You know why? Because they actually play a very good defensive system where the Jets just aren't good at all defensively.  They have Keith Seabrook Chalmarson *spelling* 3 pretty good defensively strong d men. Our best d man? A rookie. Our 2nd best? Probably Trouba.

Jets have this 1 guy who goes out on the ice and is allowed to basically do what he wants to do in buff... I'm actually amazed at how good Morrissey has been defensively considering that playing with Buff is like playing with 4 forwards on the ice.

Chicago plays a very structured system. I'm not convinced the jets play any sort of system  at all. Looks like man on man actually and that hasn't worked in a very long time

Need a young innovative up and coming coach on this team.

Yes, a rookie HC with "lots of promise" is just what this team needs. Some of the underperforming veterans will really have a run of the dressing room with an inexperienced head coach in place. He'll come cheap though so I wouldn't be surprised if this happens. ;)

The timeline he's on right now probably makes his next contract the big payday if he ever lands one in the CFL, so hypothetically we're putting off that pay raise from 2016 to 2017.  I wish they signed more players to 3 year deals.  If we had a talented NI Olineman with a bright future, I'd be thrilled if they did 4 or 5 year deals.  But the PA tends to frown on those.

At one time the owners had all the pull & now it's gone the other way to the players side which isn't good either. I know some people feel we should sign all or most of our players to 1 year deals to get talent to come to the CFL but fans are having a hard time identifying with players being up here a season, maybe 2 & then they leave. The freedom to move around has come at a cost & we see that in the stands with decreased attendance & stagnant or slightly better numbers in viewership on TSN. I'd like to see longer term deals signed by veteran players. Especially those going into their second & third contracts.

Brandon Stewart, Johnny Sears, Chris Garrett, Greg Carr, Alex Suber, TJ Harris, Kelly Butler, Andre Douglas, Moton Hopkins, Marcellus Bowman, Deon Beasley, Demond Washington, Alex Hall, Chad Simpson, Zach Anderson, JT Gilmore, Ian Wild, Taylor Reed, Jamayel Smith, Michel PontBriand, Bryant Turner, Jason Vega, Chris Matthews, Clarence Denmark, Wallace Miles

All of the above were Mack recruits, the highlighted all had or are having very good careers.

You didn't mention the other guys. There was a reason we won 3 games in 2013.

Mack in a limited role could be deadily good.

Im a little surprised at steinauer. I thought he was a blue chipper at DC up here, and with another year or two would be a prime candidate for a HC job. I get when guys take HC jobs in the NCAA. you can make fantastic money, and have incredible job security for a coach. Combined with full control over your team and system. Not to mention coaching college guys is often considered easier then the pros. The lateral move going down is a bit of a shocker.

Not when you Steinhauer can get a pension, health & education benefits. He'll probably get paid more money & in US dollars. Then it makes all kind of sense. The CFL would retain more coaches if it brought in assistant coach benefits but it doesn't. Benefits for assistant coaches have been discussed for many years as a way to keep bright young coaches in the CFL & nothing ever changes.

I pressed them little white arrows and they didn't work.  I think they is broken.

Worked for me. It proved that Nichols while he makes some mistakes can also make great throws too. Just like all the other starters can as well. I think given another year as the starter in LaPolice's offense he will improve upon last year.

Yea gotta agree here.. if your shoulder is toast, it throws EVERYTHING else off not to mention the pain from having a fouled joint. I buggered my rotator cuff in a car accident and took me forever to get strength and flexibility back.    Couldn't imagine if it was my actual shoulder joint

Not only that but imagine like Khari Jones that throwing the football is how you get paid as a pro athlete? It's over.

The shoulder isnt a start or stop point for mechanics. Throwing with a bad shoulder hurts. It doesnt change how  you throw. The motion is too quick for you to be effected directly by the pain. the shoulder has 0 impact on throwing strength.

Thats why tons and ton and tons of young kids tear their elbows apart while still throwing hard and well in little league + levels of baseball. The pain and shoulder have minimal effect on the mechanics. Unless you have a piece of debris stopping you from using your normal slot/release point forcing you to throw the ball entirely different. Which khari did not.

Please stop before you sound even more foolish. I don't like saying this but truly you have no clue.

Glenn would be a stop-gap until the "next one" arrives and probably couldn't advance the team in the play-offs any further than Nichols.

Next one? Do you mean since the Tom Clements or Khari Jones eras? We don't have the greatest reputation in finding & developing our own quarterbacks, do we? We never found or developed those 2. The last one actually was Dieter Brock, I believe.

I've had the same thought, if Walters strikea out with both Nichols and Durant he's playing with fire.  Can't realistically bank on Franklin or Burris coming to Wpg., so the best case scenario would be if Glenn takes over and shows that he is still capable of putting wins on the board, which really wouldn't surprise me with a good team around him.  I think he could run LaPo's cautious  style O just as well as Nichols in time.

Glenn can play but I'd rather have him around as insurance as a solid backup.

I'm actually not saying that Nichols is a bad QB... he just reminds me of Glenn.

The difference between average QBs and star-power QBs is bonus $$... Nichols prob gets around $275-300k base (prob $125-150k of this in signing bonus) with bonus up to $425-450k (obviously including grey cup win...)

Sorry, but I disagree. Remember that Nichols saved  Walters & O'Shea's careers. They're loyal & he'll get paid.

  11. Quarterback salaries are going up whether fans like it or not. They may think that $400,000 a year is too much but the real elites in the CFL will be making a half million a year. My advice to Bomber fans? Stop hoping Kyle Walters will sign Nichols for less than $400,000 a year as he won't. No capable free agent starter like Durant will come here for less, they'll want more. Nichols has said that he wanted $450,000 a year. That means he won't sign for under 4. They can negotiate anywhere between 4 & 450 but it won't be under 4.

Everything everyone is saying about the D in that game is true, but also doesn't take away from the fact that Nichols and the offense stunk in the second half.

LOL! If Durant signs in Saskatchewan or leaves as a free agent & signs somewhere else & then Nichols leaves here as well it won't just be quarterbacking that stinks with the Bombers. It'll be all over before it starts. Hello, 2015. How've ya been?
