Trevor Harris who missed one game & just had a bye has played 4 games, Nathan Rourke, Davis Alexander & Dru Brown have all played 3 games, the same as Collaros. Both had been out more than one game with injuries. Alexander is still out. All have more yards passing yards than Collaros. It just shows how anemic our passing game is. Meanwhile, Ken Lawler puts on a pass receiving clinic every week. GP: 5 Bo Levi Mitchell, Tiger Cats, 1,485 yards, 11 tds, 1 int GP: 5 Vernon Adams, Stampeders, 1,453 yards, 5 tds, 5 int GP: 5 Nick Arbuckle, Argos, 1,449 yards, 7 tds, 7 int GP: 4 Trevor Harris, Riders, 1,231 yards, 6 tds, 3 ints GP: 3 Dru Brown, RedBlacks, 1,012 yards, 5 tds, 2 ints GP: 5 Tre Ford, Elks, 950 yards, 5 tds, 2 ints GP: 3 Nathan Rourke, Lions, 925 yards. 5 tds, 2 ints GP: 3 Davis Alexander, Alouettes, 803 yards, 5 tds, 2 ints GP: 3 Zach Collaros, Blue Bombers, 801 yards 6 tds, 4 ints

Zach is in 9th place as a starting passer in the CFL. Our passing game is terrible. Yeah, Lawler is worth it. One deep ball to him & the game changes.

It's a great day when the Riders lose so I enjoyed this game immensely. As far as the Stamps goes, the season is a marathon & not a sprint. We'll see if the Stamps can maintain this pace. The Stamps come into our House next week. If they beat us again then I'll believe they're for real...

One yard line.

I live in YYC so the signal doesn't make it. Online, I listen to classic rock when I'm on my laptop. But radio is getting really bad.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

I know we're a bit off topic here but the Bombers had a true hero play for them in the 1930's. His name was Jeff Nicklin. He was from Fort William, Ontario but moved to Winnipeg. He grew up in Lord Roberts & lived on Rathgar Avenue. He got married at St. Albans Anglican Church in Lord Roberts. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 & trained to be a paratrooper. I grew up on the other side of Osborne Street in Riverview so I'm proud knowing that Nicklin who heroically sacrificed everything for this country lived in the same area where I grew up. The Jeff Nicklin Trophy is given to the Western Division's MOP. Last year, Brady Oliveira won it. If you don't know who Jeff Nicklin was then please read this. https://westenddumplings.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-greatest-blue-bomber-youve-never.html -
People like me who remember the 60's & 70's are dying off. That's why classic rock stations now play Eminem. There's no more Birds, Animals or Rascals being played.

I appreciate your support of my CFL History group page on Facebook. Not to be mistaken for the copycat Canadian Football History page started by someone else. -
Just a quick comment regarding the postponed game last night. The CFL & CFLPA said it was too dangerous to play due to smoke. Yet, the league made 27000 people sit outside in that same noxious smoke for over 4 hours while TSN, the CFL & CFLPA couldn't get their **** together to make a call to postpone the game so people could get out of the smoke.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

Last time we had a streak like this was in 1972. The CFL had 16 regular season games back then. The Bombers sold out 7 of their 8 regular season home games. Capacity at Winnipeg Stadium as it was called back then was 25,210. The only game that wasn't sold out was the Montreal Alouettes on a cold & very rainy (mixed with snow) late September eveningt when 22,000 fans showed up for the game. Including Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau who was in Winnipeg to meet with Premier Ed Schreyer. -

His buddy James West should be in there as well. -
Dustin Crum

He plays the same all the time, No sense of urgency. He does put up big yards in a losing cause, like Harris.
-
The HC signs off on everything. He has the last word. The DC may have certain personnel he wants to play but if Coach says no, it's no.
-
Who is the guy with the droopy head who looks asleep in his stance? Jake Thomas the guy with the third highest reps on the team. Jeezus.
-
Brandon Alexander & Collaros was hurt as well. However, I get starting Collaros even with a bum ankle. Posters here going after the members they think complain too much & then they throw up shade making excuse after excuse actually keeping the merry go round going. The coaching decisions cost us those Grey Cups. The 2023 Grey Cup with all the injured players, especially with Biggie playing on one leg, Schoen barely able to run & was a non factor...etc, etc. Last year playing Collaros with a severed finger on his throwing hand. That's all coaching decisions.
-
Osh didn't move on from those guys because he felt there were better players available. The injuries forced him to. If Biggie could play at 45 years of age & run a 6.5 forty & have a vertical jump of 9 inches then he'd start.

Schoen (bad knee still favouring), Wheatfall (great potential still learning. Can't be depended upon yet to make the great contested downfield catches), Demski (great old pro who get by with guile & experience. Isn't the same guy he was even 2 yrs ago) & Clercius (may be a diamond). I rate them 9th. Didn't have to be that way, either.
