We'll see what happens. Liegghio was very highly touted coming out of university and did all three jobs effectively. He still holds the U Sports record for most field goals all-time. I'd be very surprised if the Bombers move on, but if it helps the team im all for it. I think the two new guys would have be be significantly better than Liegghio to unseat him. I just dont see it happening. We'll see what Liegghio does friday i suppose.

At times sure, but ever punter does. You dont think these two guys will struggle at times with height and placement too? Theyve never played a meaningful snap in the CFL.

Yes i did watch the game last week, and the global/American guys were good, but IMO for the reasons stated in my previous post i dont think they release Liegghio. I do think they want to challenge him big time and hope he rises to it. I honestly would be fine with seeing Liegghio gone, but i just dont think the Bombers will do it. Lets not forget he was the best kicking prospect to come out of Canada in like 20+ years. His punting average last year was 46.9. Schmitz, who "kicked the hell out of the ball" as you say last game had an average of 49.5. Sheahan was at 48.3. I dont think 2.6 yards more per average is going to send Liegghio to the unemployment office. If he Sh**s the bed on friday it may be a different story, but his punting is actually pretty good.

Im no Liegghio fan, but he was 5th best in punting average last season. Unless one of these other guys is the second coming of Bob Cameron Liegghio isnt going anywhere.

As much as O'Shea makes it sound like the punting is wide open, i cant fathom any scenario where Liegghio isnt the week 1 punter. The fact that he's a decent punter, his passport, he can place kick in an emergency, and the amount of time they have invested in him means he sticks around IMO. No way he's cut and they go with a global/American punter.

He was only 27 yards shy of breaking the all time single game rushing record. Noticed this snippet in a Vancouver Sun article following the game which makes it sting even more: "And it could have been worse. Reid had a 24-yard touchdown run called back because he had neglected to sit out the required three plays following an injury to his hamstring". Oh so close!- Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread
My buddy was at that game in B.C. with his girlfriend on a road trip and was going nuts lol. While slightly inebriated he even pulled out the infamous "BEAT THE TRAFFIC" key jingling chant as B.C. fans were leaving in droves early in the 4th quarter lol.- Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread
I actually remember going on a roadtrip to Alberta in August of 2007 with a buddy and listening to the Ti-Cat/Bomber game on the way where Lumsden fed McKinley his lunch. Check out Lumsden's stats lol: 2007-08-03 Game Tracker - Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1417) - CFL.ca If im not mistake both of his TD runs were over 50 yards lol. Indeed. Its just a shame he couldnt have gotten his s**t together at an earlier age. He could have legit been a star. He was dynamite with the Longhorns and would have had NFL looks if it werent for his issues/attitude.- Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread
Anyone remember Ramonce Taylor?? He was electric. I remember watching him light up training camp, seemingly taking it to the house every time he touched the ball. But had behavioral problems. I believe at one point his mother actually came to talk with the coaches asking them to keep their son around after he had some disciplinary issues. He lasted all of 2 weeks. Another athlete with all the talent in the world but was just an a**hole.- Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread

I once won a bet that Jade Etienne would never amass more career receiving yards than the legendary Aaron Hargreaves. It was a bold bet on my part considering Hargreaves was hot garbage but Etienne proved to be hotter garbage in the long run.- Pre-season Game 1 : Bombers vs. L(k)’s GDT

I was there for a couple hours yesterday. It was getting pretty heated. Nearly had a scrap between WR 71? and DB 17? during one-on-ones. Holm with ANOTHER INT during scrimmage. He has had an amazing camp. Lawler doing Lawler things with an amazing catch, i missed him. Nothing else really stood out.- 2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)
No, he was actually good. Pretty sure it was Ricky Williams.- Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
