He was doing that to great effect under richie. He started right at the tale end of the murphy era. But his stretch of play on teams from the mid to late 90s was one of the best ever. Honestly the loop hole he exploited was bad for the game. But fantastic for the bombers. So im all for him 200 iq off sides and also glad it was fixed. I cant remember who we played but right before they started giving us delay of game penalties applied to the kick, but some ref let us run out like half of the 3rd quarter on one series going into a nasty wind. QFT. The jets and goldeyes arent publicly owned. Guy is just trying to distance him self from messy situations. I cant stand him. It would be interesting to see a team that was fully self sufficient and run with no owner even in figurehead. But its a low risk no reward move.

How a couple of those hits, some spears, harris getting face masked soo hard they took his helmet off then hit him head to head, and the fisticuffs late in the game didnt end up with RBs being punished is beyond me. Hardricks fine was deserved.

I could see this being a trap game, though its not about mos. Its about a former bomber qb in MBT, a guy trying to put his stamp on the starter job in to, us being un beaten and them being winless. Combined with various possible injuries on our side. That said this is a hilariously bad TO team. If we lose this game the bed has then been $%^&. I expect us to win in a route.

	Better player then conteh imo

I don't blame any one for picking Nichols,he was very good in the first half and scored the game winner in that half. I think some guys made plays through out the game that with out them in the second half we would have lost. Our front 7 player especially good against the run with out bighill. Imagine how we would have shut down the run with biggie.

Tremendous play call. Plop was great in the first half too.
 -
A great half of football indeed. But both lines also dominated for the whole game and didn't earn a nod. Demski was really on point too. Harris was a force start to finish. Nearly a record for sts tackles and a big play on offense. Two turn overs with out which we don't win. Thats hard to beat in half a game .

He did and looked great on a couple blitzes
 -
He played a fantastic half. Gotta slide man Jesus. Though sliding didn't save streveler

1 harris. Grinding and pounding all day. 2 Miller all the special teams tackles plus a catch and run for a first down 3 rose. Big hit pick and fumble recovery HH Medlock legging it down field to get the ball on the one. Goat of the game is refs. Soo many bad and blown calls especially head to head and ott being chippy and dirty to no flag.

not that ive seen, but it sure as hell needs to happen now!

A free lotto ticket is still a free lotto ticket.

If those shots had hit rider players the rider fans would be calling for the death penalty.
 -
Stanback on a good team would be scary.
 -
They use him poorly, imo his attitude and effort are also poor. Hes got the skill set to dominate and plays soft. But cutting a starting OL to save cap space is the dumbest move possible.
 -
As long as they dont feed him to the interior of the OL it should be ok.
 -
Probably isnt even on any ones radar. You could plug him in at S for a bunch of teams imo. But he probably could never be the same old mo. Who knows if he is even in game shape. Coming in cold for what a year and a half (?) with no camp would be extremely hard for any one.
 -
Then wed just run him at an interior OL all game in terrible wasted blitz schemes. Id rather see warren or temple used in a legit scheme.

Just another talented player fallen between the cracks. Remember ricky ray was driving a fritos truck before 1 team called. AC was almost out of the league before going to MTL (we chose reggie slack over him). Charles roberts was an after thought for us and no one else in the cfl was after him. Then he went from the best back in the league for 99% of 2006 and 2007 to gone with the end of 2008. Kurt warner was baging groceries so on and so forth. Every year countless guys fall out of football that could be all stars or better in both leagues. Falling between the cracks doesnt speak to talent. Its just the reality of pro sports. You cant over estimate your worth if you are not a star, or you will probably be done just like that.
 -
Thats true. Ball placement has never been his strong suit. He hasnt done a great job of hitting guys in stride, and the deep balls have been hit or miss. But over all he has been money on the short and medium passes. I expect that he will re find his form with that atleast and fairly quickly.
 -
Dont see him as a game manager, but thus far hes the better qb for the argos imo.
 -
Honestly I see them having no chance at all of stopping our run. I could see us having a gigantic game rushing and that minimizing the passing yards. If you cant stop or slow down harris, what are you gonna do when lucky hits you on the fly sweep? Or demski on the play action sweep? or when the streveler package comes on? Youre gonna give up more rushing yards then any other team in the league this year. If not the most in a few years. 338 yards is the record for most combined offensive yards in a game. 287 yards in a game is the rushing record. Those may not fall. But it could be a record for team rushing yards in a game. One of the worst Ds in modern history vs a great rushing O. Look out.
 -
Agree, and I hope he succeeds, as much as I can for any rider qb. The league needs fresh blood at QB to succeed. I love the streveler tool set. His head set and the way he plays football. From another small sample size this pre season I didnt see him taking the next step I had hoped. But he may have, and he may yet take it this year. He got his spot by his play more then practice last year imo. But at worst he is an extremely athletic guy who protects the ball. What sean mcguire has shown as a passer has me pretty happy. In a perfect world Id say bring both along and continue to develop them both. At this point I wouldnt give streveler star qb money. That could change this year of course. But at the very worst I would love to have him back and would have no qualms with those two being our 2 and 3 going forward.

Bout what id expect and what most people observed. Im a big believer in the Bill walsh Wr target zone and passer accuracy. Hitting wrs in stride and not forcing them to dive, reach back, stop etc is key. The lack of consistency in pocket positioning concerns me. We saw a lot of nichols under center last week, a bunch of roll outs (i was in favor of this mid game and still am) pistol and shotgun. The amount of time nichols and plop have been together, they should have a bread and butter for dealing with pressure and a healthy comfort zone. This wasnt on display last week or this year. That can very well lead to the kind of troubles weve seen this year.
