  1. They're trying to be like Charles Barkley & Shaq. I'm not a Kate Bierness & Davis Sanchez fan. Both of them bring down the panel. It's always yuk, yuk, yuk with them both.
  2. Murphy reminds me of Jason Kenney. Thinks he's the smartest pompous ass in the room when he's not.
  3. I feel the same way, What better way to hide someone than to give him an imaginary job with an imaginary team.
  4. Another #7 who showed flashes but things never quite came together for him in Winnipeg, Shreveport or Edmonton. Tom Muecke. He died in 2016 of a sudden heaart attack at age 52 leaving behind his wife & 2 kids.
  5. When it comes to Don Jonas, I was, still am & always will be an unabashed fan boy & I'm proud of it.
  6. I think Don Jonas was the most popular player the Bombers ever had, Jack Jacobs may have built the House (Winnipeg Stadium). Ken Ploen may have been the winner of 4 Grey Cups. However, Jonas was a sociable guy who people immediately liked as he connected with them. His play as a qb brought the Bombers back from the financially dead. They went from averaging around 10,000 fans a game in 1970 to 25,000 by 1972 at Winnipeg Stadium. Bomber home game tickets became a hot item. When they went on sale, the games would sell out in two or 3 days. Jonas did public service announcements, local commercials, was a spokesperson for different charities in Winnipeg, a sought after keynote speaker at banquets during the off season, curled in the media league which endeared him to Jack Matheson & even acted in a play at MTC. He could have ran for Mayor & won. Incumbent Mayor at the time Steve Juba certainly was glad he didn't. People loved the guy. There's been no one like him since.
  7. With Tillman coming off of that sexual misconduct charge in Regina with his babysitter, he got a second chance to resume his GM duties in Edmonton. Then he pulled this stunt... errr... trade sending Ray to the Argos. With his reputation shattered from his time in Regina, it's no wonder people thought this was a shady deal & money may have changed hands under the table because the trade made zero sense. Tillman was eventually fired as Edmonton's GM only to resurface in Hamilton a couple of years later as someone behind the scenes as a consultant. It was his last stop in the CFL. He's gone now.
  8. I remember the Ray trade. It was so one sided in the Argos favour that people wondered what Esks/Elks GM Eric Tillman was doing.. There was speculation that more was going to come from the Argos but it never did. Fans also thought that the Argos may have paid Tillman under the table to get that trade done. Did that happen? I don't think that question was ever answered.
  9. Thank you. Glad things are working out for you. I have a hard time accepting that good things can happen to me. As in, I deserve it. Even though I feel at times I don't. I used to feel I wasn't good enough to be happy.
  10. As soon as Kenney won he thought he was the smartest guy in the room. He stopped listening & ran a top down govt when most of his base expected a grassroots bottom up political party. He brought in a lot of people from Ontario to run the govt & it alienated a lot of Albertans. The policies & style of government Kenney ran didn't connect with a lot of Albertans.
  11. That would have been absolutely terrible to deal with. It's something you never get over.
  12. I haven't been spitballin' mad here for years now. I've worked hard to calm down & reign it in a lot as I know that I can be a difficult poster to deal with & have been in the past. I'm not perfect as I still have my moments but I try everyday to be better as well as gain people's trust here. Not that I want anyone to feel sorry for me but a lot of the anger I have/had was from anxiety & depression which I've suffered from for years all the way back to Grade 10 when I first had suicidal thoughts as school for me that year was an abysmal failure. Or just suck it up!! It went undiagnosed for decades. It was always, "He has a bad temper." Well, yes & no as it was more than that. But when you feel some days like you're going to die if you leave the house, it's a tough life not knowing why. I was so angry, nervous & sad all the time. I've sought professional help & it is helping. Anyway, enough! I don't want to be the person here I used to be.
  13. Watched the entire game & somehow missed that. But it's not like TSN would tell us who's kicking as Nielsen & Suitor just keep yapping all game long.
  14. I was surprised Mourtada wasn't used on Tues night.
  15. In 2017, Matty could throw. His injury didn't occur until 2019. It's LaPo's style of offense. It's his comfort zone.
  16. I think he'd get more money signing in the CFL.
  17. Buck also challenges the opposing defenses with a much more vertical passing offense. If he can beat you deep he'll take that shot whereas with LaPo it's spread the field, run the **** out of the ball with Harris, screens & checdowns. Or throw three or four yards short of a first down & let the receiver get it on his own. He' was conservative & hardly ever took chances with his playcalling. How many times were we ten points ahead at the half only to sit on a lead in the 3rd & 4th quarter? To me, LaPo played not to lose. Buck plays to win. Huge difference.
  18. Surprised both teams played all rookies. I figured the Riders would come out with their first stringers, jump all over us, get the big lead & then sub in the rooks. Like Calgary did to BC. So, I'll give props to Craig Dickenson for having a plan & sticking to it. In Calgary, they were up something like 46-7 & blitzed the BC rookie qb Thompson & he was seriously injured. Big controversy that the Stamps should have mercied the Lions & not blitz hard late in the game. Stamps say they were just doing what all defenses do. When asked, Dave Dickenson said football is a tough game. & injuries are unfortunate. My feeling is that Thompson needed to see some blitzes so he could recognize them as part of his development. It's too bad he got hurt but no one other than Lions fans would say it was a deliberate attempt to injure him. I never saw the play so I can't judge.
  19. LaPo is supposed to be this QB Guru which I never understood. He never played QB. Especially since he was a D3 receiver in college. Much like Jacques Chapdeliane who was a slot in the CFL & whose offense is a nightmare for qbs to learn & understand.
  20. Well done,Mike. We salute you.
