  1. Rich and Mike. If there is a issue with name calling, stating someone is stupid, or dumb, that is on this site, I would think that as administrators or moderators, you each have the ability to to enforce the code of conduct. That would also include sanctioning trolls. To your credit, I see you pleading to the participants of the MBB, that's what leaders do. The same leaders could also mold the board with additional forms of ....uhm, motivation. And I hear ya.

  2. It looks like I'm on the other side of the argument yet again.

I want penalties to be called when they happen, no matter if they effect the play or not.

The players have more control over the penalties than the refs do.  Don't want a hands to the face penalty called?  Don't do it.  Don't want holding called?  Don't hold.  Don't like PI away from the play?  Don't interfere with the receiver.  Don't like blocking penalties on returns?  Don't take the penalty.

The refs job is hard enough without trying to figure out if the penalty, which is cheating BTW, is going to or has affected the play.  I want the team that plays the best to win, not the one who cheats the best.

Valid perspect.and it is the current practice. The ref's don't know how the play will turn out, and if they see something, they throw the flag. However, there is a theory of "No harm, no foul", that could be adopted as a rule. That's what I think is being argued.

  3. Can't say I've ever wanted to turn off an NFL game because of how ref's are calling a game. Have seen Ed Hockuly FU big time, once. The NFL has even experimented with 8 officials on the field and the entertainment value was not obstructed. With 6 officials on a CFL field, their have been a few games this year alone that have had my viewing enjoyment ruined, because the ref's just got way too involved in penalties.

  4. I didn't realize the tickets usually sold out in weeks. I guess there will be a whirlwind of sales when the Lions maul their way through the eastern division playoffs and encounter the marauding Stampeders in the GC. Ok, and it will be Calgary by 8. Cornish most outstanding in the game.

  5. Sounds like a great deal. Smart of the organization to gain some long-term commitments, just in case the team tanks again next year. This would mitigate any losses in season ticket sales for the following 2016 season

Kind of concerns me that their trying to insure themselves against this. Just commit to improving the team and there would be no need to do this.

How about committing to improve on the field performance and ensuring the financials? I'll take both.

Rider fans everywhere after seeing their backups fail are huddled in a corner rocking back and forth repeating the words "Darian is coming" over and over again.

Not true, a lot of our backups are doing quite well this season, ie Adcock, Williams, Toston, Clark, Guyton, etc. The problems have been backup QB & MLB.

And nobody can deny what our starting QB means to this team. 8-2 with him as starter, 1-7 with him out. Just look how Edm did this season without Reilly.

    You're a coward.

You welched on a bet that you agreed to. Your word is meaningless.

How you can have so little pride is depressing. I honestly pity you.

My brother in law is a Rider idiot also. He has welched on his bets too. Pathetic group out there, that away. Thank Christ they don't have a hockey team to bring to a fan forum site.

  7. I'm just in awe with IGF Stadium. Fantastic facility. Last week was talking to some Stamp fans, that came in for the stamp/flame extravaganza last weekend. They told me they had just visited Levi Stadium for a Niners game. They were more than Imprssed with IGF and favourably compared it with the NFL local franchise. It was clear that comparing a 1.3 billion dollar facilty to a much smaller 300 million dollar facility is very tough. Their comments were so very kind though that in mentioning the comparison they were just as happy with IGF as Levi, AND IGF was greater value for the construction buck.

  8. Classic Migs. I still remember the early days of the "Other Bomber" site, when he'd argue that Curtis Marsh was definitely a better receiver than Milt Stegall. Then Matt Dominguez was definitely a better receiver than Milt Stegall. Then Jason French/Derick Armstrong/Jamel Richardson was definitely....

Also, Chris Szarka > Mike Sellers. Good times. Well, not really good times, but it's funny how some things never change.

I tried to hit on Sellers wife. He wasn't around. She was waaaaay out of my league. I didn't know it was his wife til the next day. I'm friggin lucky to be alive!

  9. Dateline: Regina, Saskatchewan, October 25,2014, with apologies to The Regina Star Phoenix

After another miserable performance by a rookie QB, Kerry Joseph, Brendan Taman is pleased to announce the signing of robert "Bob" Ptavek Jr. Bob was instrumental during the 1960 season of leading the Riderettes into the Western Conference playoffs. In a recent conversation Bob Jr. stated, "we fought hard. The two game total point series ended Calgary 43 Us 7.." He went on "thank goodness, I understand Mr. tallman has addressed the problem from back then of fans distracting us by looking through the fence in the NE corner. This is why I signed."
