  1. jcon, what part of that did you find confusing?
  2. the last team he walked off the field he had.,..
  3. see, it was a trick question... you passed... lol you're on my team, Booch...
  4. yet Streveler scored enough to have won that game... they gave up 6 first downs in that last Riders drive... 6
  5. would could have finished 1st without him if the defense would have held in the LDC and the Montreal game...
  6. I know what you mean, I would have too... but, it's not like anyone in the Bomber organization would actually act on anything we've said... at least I don't think so... but you know, I think we have some very smart people, both at our place and here... people like to throw the old 'where did you coach at' around a lot but just because you haven't ever coach doesn't mean that you can't understand the game... hell, I wasn't born a millionaire, I figured out how to make it...
  7. Streveler should have gotten the win at the LDC... he got us the lead late in the 4th... I'm not knocking Nichols, just pointing out that he got a soft schedule... I didn't say he played bad, just wasn't some significant feat that he pulled off...
  8. and 115 of those yards were 2 passes to Lucky...
  9. let's make this real simple... you are QB1, you've got 9 games to play, 7 of those 9 with be against either Group A or Group B... Group A: Edmonton, Ottawa, BC, Toronto Group B: Calgary, Sask, Montreal, Hamilton which group do you select and why?
  10. or so it was thought that at the time... and wasn't that the game where Lucky went all super human on them and the defense didn't allow them to score a TD all night long? I think it was... not to hard to beat a team when you defense doesn't give up any TDs...
  11. you saw this, right? "yeah, we'll leave out the part about how 7 of the 9 games (6 of his 7 wins) he played this year were against 4 teams that finished as the bottom 2 teams in each division, or that none of those 4 teams finished over .500 (the best was Edmonton who was 8-10, then BC 5-13, TOR 4-14, OTT 3-15), and those 4 teams finished 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th in points scored this year, or that 3 of the 4 (with a combined record of 12-42) were eliminated from post season play half way thru the season... the rest of the season included 8 of 9 games against the 4 teams that finished 1 and 2 in each division and had a combined record of 50-22 as opposed to 20-52 like the teams Nichols played... we'll keep that as our secret... but yeah, he really smoked them this year... lol..." I seriously doubt that he would have had similar success in the second half of the season... and that's not necessarily a knock against Nichols, just reality... I don't understand how people can believe that what he did this year was that significant...
  12. I'm telling ya, people are strange... I walked through prison yards for 30 years, talk about people who stare at ya, lol... but I had no problem, nor do I today, addressing those that I feel are encroaching on my personal space, lol... but I'm very social, I meet someone everywhere I go... some of my best relationships were with strangers...
  13. I would check from time to time as to how many people were actually viewing the forum and at times there would be a crazy number of people checking it out... 10, 20 times the number of people that actually actively participated in discussion... I guess someone found us interesting from time to time, lol...
  14. you 'd have to take what you read with a grain of salt... after all, it's an anonymous format which allows people to say just about anything they want, whether it be real or true or not... I guess it would be a way to get some unsolicited fan opinion on everyday happenings... I did notice a few weeks back that we were having a discussion on the other place and I had made a statement in regards to a topic, one that I thought hadn't been discussed before and the very next day there was an article on 3 down that was almost word for word what I posted... I thought, that's an odd coincidence...
  15. now that is funny! so, how did you respond to him, address him? "hey dude?" I've had similar issues over the years but they were work related... I worked in a large organization, 14,000 employees and 22 various sites over the whole state... I had to go to each of them every 3 months and chair these meeting... there would be between 15 and 20 people at each of these meetings and I could never remember everybody's name, lol... I just called everyone 'captain'... lol...
  16. I think this year really showed that nobody or any team is safe for the chance of injury to their QB... this year was brutal on QBs...
  17. now I would agree with that... and he showed that for a brief time earlier this year, but, when he struggled at Hamilton early this year Lapo went right back to the dink and dunk and he wasn't the same for the rest of the year... in my opinion anyway... I use to think Lapo did what he did because of Nichols... this year I saw that wasn't the case, it's Lapo holding others back... he does the same with the receivers and the way that he uses them... but, here's the kicker... you willing to pay Nichols north of $450K to keep him and the safe game play that may or may result in playoff success? that's a lot of coin...
  18. I remember that, lol... and he was serious thinking the dude was stalking him... that was the 2017 season I think... like nobody has anything better to do than seek out and stalk fellow forum members, lol... if people want to stalk me I'll give ya my address...
  19. but it also translates into a lot of '2 and outs' , punts, and late game stalls of the offense... it would be nice to be in a position that when you're down in the later half of a game that you actually feel like you have a legit shot of coming back and winning... I didn't get that feeling with Lapo and Nichols... I'm not talking about getting stupid with the ball... but it would help if Lapo had better game plans and scheme for him to work out of that could reduce some of that risk as well... Mitchell and Reilly both throw more INTs than Nichols but you don't hear anyone complaining about them, actually quite the opposite...
  20. he can be a bit of a 'playground football' type of guy but it seems to work for him more times than not... but I'd rather pay him than re-up with Nichols for north of $450K... I guess so... I actually have nothing against Nichols, just don't feel like he is that dynamic type of play maker that will put a team over the top consistently or because of him... he'll win you a lot of regular season games but he hasn't shown me that he's the man to bet on in the big game... plays way to safe and safe equates to average... you might not be losing because of him but you're probably winning in spite of him...
  21. I will admit, I didn't have to live thru the lean years of Bomber football caused by bad QB play... and it is nice to finally be back on the winning side of things primarily because of competent QB play... but for some, you'd think that he has cured cancer or something, lol...
  22. why the 'no' on Masoli? I think we still haven't seen his best ball yet...
  23. I hope you're right... but I think we are now back in a place where we actually have a legit chance to win it all... I am not concerned at all about going into Regina and taking care of business... I think we win going away, and it will be sweet... I agree with you on the Massoli vote... that's where I'd want to see us move if possible but I don't think he'd be interested if Lapo is staying on board... he is totally the opposite of what Lapo wants to do...
  24. since actually meeting and becoming close friends with LDW I hear all kinds of stuff coming from Winnipeg... LDW is still friends and stays in contact with a lot of current and ex Bombers... he doesn't share it all with me and it's not necessarily 'bad'... it's just not my story to tell so I don't feel like it's my place to repeat anything that he might share... but he has shared his experiences with me, both as a Bomber and with other teams, and I will say, at times it is nothing as I had imagined... how things actually work within systems and such... eye opening...
