He's been doing much better than the other two...say what you want about him but he is 4-2 and has his team in a playoff race. Some really huge saves today.

Jets i think got lucky with a couple of things.
First they bring up Pav who might not be great but he's consistent.

Huge save for us....two man advantage and 29 coughs up the puck and Benn has a breadaway.....Pavs makes the save and scheifele thanks him by scoring and it is 3-2 Jets instead of 3-2 Stars. Turning point of the game if you ask me.

That was a great pass by Wheels and solid finish by Scheifele.

Pretty happy coming out of the first period with a tie cause it was bad for most of it.

4?  With Scheifele, Ehlers, and Laine all firing on all cylinders, 4 should be easy.  Just put a Mr. Sieve in the net and we'll still win.  GO JETS GO!  GO JETS GO!

Just watched the goals again. No chance on the 1st or third. Deflection off of skate on 1st and screened on 3rd and puck comes off of the boards and he hasn't even seen the puck. On the 2nd you hvae a sniper like Tarasenko from 15 feet out dead center of net so ya he could have stopped the 2nd but would have been a huge save. He made a huge save point blank off of Tarasenko after he walked around Trouba and the rebound went to Lehtera? and he made another really good save. We out-goalied them. I still would have put Helle in for the Stars though.

Or maybe he doesn't let in so many goals early that they have to abandon  their style of play to play catch-up  for the for the rest of the game. He stands on his head for us and still doesn't get any credit whatsoever unbelievable.

It's not ironic at all...that's how it works. The team is playing with WAY more confidence, having Pavelec in net. They know they have a guy who's going to keep them in the game, so they're gripping the sticks so tight, worried that one mistake is game over.

You can't really tell from the CF% whether it's from better offence or worse defence.  One thing you can look at is zone start percentage.  If someone is starting in the defensive zone all the time, even if they are good players the other team has a far better chance of generating shots.
Myers hasn't played much.  But a lower Fenwick in general means that more of your shots are getting blocked or you aren't blocking as many shots.  But it's important to remember that it's about everyone on the ice at the time, not just the one player.  That's one reason why the sample size for Myers is too small, especially when talking about something as (relatively) rare as shot blocks.  I wouldn't read anything into stats in anything less than 20 games played because they jump up and down before leveling off.

The Commentary made it drag even more than it did. It's interesting to me how they pretty much ignored talking about Laine.  
I also think the shootout was ruined. I'd rather see all of them not just 2 divisions... the only guy who seemingly tried to entertain was Brent Burns.  Only guy who tried something different in the shootout.  
It almost seems like you aren't allowed to have personality in the Nhl.  I get them hyping mcdavid and Crosby but man they lack personality.  The Auston Matthews love affair from cbc/sportsnet was at times nauseating but not surprising. Again tho very little personality.  I also think it's obvious that the guys don't try at all. 
 
I'll just add... I hate Ryan Kesler... he's such a ****** but the crowd booing and him blowing kisses... man the guy Is such a good heel.

Have you ever even thought that some of this might be on the players (including the goalies)?
Go look at his draft picks and tell me how many played in the NHL and for Calgary. If he is so smart, why isn't he in the league?
 

Every team (to my knowledge) has an analytics department now to some degree.  It's a tool to be used like any other.  Looking ONLY at Corsi, etc is a mistake and writing it off completely is also a mistake.

Tell me someone that actually contributed to the team as a 1st or 2nd round pick....I'd look it up but I know what a terrible team he ran that didn't make the playoffs under his watch and he set the team back with his drafting.
