your right, the thing that makes ths contract palatable is that having a cdn starting rb allows us to have an import elsewhere. If we were to use a 3rd import on oline it would easily save us 100k or more for a free agent cdn. We have to get away from just pegging in cdns at traditional spots and utilizing cap money by looking at the forest and not just the trees. The best way to get around this is to draft effectively and actually play the younger (cheaper) talent

It appears some teams such as the Bombers utilized it to increase their depth making use of the one game injury to keep additional players on the roster, maybe others held back on more of it to allow them to sign players such as Hatcher and Philpot both of whom received significant bonuses which could be put towards this years sms..(which was smart btw) Originally there was talk of the cflpa trying to make sure the 400k was evenly distributed but lits just as likely as it goes to elite players
