  1. The XFL is league that has played fewer games EVER than the CFL played in 2019. What's the plan for 2021, CFL?
  2. The white-hoods have mostly gone to their alt-right forums now.
  3. https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/video/~2157440 CFL to explore opportunities for alignment with XFL The CFL and XFL owners Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and RedBird Capital announced that they have agreed to work together to identify opportunities for the leagues to collaborate. TSN's Dave Naylor has more on what the deal means for both leagues, including a potential merger, and why talks between the two leagues are taking place. Video!
  4. Oh, yes, this was Twitter back-and-forth and they were a Leafs fan too from Toronto. I mean if you've already given up all hope, what's the big deal with another down, right? But, will they go to games?
  5. I choose seppuku. Quick and noble.
  6. If it's just a partnership to for cross-promotion and to give the players more opportunities, then I'm all for it. If it's the end of 3 down football, I will be devastated. I've already been in a back-and-forth with an Argo fan (not Bluto, the other Argo fan) who says he doesn't care. So, maybe there is a population out there that does not care and will watch 4 down football in Canada.

  8. Dear Fellow Tiger-Cats Fan, I’m excited to see you at Tim Hortons Field this summer, as it’s been far too long since we were able to gather over a Molson beer or a Coke to cheer on our beloved Tiger-Cats. The first round is on me! Just come and find me at the Coors Banquet Bar on the lower east mezzanine on opening night and we can kick off the start of the 2021 CFL season together. While we can toast the start of the 2021 season together, we will be celebrating in style at the 108th Grey Cup when Tim Hortons Field and Hamilton host our fellow Canadians and football fans for what will truly be a historic event. The whole 2021 season promises to be one of the most memorable in Tiger-Cats history. Not only will emotions run high when we gather for the first occasion since the pandemic, we will also be welcoming the reigning East Division Champions back to the field for the first time since November of 2019. The season itself is one we can all look forward to, as we’ve maintained our outstanding coaching staff and the vast majority of our very talented roster with some exciting additions to boot. We will be in the hunt for that elusive Grey Cup victory, and did I mention we will be hosting Grey Cup this year? It certainly promises to be a great season to be a Tiger-Cat fan! While you may have read some news today from the CFL office (click here to read), rest assured that our singular focus at the Tiger-Cats right now is getting back on the field in 2021 and putting on the best Grey Cup in CFL history. Our commitment to you is that we will accomplish both. As most of you know by now, we have been playing football in Hamilton for over 150 years. While a lot can change over that time, one thing that will never change is the support from our great fans. It’s you that have kept this team going through war, economic crisis and now a global pandemic. As you’ve heard me say more than once: I’m just the caretaker of your Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The goal I share with all of you is to ensure Hamilton Tiger-Cat football is played in Hamilton for another 150 years, starting with watching Speedy B run circles around the opposition again this summer. Oskee Wee Wee, Cheers, Bob Bob Young Caretaker, Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club

We look forward to seeing what possibilities our discussions might uncover, and to sharing those with our fans as the process unfolds.” Johnson, the former pro wrestler turned actor and entrepreneur, was briefly a member of the Calgary Stampeders’ practice roster in 1995. He teamed up with longtime business partner Garcia and RedBird Capital to purchase the XFL from World Wrestling Entertainment chairman and CEO Vince McMahon for $15 million in August. “Since we first acquired the XFL, we have focused on identifying partners who share our vision and values on and off the field,” Garcia said in a statement. “A vision filled with opportunity, innovation and the highest level of entertainment value for the benefit of our athletes, fans and communities. The CFL has expressed that similar sentiment and jointly we recognize a great opportunity to build exciting innovative football experiences that make the most of each league's unique strengths. I look forward to our continued discussions and we will update the sports community as we have more to share.” The XFL played half of its 10-game season in 2020 before pausing because of the coronavirus pandemic. In a tweet last October, Johnson said the XFL is targeting a return in the spring of 2022. "We are honoured and excited to be in discussions with the CFL. It's clear through our early conversations that we share a passion for football, an expansive sense of possibility, and a deep desire to create more opportunity for players and fans across North America and around the world,” said Jeffrey Pollack, XFL president and CEO, in a statement. “Blending the CFL’s rich heritage with our fresh thinking, and the unique reach and experience of our ownership, could be transformative for the game. We look forward to learning more about what's possible together with the CFL and where our shared passion takes us."
  11. Another thought... Ambrosie goes down this path to create a swell of Canadian support to get the Feds onboard with a grant/loan.
  12. XFL will the NFL farm league and we'll be the XFL's farm league. Canadian Farm League.
  13. At least they've partnered with a successful league.
  14. Geez, someone needs to break it to Iso gently. He'll just be back now from his route.

  16. Why won't someone think of children! (But seriously, my older son loves going to games but he's a sports nut. I mean, he gets excited for pre-season baseball. Pre-season baseball!!!... But my younger son, has no interest in sports but likes to go to the odd game because of the experience. Make it fun for him. They need to get more kids at games.)
  17. Don't worry, they only buy the cheap stuff.
  18. Our tax money already pays for toilet paper.
  19. It was. Even if you didn't agree with his politics, he was articulate and passionate. He motivated the base and got others engaged.
  20. This is why I refuse to belong to any party. I can fully support the platform but then get disillusioned when they fail to act on it. And, all these parties are run by politicians. They're the worst!
  21. This is always the Liberal party. Every once and a while we get good Liberal leaders, who eventually become bad leaders. Chretien was a good leader until he got badddddd. Martin would have been a good leader, if he had the chance. Trudeau wasn't good from the start. The platform is A+ the execution is D-. They don't get an F because they managed to legalize marijuana and they messed that up. The CPC is dumpster fire. Where are the conservatives? Not in the CPC or not part of any leadership there. NDP have not really defined themselves since losing Layton. I'm not even sure they have a coherent platform. I like Singh but I don't see him becoming PM, unless entire Liberal party crumbles. Greens??? Leader sounds good but they're not capable of winning more than couple fringe seats.
  22. You must be forgetting Airbus and the bags full of money In the Mulroney years.
