  1. what?? he said that I was liked... I'm not supposed to be 'ok' with that? lol... come on Skunk, it's all good...
  2. this is my deal... 1) Hall is way to inconsistent with what he wants to do on defense, either that, or, he's unable to coach it to his players in a manner that it is understood and performed... that is, unless they are doing exactly what he expects and that would make him an idiot... 2) Lapo is too full of himself and wants to make players fit his system instead of evaluating his players for their strengths and then formulating a game plan around that... plus, if he gets a lead on any kind he goes into what I call his 'prevent offense', you know, the one that prevents us from winning... 3) neither of these two have shown the ability to go into the locker room and made adjustments at half time... we come right back out and continue doing the same things that didn't work from the first half.... now a lot of people like to let MOS off the hook, but he's the HEAD coach... it's his responsibility to communicate with his coordinators and get corrective measures... that doesn't happen... so, either he's fine with the way things going, which he should be fired for, or, he's unable to effectively communicate what needs to happen, which too he should be fired for... or lastly, which is the worse , he holds no influence over his coordinators and they continue to do as they wish...which again, he should be fired for...
  3. it's been 10 hours but I still feel the same way... my only concession would be is that MOS could stay if Lapo and Hall left... otherwise, Larry, Larry, and his other brother Larry need to go...
  4. oh but you're wrong, it does... even WHEN we will it all, I want the whole lot gone! apples and road maps for them all!
  5. Winnipeg's 64.2 rushing yds per game allowed was #1 ... & in CFL history is #2 all-time after the 54.5 yards allowed by CGY in 1995. also... Winnipeg will set a CFL record by playing in their 117th playoff game (62-52-2 and 22-33 on the road). This playoff contest represents the 1st time that Winnipeg and Calgary have met in a Semi-Final since 1982. Winnipeg brings a fourth straight 10+ win season – the first time they have done that since 1987.
  6. it's time to pass out apples and road maps to all three of them, MOS, Lapo, and Hall... well, after the playoffs anyway...
  7. appreciate the honesty... everyone that I've talked to on message boards about these upstart league always say that it won't have any impact on the CFL... that's generally followed by mocking those that are playing in these other league(s)... and generally putting the whole thing and everyone involved with it... I like the idea of the XFL, but, if I had to choose between it and the CFL... CFL hands down... but I don't think it will impact the CFL too much... I still think the player pool is large enough to provide adequate talent for each league, especially since they lowered the rumored amount of base pay...
  8. I thought you couldn't cut a player while they are on the IR??
  9. oh, almost forgot... Bombers win... 28-21
  10. seriously? $12 playoff tickets? that's insane! I can't imagine buying playoff tickets for $12... I should have flown to Calgary for the game! lol
  11. this is true, this place is a lot better in terms of layout, functionality and features... the other place really needs some updating, but, it does work and at the end of the day gets the job done... seems like message boards in general are on their last leg in favor of social media apps like facebook and twitter... I use to be on facebook years ago but haven't been active there for at least 6 years... then twitter... I don't necessarily see much use in it, or instagram or snapchat, or whatever the cool app of tomorrow may be...
  12. Carter cut? wow, didn't see that coming... said no one, ever...
  13. I hope it succeeds, but then again I have a vested interest as somebody I know will be playing for the Battlehawks... for me, I'm excited for it much for the same reasons that I love the CFL, it's a small league and a person is able to actually follow each team, watch every game every week, and know and follow the players participating... the NFL, the only games I actually watch religiously are the Chiefs games... after that, it's only 'good' match ups until playoffs.. truth be told, it's impossible to follow the NFL like you can the CFL, or soon to be XFL... there are only 5 games on Sunday with 4 of them competing against each other in time slots, then your Monday and Thursday games... of the 16 weekly games you can really only watch 5, unless you're willing to pay the stupid outrageous price that you cable supplier is asking for all games... I watch every CFL game every week... all of them... I follow the CFL way closer than I do the NFL mostly because it easier to do so... and probably the biggest thing is that the players are approachable as they aren't so far removed from reality like the multi millionaire NFL players... after AAF games players would come up to the side of the field and interact with fans... outside the stadium they would stop and talk, take pictures, spend time with the fans and seemed to really enjoy it all... you see them out in the community, acting just you or I would, not all full of themselves... people you can root for and wish success for, at least in my opinion... over the last 3 years I've gotten to know quite a few CFL and AAF players... I want this for them because if you talk to them, all they really want to do is play ball for the fans and the love of the game...
  14. here's a link to our's for the WSF game: Bomber's WSF depth chart
  15. evidently I'm not smart enough to embed a video, lol...
  16. ModAdmin had mentioned recently that there were going to be some enhancements to the place, hopefully that is what this is all about... Zipp, thanks for the update... and thx MBB for allowing the conversation, there are several members that support both...
  17. do I think the XFL will succeed? no, not really... but I do think it has a chance though... but I think you all under estimate the following that the AAF had... for a league that paid 0 dollars on promotion or advertising, they felt word of mouth was sufficient, they had great support in both TV ratings and fans in the seats... that was, until the rumors of the league folding 2 weeks before it did... the one thing that I think he's done wrong from the start though is putting a franchise in LA and New York... too much competition and a tough market in New York... and LA? they've proven that they will not support a football team... ever... not since the Rams of the 70's has LA been able to attract and support a professional football team... but Rod Black is right, the allure is the possibility of owning a franchise worth at least $1 billion each... it always comes down to dead presidents, will one run out before the other shows up is the question...
  18. what the letter doesn't say and why the base salary is a separate total is that those players that sign a contract to play will begin getting paid $1,040 US on 12/4/2019 and will continue to get paid that every week they are with their team thru the first week of May... so, even if you're a training camp bust you're still walking away with some coin in your pocket... also, if you play on a team that goes 5-5, with weekly roster bonus and win bonus you are looking at $55,000 US for the 10 week season if you are on the roster for every game, whether you played or not... the letter does not address playoff bonuses either, which could include up to 3 more games, you can see a player making $80,000 US for their efforts... another thing left out of the letter, partly because it doesn't apply to this player, is that QBs are paid much higher... I believe that $450,000 US is the cap amount set for this position, well within CFL pay range for 'normal' QB signings... plus, there is a $4,000,000 US salary cap per team, so even if you pay your QB top dollar there is still $68,269 US available, on average, to distribute among the rest of the signed players... it has been said that those with prior NFL/CFL experience can sign contracts that exceed the 'minimum' base pay, which makes sense and is validated by the cap amount per team... so, convert that to Canadian dollars and you have a first year guy making almost $80,000 playing for a .500 team, far better than the league minimum for an ELC in the CFL... oh, let's not forgot that this pay is for a 10 game schedule, not 18 games... huge difference when you break down the per game value, almost a $75,000 difference... Vince is trying to do what the CFL has done, come up with a salary that makes the league viable and affordable while paying a player a decent amount while allowing them to continue their professional dreams... sure, we can all scoff at him and make jokes about it, but, those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...
  19. yeah, he looks like a loan officer at the bank, lol...
  20. I always thought that Jim looked more like a business professional than a quarterback, lol... however, you gotta love him and his game...
  21. The interception would have given them worse field position...
