  1. RedBlacks (Desjardins) taking a beating on twitter for denying the Riders permission to speak to Elizondo. All tweets saying Desjardins is being petty & unfair by not allowing him an opportunity to be a HC. They must all be Rider fans. It's nearly February & why should Ottawa hurt themselves to help Saskatchewan?
  2. I'd love to see the old Winnipeg to Minneapolis snowmobile race come back. That race was world famous.
  3. It came down to me between Buddy Tinsley & Stan Mikawos. I went with the HOFer as it separated the 2 in my mind. You said a guy like D I c k Huffman doesn't deserve the award because he played in an era of smaller, less athletic & slower players then why even nominate players from the 50's & earlier? Just make it the past 30-40 years & be done with it. You are too quick to dismiss these players as non factors. The only thing that makes them non factors is the fact no one here ever saw them play. Again, just responding to your comments.
  4. No one will sign him after what he did. The CFL GMs are a closed society. They may compete but they're all friends. He wrote his own ticket outta town when he stole that $70,000.
  5. Had to think about this. Doug Brown is a given. But the second player?? I considered Joe Fleming as well as John Helton but those 2 players really made their names as Stampeders not as Blue Bombers. Then there was Stan Mikawos, a local boy who had a distinguished career as a Blue Bomber with 2 Grey Cup victories on his resume. I had nominated Joe Critchlow who was an outstanding DT in his own right but in the end I had to vote for 2 HOFers in Brown & Buddy Tinsley.
  6. This should be Bud Grant's award with Cal Murphy as his OC & Mike Riley on D. In that coaching order.
  7. Nah, he showed his true character. That he can't be trusted. He's a liar. He wants to still play? Pay the $ back or let him rot. Teach him a real lesson.
  8. Well **** him. I hope he rots wanting to play One. More. Year.
  9. I hope we do as he had no intentions of ever playing for us.
  10. Sorry to see Ian leave. He gave everything on the field as a Blue Bomber.
  11. Snowmobiling in the Rockies & doing it in Manitoba are 2 different things but as you say it's a dangerous sport. But knowing something is dangerous & being reckless are also two different things. I think you know the difference.
  12. Doesn't he become a FA on Feb 12th?
  13. The 2 people killed were father & son. I can't imagine what their family must be going through.
  14. Apparently from what I've seen on twitter, Pederson has been hired as an on air sports personality at the Fan 960 here in Calgary which will probably go over like a lead balloon as he has criticized both Stamps fans & the players for years.
  15. Except if you're the AD at SFU.
  16. I never said it was the snowmobile's fault. It isn't alive. It's a machine. It was the asshat operating his that killed the other 2. Just a tragedy that never should have happened especially with all the avalanche warnings in Western AB & SE BC.
  17. High marking is when a rider goes up a steep mountain slope as far as he can & going back down without overturning or falling off his machine. That's what that idiot did & it triggered an avalanche that swept the other 2 away. Update to the story below: The body of the missing rider was later found in a lake nearby by RCMP divers. https://globalnews.ca/news/4844178/one-dead-another-missing-after-snowmobilers-trigger-avalanche-near-invermere/
  18. So, a group of 7 Calgary snowmobilers were out in the mountains near Invermere, BC this past Saturday afternoon. One of the snowmobilers went off the trails & started to high mark on the mountain triggering an avalanche that killed 2 of them. I wonder how he's feeling these days knowing he killed two buddies? Totally irresponsible. The entire Rockies have been on avalanche alert the past couple of weeks. shouldn't have been doing what he did. Every winter, a number of snowmobilers die in avalanches out here.
  19. I met Robin Ross when he was HC at Western Washington in Bellingham, WA. My son was considering playing there. We had some discussions & he may have gone there but WW dropped their football program suddenly & that ended that. Ultimately, Simon Fraser took their place. My son ended up playing at SFU three years later so in a sense he did kind of play there. A lot of alumni involved with SFU never understood why the AD at SFU never hired Ross. He knew the Conference SFU played in, the teams & he knew how to win. He was available & the AD at the time hired other guys with no success.
  20. If they lose Reilly...
  21. Does that mean he's gone? is it still Xmas?
