  1. Coming over the middle trying to catch a high pass with one hand. Hey, what possibly could go wrong?
  2. What I've been saying. Our American receivers aren't helping Nichols play better. I know the play you speak of. Our qb is in trouble & they do nothing to help him out. Somehow that's on Nichols? Either these receivers don't work hard enough to get open or they can't.
  3. Okay question, if Streveler should play & doesn't because O'Shea won't let him & we keep losing going status quo, should O'Shea be fired at seasons end?
  4. I truly do like Wolitarsky. He could be a really good receiver if we continue to use him.
  5. I think just about every qb would have a hard time finding Lankford, but I digress. I get your point, though.
  6. Same here... The cops are warning they'll be out in full force with their radar guns in Calgary today. But if you choose to speed in a school zone you deserve what you get.
  7. First of all, Trestman knows qbs as he has been one & coached them for over 20 years so he knows what to look for at that position. Secondly, MBT is 30 years old & has been around in pro football on more than a few teams so he has a bit of trust that he can read defense & understand terminology. MOS was a linebacker. He never took a snap as a qb so he doesn't have the insight into that position like Trestman does. Our HC relies on others for coaching advice. He obviously feels from the input of Pierce & LaPo that Streveler isn't ready to take over. That's my take.
  8. Potatoes or potahtoes? He hasn't thrown for 405 yards either or won POTW twice.
  9. Joey Elliott threw for 406 yards & a TD with a 32-25 win over the Hamilton Ti Cats in Aug 2012. On the season, he threw for 2101 yards & 5 TDs. Was named CFL Player Of The Week twice that year. Streveler hasn't done that.
  10. I can't either. Having said that, this offense is incapable of doing that. From poor qb play to poor receivers to bad play calling & preparation as well as a lack of adjustments, everyone associated with the Bomber offense has to take the blame. Funny how football is called the ultimate team game yet people dump on Nichols because they say he's the only problem & overlook everyone else's mistakes. Is Nichols playing badly? Yeah but he has company on the field & in the coaches booth upstairs.
  11. I wonder why Schultz never went back to TSN.
  12. He was the goat of the game, wasn't he?
  13. Great teams have that. Could the Bombers win a game like that? I have my doubts.
  14. Oh, Adams can start for sure on other teams but I don't think he's a Derrell Walker type guy or a Kamar Jordan type player. He'd fit right with the Stamps & the Esks no question. I think it's too much to expect him to be our go to guy downfield which is what he is now when we throw deep. Our problem is the receiving depth behind Adams at the #2 & #3 positions. Thompkins may turn out to be very good but as is the Bombers way, it'll take us to November to find out.
  15. The scary part is just how much worse our D would be without Bighill.
  16. Adams may start but on some teams he wouldn't be the #1 receiver. He's a solid #2 but in our offense he's #1. With Thompkins, you have to wonder why wouldn't LaPo have designs around him? Head scratcher. As far as Wolitarsky goes, he's starting to get involved in the offense a bit more. Almost like LaPo has had an ephinany… "Hey that guy can actually catch". I do disagree when you say WR talent is far down the list of problems on this team. It's a problem. If it isn't then LaPo isn't putting them in a position to be successful.
  17. The only thing I'll say about Bob is that after hanging around the team's practices, talking to head coaches from Bud Riley to Mike O'Shea, interviewing players, assistant coaches, sitting in on player meetings watching film & now video broken down by the coaches for 45 years he has to have learned more than a few things about the game.
  18. Stamps look lackadaisical today not playing in fifth gear. Their RB Don jackson just gave up a fumble & the Esks scored to tie it. We know though what they are capable of it they ramp it up. That knee injury to Walker may he serious. If he's out that'll be a huge blow to the Esks passing game.
  19. I know expectations were high coming into this season but in the back of my mind with Ritchie Hall as DC & a chronically weak receiving corps I can't say I'm surprised. We can't float thru games like the Stamps do getting by on just talent. We have to work hard & everything must go our way in all 3 phases of the game for us to win. I was always afraid that the season would go this way even though I hoped it wouldn't. I wonder if I was the only fan feeling that way?
  20. All about performance. Too bad coaches aren't judged so harshly & their windows closed as quickly.
