  1. Winning that game was so sweet! First Grey Cup berth in 22 years. Especially after 1983 in the WCF when Tom Clements separated his shoulder in the 1st half.
  2. None of those players that said hi ever won a Grey Cup for the Bombers but they were great players in their own right. They were proud to wear the Blue & Gold & fans were proud to cheer them on. Without those guys we wouldn't have a team. Like Jonas in 1971, Nichols led a resurgence of the team last season. I'm glad he's our qb & I hope he has continued & further success. BTW, it takes more than a great qb to win a championship... It's a team game.
  3. iHeart, maybe I came down a bit hard on you but you can see from the reaction of the CFL, the comments here & on facebook as well as twitter he was a special coach. I apologize if I came off like a jerk.
  4. iHeart, seriously... sometimes it's best to not say anything at all if you don't know the answer. Do you even know who Don Matthews was? How many games he won, where he sits on the all time coaches winning list & how many Grey Cups he won? How many teams he coached in the Grey Cup? Maybe you should look it up instead of one of us telling you.
  5. Who says we don't want to win??? Of course we do. The team wants to win a championship. The GM, coach & players do. Wbbfan & TBurgess, both your expectations are ridiculous. Win or the season is a failure??? Nichols is a loser. C'mon man, that's just stupid.
  6. Jack Jacobs, Don Jonas, Dieter Brock & Khari Jones say hi.
  7. I don't think it was an "I don't care" look. More like, "I have no clue what to do. Mommy..."
  8. And I guess you're that guy.... Notice no question mark. Go get 'em. Set this coaching staff straight.
  9. Are we really surprised about the shooting in Virginia this morning???
  10. Lots of players get hyped then don't live up it. Cutting Apodaca is no big deal.
  11. Like I had said, nothing here. They made a decision to cut him. Should we question every cut they make & ask why? Chances are, they'll bring in a fourth qb later. They have their 3 qbs & seem happy with them.
  12. Could be. But like I said teams signs free agents so does it really matter? Teams have to keep the qbs they develop. Other than Mitchell, Durant (until Jones showed up) &Lulay, qbs go where the most money or best deal is.
  13. Surely some of you don't think there's a conspiracy here, really? Players get cut.
  14. I guess it doesn't matter who recruits who, it's who ends up starting where.
  15. Neither have about 50% of the teams.
  16. Funny how I remember so many posters that thought Reilly was overrated when he signed with the Eskimos. That he'd never amount to much with Edmonton. Why can't we just be satisfied that the Bombers seems to be on the upswing? That Nichols gives us the best chance to win.
  17. What do you want from Nichols? He got us into the playoffs last year & played very well. The "We Can Do Better" Crowd. Always something to complain about. Never satisfied.
  18. Only O'Shea & LaPo know the score here. Not us. Not going to argue over this.
  19. If Davis does improve & shows he can play then LeFevour will be gone next season & they'll bring in qbs they feel they can develop as the #3.
  20. Look at the Bomber qb'ng situation. Nichols is 30-31 years of age who just signed a big long term deal. He's not going anywhere for awhile unless he totally craps the bed like Willy did. LeFevour must be late 20's & may be just a stop gap answer as I don't think he unseats Nichols anytime soon. He was signed as the veteran qb behind Nichols which may only be for this season. Then there's Dom Davis who is getting into his late 20's. He's the development qb who may take the #2 spot or settle in again at #3. The Bombers really don't need a raw rookie qb to develop right now. They have their 3 qbs. The question is who will be #2? That's why Apodaca was cut.
  21. Again a coach sees potential & then allows it to develop. If he doesn't then a player is cut.
  22. As rookies, yeah. Both had strong arms. Brock was totally clueless about the CFL (probably like Apodaca was) when he first came up here. Knew nothing about it. Both struggled like every other rookie qb in their first training camp with the different rules, wider field, bigger end zones, 3 downs compared to 4, one more man on O & D as well as motion. But that's the point. Had Riley not seen something in Brock, even with his struggles we'd not be talking about a HOF career. Sometimes even just a series in an exhibition game can catch a coaches eye & in turn make a career. I guess O'Shea didn't see any potential in Apodaca. That was my point.
  23. When Dieter Brock came to the Bombers in 1974, that's all he had was a rocket arm. Bud Riley saw something in him he liked. I guess Mike O'Shea didn't see the same potential in Apodaca.
  24. I bought a 32 inch Sharp tv from Best Buy 2 years ago. So far no problems. Nice picture.
  25. Having an offensive line that blocks helped a lot as well.
