  1. I could see us losing Goveia at some point, but I get the impression that McManus is with us until he's let go or retires. His scouting job allows him to keep living in the US (Florida, I think), and he's probably pretty comfortable there. Goveia seems to have some aspirations to be a GM some day and the right fit will come along for him eventually.

We're still on the fence. May have the in-laws over for Christmas day. Usually spend time with my side of the family on Boxing Day, leaning heavily towards cancelling that one though. The bigger issue for me is the step-children who will be spending time with 2 families on their dad's side. Would prefer that they didn't do that, but don't really have a say.

To anyone looking to buy KN95 masks, here is a Canadian company making and selling them: https://www.canadamasq.com/

Yeah, there was a followup report that stated that the 1 year shelf life was a misprint and that the masks are in fact good for 3 years. https://globalnews.ca/news/8470370/free-kn95-masks-distribute-in-many-manitoba-liquor-stores-go-quickly-some-masks-expired/
  5. The only way I see that being true is if he agreed to some sort of penalties in his contract if he leaves early.
  6. Tried those on the weekend, they were actually really good.
  7. I don't begrudge teams letting guys go just before a bonus is due. I remember reading something a couple of years back that basically said that agents put those clauses into contracts to force a team's hand to either keep a guy on, or release him before free agency so that he can get a head start on negotiating with other teams. I don't see it as a bad thing that the teams have done at all.
  8. Don't forget about Benson and Gray (yes, they may have less showy impact on the team, but they are still there)... It's amazing to me how we ended up with 5 players from Winnipeg on the team.
  9. 3 times... you forgot the Grey Cup game...
  10. Yeah, I was really surprised that McGuire wasn't there. It's not like he wasn't part of the team, he was on the field a few times in the Grey Cup.
  11. He did say right away that he wouldn't be doing the coaches show. I'm guessing that it will be guest spots here and there throughout the season.
  12. That's exactly what I was looking for... thanks!
  13. Anyone hear anything about the parking situation at the stadium for tonight?
  14. I will be there. There's a chance of some bad weather rolling in, but my 9 year old daughter said to me this morning "I don't care how cold or snowy it is, I wouldn't miss that for the world".
  15. At least this year they had a guy who understood the game and would stop talking when the play was going on. As much as he was cheering for Hamilton, I'll give him credit for respecting the game.
  16. I find it hard to believe as well because of the fact that he abandoned them once before... I guess if you give him both the GM and Head Coach jobs he might stick around a little longer, but I'd still be nervous with him if I were the Elks.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dinwiddie win for coach because of what he did with the team that he had. O'sh maintained the culture and consistency that he had with the team from 2019. I think it will depend on what the voters value more in their vote for Coach of the Year. 100% Biggie deserved to win as the representative of the most dominant defense in the league by a long shot.
  18. Yeah, and I think Neuf said "Hey... HEY!!!" and then just nodded at the guy who backed off (didn't catch who it was, but might have been Bailey.
  19. Looks more like Fajardo after the WF
  20. On the note about Janarion... Good on him to catch the kick high and keep himself in bounds to be able to run it out. His momentum was taking him backwards a bit and he had the awareness to know where the back of the end one was and keep it in play.
  21. And maybe even a coach's show as well?
  22. I'd prefer they tighten things up and at least get the easy calls right, but if they're going to be that bad I think you're right.
  23. https://globalnews.ca/pages/audio-vault-cjob/ Funny you ask because I was just about to look it up myself for the same reason.
  24. I'd like to recognize Collaros for his effort in tracking down the guy who picked up the ball on Wolly's fumble. Full marks for not giving up and getting the guy out of bounds even though he had blocker or two with him.
  25. Fair point, there may have been a couple of slips, but I still stand by the comment that BC Place was worse this year for that. All things considered, the field was in really good shape for this game and wasn't as much of a factor as it could have been.
