decision regarding a vet. Even when it becomes obvious to others there can be better options
  17. The money saving as previously posted is overstated. Because of the large bonuses we gAve out to save cap space bit us, so the savings is only the prorated portion of the balance. Often it costs us more when we pay a replacement player if they dont stay on the full 6 game
  18. I think it was negotiated to be lower for ly (175) then increased for this year due to cap concerns in 2023, ave salary for three years I believe is about 205k
  19. Last game we started 12 players that weren't with us or hadn't started last year. Posters are calling for Alexander Bighill,Thomas, and at times Kramdl, and now Demski? That makes 17. How did we win a game last year, or this year
  20. Add to that Wheatfall, who should be ready soon
  21. of course....when it helps toronto
  22. Both Adams and Woods have shown they can push the line forward, and with Garbutt in WJ\s effectiveness has gone up quite a bit. The one thing that doesn't change with age is his wing span, which caused numerous problems for bc last game
  23. no more so than any other qb that's gone in for the starter. He's actually shown a lot so far as far as I'm concerned. He wasn't the one that let Leake run for 169 yards
  24. Its about priorities even if we were 6 and 2, we would find things to complain about but its the offence thats costing us games and needs to be addressed more agressively
