I’d rather see more gambles on 3rd down from mid field and deeper, and for 2 point converts. That’s just good football to watch. DT is 100% right. Especially with the quality of punting we have in the league right now. Maybe incentivizing long fgs while punishing shorter ones would work. Though I don’t think people want to see 4pt fgs. Make a fg 55 or longer and you keep the ball scrimmaging from your 10, even that seems really off the wall. Make all field goals from inside the 35 be kicked from the 35? Also strange. I don’t know that any major changes are a good move for the cfl.

Yep. In us HS they have used an under sized nose. This has trickled up a lot to college and even some nfl teams. Instead of the nose being a huge mountain that dominates one or two guys through physicality, you use a faster guy who can turn the centre and shoot the gap with the centres butt closing the other A gap. I think Jackson could be that guy and It’s atleast worth a try. We throw biggie into that centre but he isn’t the guy to turn him around and blow the play up any more. Jeffcoat and Willy do this a bit when we run cheetah. We are awful at making use out of RBs and flank types like that. Bennett should be on the pr till camp next year at this point.

I love what Jackson brings. I’d be fine with rostering him, as would most any one on here, if we gave him reps at DL to see if he can be a rotational piece there. If he can he’d be a tremendous value as a di. And tbh, I can’t see how a guy like that can move bodies at will and win one on one battles in short yardage but couldn’t do the same in eating a block.

It’s not like he could under perform our Sam play this year either. Kyrie at Sam can only make us better. You don’t see many real 4-3 alignments, it’s more 4-2 with 2 ILBs than a wil mac in terms of alignment. But in terms of role we frequently use a mlber on a linemen and a lber on a gap or two. A bigger guy like sankey at taking biggies reps eating blocks and allowing biggie to rove, and scrape to the ball would be fantastic. We’ve seen a lot this year and last when kyrie has been hurt that the 2nd backer makes bad decisions and takes bad angles. Biggie is better at scraping. I wouldn’t want to give sankey crazy money though. He isn’t a play maker like JSK or a versatile guy like kyrie. He’s a limited use between the tackles guy.

We won’t not with 3 weeks earlier start. We will lose guys for sure. It’s not about pr expansion it’s about timing it earlier enough for guys to get up to speed. if you want to be that new Canadian basketball league and watch the qbing and player quality plummet sure. You mean like rose, Sergio etc coming back from the nfl at the dead line? If that was really our methodology we’d have 1 gc not 2. It’s also not just about ringers. It’s about the top canadian drafted talent too. Guys like gray would’ve missed most of a year here easily instead of coming up. The d coaches are green as can be though only Maxie has been around a while and he’s never been more than a position coach under two or more guys.
