  1. And Walby was flat out horrendous in my view, not very bright either - and it showed.

Something tells me that you would have a completely different opinion if you were asked to comment in the presence of said Mr. Walby...

I see a video, three guys sitting on the deck at Jefferies during a spectacular summer day, when suddenly the sun disappears and a huge shadow overtakes the outdoor area. Is it a storm cloud? An eclipse? Look up. Look way up! Mr. Wally hears you bitching and wants to add his two cents? Lmao

  2. My favorite football announcer of all time has to be Don Wittman. Loved his tone and passion. Plus, he was a Winnipeg guy, wasn't he? And yes, Cole is past his prime, but I still love hearing him.

Hail to Whitman! Yuppers, he lived in Winnipeg, on the street along the Assiniboine behind Birchwood Pontiac. It's not exactly clear, somehow I might be recollecting that he did the sports on local CBWT as well. If you'd run into him anywhere, airport, hotel, and had a conversation, before you'd know it, he be interviewing you. You be telling your life's antecdotes and more. He made you feel great about yourself.

  3. Bob Cole is the best play by play announcer for hockey, but Cuthbert is CFL footballs best. However, Dunigan is great for a laugh and says it like he sees it. Love him and Gord Miller.

20 years ago maybe but Cole is an old man now and can't keep up with the play, he spends most of the games now hoping that he is sitting in the pie.

Yeah Cole is so past his prime, it's not even funny. He's got to retire. Sadly, whichever yahoo who replaces him won't be any better. It's just disgusting.

You might be pleasantly surprised to hear Jets Tsn TV feed guy Dennis Beyak announce a game. He has done some Olympic broadcasts as well. The TSN Radio Jets guys Brian Munz and Paul Edmonds are good, very good.

But for football, I'm totally comfortable with Knuckles.

  4. A 2-2 start for this squad at this point in the season is decent. I can't say that there is any one individual player that is standing out to date, on the stats sheet, that is on their way to MOP status. At CFL.ca, there are ten categories of stats. The bombers have only one player in the top three of any of the categories. Nick Moore, behind Dressler, is the best performing player in terms of stats standings. CFL.ca, does not report longest play from scrimmage or 100 yard games and other interesting points.

There have been a good number of highlight reel big plays by a number of players.

It is very early in the season still. Maybe Moore, Denmark and Willy can continue to provide consistent performance. Obviously, it is possible, but Im thinking not probable, that a team can roll to the Grey Cup, without some outsized seasonal individual performances through the season. We would need a number of categories that our players are in the top three in order have a signature and winning style of character.

  5. This is from the CFL mobile app, guess they didn't count on the Riders blowing another lead LOL. If you note the time from my phone (CST) I'm pretty sure the game was over at that point of this web posting. I've seen other examples like this actually when it comes to the Riders. Not sure in this case if it was bias or just laziness, not sticking around to see the final score ;). Not saying this is a case of bias or nothing more than some internet incompetence, but in general how do you feel about the pro Rider bias the media in this country has? I mean I don't think I'm the only one who notices it. In the NFL it's the Dallas Cowboys who get all of the attention, so as a fan of a true rival team it's just something we have to put up with and enjoy when they crap the bed ...

Nothing is sweeter to a fans ear than hearing some mention of your team. They perk up, get excited, chat about it. Like "hey, did you see that Homer was watching tv and the Rough Riders were playing the Roughriders? Hahaha". But what your referring to is incompetence. It's difficult to prove any bias. Some graphics tech just updated the standings so he could split and get to the bar for a couple before it closed. Or they were were told to **** off because the game ran long and we "ain't payin ya any OT, because of OT".

  6. I'm not sure there's a lot to be gained by me complaining get about flags thrown by the zebras. It's certainly lessens my enjoyment of the match. But I've decided there's SFA I can do about that so just try and enjoy the game the way it is, Barring unsportsmanlike penalties from the bench or after the play is whistled dead. But for **** sakes, protect the QB's.

Why does it make you sick to your stomach - why does anyone deserve to be elevated over anyone else?

This morning when I came into work there was a homeless guy sleeping in front of the front door of our office building. When someone woke him up he pissed and **** himself simultaneously, then walked away. If he refuses to elevate himself by trying to use the myriad social programs available in this country to get help, are you saying that everyone should just sleep in front of buildings and piss and **** themselves, because no one deserves to be elevated above him? That's what you are saying?

That's a poor example to highlight in your argument without knowing what the cause of his homelessness is.  Very high probability that he has base mental health issues that are not being treated by our current health system and he is left to fend for himself.  Withn MB. I know of mental health facilities that have been shut down in both Portage and Selkirk as cost savings without reasonable support being provided to the evictees.

If grandpa loses his mind the immediate family can usually step up to ensure his well being but there are a lot of people in this world that don't have that family support to begin with.  Don't know anyone that could have ended up homeless???  Just dig into your family tree, you won't have to dig very deep..

selkirk and portage getting closed without reasonable support being provided to evicted patients would never happen in Manitoba. No way. Impossible. It never happened here. The NDP built their following back from Tommy Douglas days on a health care platform. I call BS.

The NDP has now called the evicted "Being served from the community". Which is another way of saying, "I don't give two hoots about grandpa" and the homecare workers refuse to help grandpa because he called one a *****. 70 grand a year and doesnt have to empty a colostomy bag of a wheelchair bound weakling diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and delirium. That's socialists systemic elder abuse. Rather than Norway let's look at the socialists performance right here.

Honestly, I used the example of MB. cause that's what I'm most familiar with but I believe this has happened in each and every province since the 80's, increasing homelessness dramatically.  So you can't really point the finger at the NDP specifically as it is a federal problem.

I will point the finger at the NDP, cunning devils that hey are. its happening in MB on their watch. this is the evidence. but you are free to extrapolate.

If your involved in this story, you have my sympathies.
