Bombers interested in bringing a Soccer Team to Winnipeg?
SpeedFlex27 replied to Goalie's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
How can the team afford this? -
Simonise seems to be the kind of guy who likes to take the easy way out. Gets thrown out of the U of C for academic issues so he didn't seem to study or do the classroom work he needed to do to stay in university. Then he gets caught for using PEDs. Is he really worth the baggage that comes with him? I'm thinking he's not.

He would have been the Sun's best receiver athletic wise so playing sparingly doesn't make a lot of sense. Maybe at the beginning when he arrived in August but he would have been ready to play full time by the end of the regular season. He didn't seem to make much of a difference as the Sun faded down the stretch. It was a huge risk to play junior. All it takes is 1 injury to end a career.

Take it from someone who's been there. Our system is pretty good to excellent. Wait times are an issue but once you're in the care is exceptional.

He's finished junior football. Why did he think going to junior last season from the NFL would be beneficial? He wasn't much of an impact player with the Sun. Scored only one TD I think & maybe 300 plus yards receiving. What if he had blown out a knee or shoulder playing junior football? He'd have been smarter to train full time in the US working on speed, strength & conditioning. As well as working on his pass catching & route running. If the Bengals loved him so much they might have paid for all of that as well. He'll go back now to the Bengals & have to compete not only with the veteran receivers on the roster but the new crop of prospects they're bringing in. It won't be easy as he'll start again from scratch.

The CFL seems intent on trying to start at least 2 & would like 3 on the offensive line. At least it's better than it used to be when teams tried to build offensive lines using all Canadian players. Takes years to build these strong cohesive units & then you have the NFL which screws everything up.

We desperately need a Canadian receiver. I would like us to draft Vandevoort first. Looks like it's not happening though. I think Gray will still be available at #6.
-
Fine let him get a job like everyone else once his NFL football dreams are over.

Here is a list of pre existing conditions not covered. It's not the full list either. Pretty shameful. As Trump's base of aging white men & women get screwed, maybe they'll wake up & see the kind of person they elected to the White House along with the trained Republican seals clapping their fins behind him. http://www.ajc.com/news/local/these-pre-existing-conditions-could-cost-you-big-bucks-under-new-health-care-bill/THHXBB8yUMSXV8ZugZT6FK/

Only if Laing signs a multi year deal. Not these 1 year deals where he leaves to try the NFL. And fails.

I can't forsee us doing what the Riders did last year with their first overall pick. Walters isn't as nuts as the guys in Saskatchewan.

So much great talent just kicked out the door all across the country. It's sad.
-
Agreed. It's not like there are daily media opportunities to cover sports in Winnipeg everyday. Especially with the shrinking market thanks to our media Toronto only centric media ******* companies controlling things now.

Read on CNN (fake news)* website that the Republicans rammed the AHC through Congress just to pass the bill. They felt it was better to pass a flawed bill that will negatively affect 44 million people than not pass anything at all. That's how much the Republicans care about the people they claim to represent. Better to not have egg on their faces than make sure people have health care coverage. Pretty shameful. Hopefully, in 2018 these same people they hurt will rise up & throw them out. *Yeah right

I have had 4 major reconstructive foot surgeries due to arthritis on both my feet since 2012. I also have arthritis in both knees & will need both my knees replaced. Some of it is due to injuries I received years ago (knees) but my feet were always fine until a decade ago when I began to suffer horrible pain & my feet actually began to deform & become crooked. Walking becamse painful. Every step excruciating. Arthritis like this runs in my family. My father had the same problems I've had with his feet yet my brother's feet are fine so it's the luck of the draw. In the US, because I have pre existing conditions I would not have coverage for any surgery relating to my feet & knees. I also had a bone infection after my last foot surgery in July 2015 & was off work for 18 months because of it. The surgeries & complications as well as ongoing treatment due to infection would have cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars in the US. I probably would have lost my left leg because of the infection. Or perhaps even died. Yet, for all the care I received, after I left the hospital as well as the infectious disease centre I paid no bills. I didn't have to sell my car, house or go into bankruptcy to be treated. The Americans can have their private co-pay health care system... Phooey.

The Republican Congress killed Obamacare. Not because it was the best thing for Americans but because it didn't serve private insurers well. American politicians don't care about the constituents they claim to serve. But they do care about who funds their campaigns. Or they'd have gone to a universal one payer health care system like ours decades ago. Now insurers can charge older Americans more & insure less people, especially those with pre existing conditions. A very dark day for a lot of Americans. We should be thankful for our Canadian health care system. Warts & all,

Have you ever done sports, Noeller? Or wanted to move into that area of broadcasting?

Around The League Off Season Discussion

I'd have liked to see Gurley back as well. -

Lawless isn't dumb. He can see what's happening to sports media in this country thru the cuts by Rogers, Bell Media & Postmedia. He could have awakened next week with no job. Here he has security which he probably never had with TSN.
-
C'mon Fella.... Cesaro is probably one of the best pure wrestlers in the WWE & they're wasting his talents as well keeping him down. But Vince says let's keep pushing Roman. Eventually the fans will accept it. Not.

I've cut back posting immensely here. I have my sanity back. Yes, too much even of a good thing isn't healthy.

Seth had such a great opportunity a year ago & they blew it. He'll never get it back. Look at what they did to Reigns. Fans are chanting "Thank you Braun" & nothing changes. As far as The Miz goes, you're right that he's been a joke for years & now he's getting the big push. Even if The Miz is doing the best work of his career, I still don't care & never will. To me, they booked him as a mid carder. He'll never be anything else. At least the writers are getting it right with Sheamus & Cesaro. Their explanation (storyline) of why they turned on The Hardy Boys made sense & to be honest with you, they will do very well as heels.

Too much of something, even a good thing is a bad thing.

US historian believes that Trump will stage a fascist coup before 2020 in an attempt to remain President. http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/donald-trump-trying-to-stage-a-coup-and-overthrow-democracy-is-inevitable-says-top-us-historian/ar-BBABDWa?li=AAggFp5
