  1. Hal Blaine from The Wrecking Crew may have been the best drummer who ever lived. You may not know who Hal Blaine was but chances are you know his music without knowing why. He was part of the greatest collection of studio musicians who played on thousands of records with many different recording artists & bands. Blaine who was 90 when he passed away 2 days ago claims he sat in on 35,000 recording sessions & played on over 6,000 albums & 45's. Most of his studio work was uncredited. Record companies back then didn't want the general public to know that bands like the Beach Boys & The Byrds didn't play on their albums. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/q/blog/the-greatest-drummer-ever-from-elvis-to-the-beach-boys-17-of-hal-blaine-s-most-unforgettable-hits-1.5053516
  2. But the player(s) will get ripped off financially because no other team can draft him or them so their earning power will be negatively affected. Why do we need territorial picks anyway? It won't cause any great rush for kids to play.
  3. Bill Frank. The man was a monster at LT back in The Day. Frank & Walby may have been the 2 most dominant tackles to play for the Bombers. Walby at RT & Frank at LT. Please add Bill Frank at Tackle. Buddy Brown also deserves to be on that list at Guard. Bill Frank towering over DE Wayne Smith, His Rough Rider opponent.
  4. And the Canadian media who are (IMO) just a little too happily zealous when reporting about former CFL players from the 70's who have no idea how to use their smart phones or unable to perform simple tasks anymore. Parents read that & don't let their kids play football.
  5. Like Atlantic Canada that just can't compete anymore.
  6. Again, it's a numbers thing. If less kids play the sport in HS because Mom is terrified her child will scramble his brains, it won't matter about training better NI's, unfortunately. The talent pool is reduced.
  7. This is absolutely shameful. Progressives used to say don't vote for Harper as he has an "agenda". What agenda does Trudeau & the Fiberals have to cover this up?
  8. Football participation is down in community & high schools that feed CIS programs across the country. How are teams supposed to start 7 Canadians when less players play collegiately. that is going to have a negative impact in the years to come. Here in Calgary a number of high schools dropped their grade 10 JV teams last year & didn't finish the season. They just forfeited their games because they couldn't field enough players to safely play. How can you say it's lazy when the numbers are dropping?
  9. I always thought Harlem Heat was a great tag team.
  10. Well, they talk nice so far.
  11. I'm hoping after the election in October he'll be as extinct t as the last one.
  12. Wait'll the RedBlacks fans get a look at the craptastic qbs they have.
  13. It's Trudeau. There is nothing savvy about that snake.
  14. LOL. Johnny Rivers sings about a snake. Trudeau is The Snake.
  15. Enzo isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.
  16. The only league other than the old AFL that could have given the NFL a run for its money would have been the USFL. Some cities were drawing fairly well. But then Donald Trump decided he wanted the USFL to become a fall league & compete directly with the NFL which probably would have been suicide anyway. When the USFL was awarded $1 in damages by a federal judge in the USFL's anti trust trial the league folded & Trumps hate was on for the NFL. I'm sure some owners like Trump wanted a merger of some kind but didn't get it.
  17. I remember the WLAF as it was called then. All teams were in the States. The attendance was... guess what?? Abysmal. (Some things never change). Moving to Europe extended the life of that league.
  18. It wasn't a bad idea but running a developmental league is expensive. It was much better run than the AAF.
  19. Bob Pickering Saskatchewan skip 1969 McDonald Brier who was famous for the big windup. When I was a junior player, I tried that once & almost killed myself coming out of the hack.
  20. hard to believe a Vulcan would get upset over comments like that meant to insult. I thought the comment "half breed" was so 1960's as it's a term that was common back then but uncommon now. A throwback to TOS.
  21. Hate the format of the Brier now. Two pools & a WC team. That's what I hate. Especially the WC team. No interest in watching anymore. I know you like the WC team but I feel if you can't get out of your province for the Brier then go back & keep curling in the pro tour. It's a very confusing format.
  22. Story today that the NFLmay loan the AAF some qbs. I wonder what player safety & the NFLPA think of that? I doubt if they'd let this go through. The league is absolutely incapable of standing on its own.
