That’s just it. I’m sure we can bring in a few top end Americans in FA if we choose to, but QB, OL and Canadians are really big question marks. You can maybe fix one of those in an offseason but to have to deal with all 3 at once is damn near impossible.

Unless they majorly retool in FA (and even that might not be enough) 2026 will be a 2-4 win season. I don’t see any way out of a full rebuild at this point tbh. Major 2004 vibes.

Yeah from the top this year feels like the organization really dropped the ball and are content with just getting the stadium filled. I think a lot of us were imagining the home Grey Cup being the pinnacle of the last decade spent building up the club at the box office and on the field. Especially after 3 years of close but no cigar. It seemed a given that they would go all out coming into this past offseason, and they just..didn’t do anything.

Co-ordinator maybe but would the DL coach have that much of a say in changing things? I know Patterson is pretty respected and has been here since before the front went to ****.

I feel like they’d be elite with another piece or 2 and far as this season goes, they’re about as top notch as anybody. I just don’t see why they’d risk giving up a younger but experienced backup given BLM’s age.

While unproven, I’d say Powell is the best of the backups. Good luck getting him out of Hamilton this season though. Stamps may be SOL, no one’s out of the race and putting on a fire sale this year.

This game is winnable if the Offence can win TOP and play ball control with no turnovers. Ottawa’s defence isn’t great. Something similar to the game in Montreal could get a W. Can’t keep up with a shootout. If Ottawa wins TOP our front will get eroded as they have been the last 3 weeks.

O gets a few FGs, maybe a TD in the first. D will start off okayish and we’ll be up 3 at the half. DL gets gassed and ineffective and we give up a bunch of points which our vanilla O can’t keep up with. End up losing by 10 or less. Basically the same story in every loss this season.

Agreed. No stunts or twists, nothing. We don’t rotate in guys with different skill sets for opposing o-linemen to worry about. Just gas out the same three guys (all in their mid-30s) so by the 3rd quarter they’re useless. The way we use our D front is the worst aspect of generally bad roster management across the board.
