what you just said totally exemplifies what goes on at Riderfans.com....except there is less name calling here and just out right pathetically baseless posts

Passion for a person's allegiance to their team id great..and makes for good rivalries but some of whats said, and goes on there is just juvenile..I truly think most poster's there are teenager's or pre-teen because it's pretty ridiculous

Oh, you mean like when Mr Dee says my name translates to sh%t? That kind of name calling? lol

Its the attitude of Rider "fans" like Scrotum71" that makes me think that if the Bombers beat the Riders in both upcoming games, I wouldn't care if the Bombers won another game this regular season.

What attitude? You can't take joking back and forth? I don't disrespect you guys over here. LDC and BB coming up means the rivalry heats up. This is a thread about Rider Fans so I thought it would be ok to come on here and banter back and forth. Some of you need to relax and have fun with the rivalry. I've openly said that you guys have a good team this year and are the hottest team in the league right now...but God forbid anyone in the universe has an opinion different than yours. I thought this was a discussion forum, not an "agree with everything we say" forum.

What's up with the Banjo Bowl selling out before the Labour Day Classic?

Tickets haven’t sold out for the 2017 Labour Day Classic between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.   http://www.cjme.com/2017/08/29/tickets-to-labour-day-classic-still-available/

I don't want to hear anymore crap from that fan base about their great support.

Well, we've each had 4 home games this season and so far we're averaging over 5300 fans per game more than you guys... :P (as per cfl.ca)

You wanted to start mixing it up and then complain about being degraded.

Alright, good point. I guess being the visitor on this site I need to figure out the line between trolling and good old fashioned jabbing.  Like I said, I'm not here to troll, too old for that crap. Just seeing how we have our back to back games coming up, thought it may be a good time to jump in.

Oooo....owwwww. I don't see you being degraded. You'll get use to this site as a poster.

But some folks don't like ssk fans because of their reputation and poor behaviour. You can understand that, I'd think, right!

Now look at your symbol thingy. Are the ssk rider guys the grey cup champs? Do you whallop a hornets nest with a stick?

No they're not the Grey Cup Champs anymore. Now look at your name.  Are you really Rod Black?  I don't really wallop the nest... just poke it a bit.

I concur about falling asleep ... so many words & so little content .... but that is nothing new here

So to be clear, you get upset when people of other fan bases come on here and troll, and yet when someone from another fan base comes here and actually talks about football, you still feel the need to try and degrade? I talked about the fact your team was riding high on a 5 game win streak, and were playing good ball. I mentioned QB's and defense and how home field may be an advantage. I get this is your house and I'm a guest here, but I don't troll on your board.  Sorry if my post wasn't filled with stat's that were cut and pasted from another website, I just thought this was a forum that people could talk football on.

Welcome to MBB Scaroz71. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

My apologies. I fell asleep reading your post.

Thanks for the warm welcome.   I've been here for about 3 years though. I don't post a lot here, usually just read the posts to get another perspective of whats going on around the league. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents seeing as it's a discussion that involves the Riders.

And no need to apologize for falling asleep reading my post, I know it's pretty dark in your mom's basement and pretty easy to nod off. ;)

  8. Wow, this thread got all tangled up in a hell of a hurry. I don't know why he had to stir the pot like that when all the OP asked was if the LDC should be given to the winner...

Anyways, I like it the way it is, and while I agree it wasn't as fair to Bomber fans when the banjo bowl was played on the Sunday, (not even sure how many years ago that was...5?), it also sucked for Rider fans who didn't have the extra day to sleep in. I know, I know, you don't care about us lol but my point here is I think now that the BB is played on the Saturday it works out for both sides of the border.

  9. This is really a hard game to predict an outcome. Naturally Rider fans are going to say the Riders will win and Bomber fans are going to say The Bombers are going to win.. (for the most part anyways). Truthfully, I have no idea how this game will turn out, Bombers are hot, no doubt about it, and the team is playing with confidence. The Riders on the other hand, are what I believe to be a much improved team than what they were at the beginning of the season, and while not on a streak like the Bombers are, do have a couple of confidence building wins and hopefully take that onto the field Sunday. (just not over confident lol)

I think each team has certain advantages over the other.. you guys have a better qb in my opinion, and at this point of the season, I think our defense is playing a little better than yours. That being said, the guys in your secondary are pretty quick to the ball when it's thrown. Is home field an advantage for us? I would say probably, even though you guys took the first game from us at Mosiac. I'm pretty sure it will be loud and the noise will cause a few mistakes for Nichols. Might just come down to who want's it most lol. Regardless of the outcome, looks like it's going to be a good couple of weekends of spewing mud back and forth.

  10. Well, it's only game one, and I'm sure like all teams, they'll sync together as weeks go by. Willy did seem to be under a lot of pressure for a lot of the night, and let's face it, with Dressler going down and then the huge delay, there were a lot of disruptions in the game to slow momentum. I do have a question for you guys, as I haven't followed your roster in too much depth... What happened to Flanders? I didn't see him last night. Did he make the team or was he cut?

I honestly thought that was going to be another one of Migs persona's. Glad to see it wasn't. The bombers have signed a few more OL, americans but still some prospects.

It has nothing to do with my pure and utter hatred for anything riders. But I honestly believe you're in for another rough year. But this time on Offence. I think it may be a changing of the guard at the qb position. Not convinced the Oline will do anything worth while, along with the receivers and running backs. I'd be very surprised if the riders make the playoffs. I see a season below .500 again.

Possibly, that could very well be the case. I guess the same could be said about the Bombers...only time will tell I guess. A lot of changes done by both teams. Hopefully they gel and we get a great Labour Day and Banjo Bowl.

Sorry you think I'm delusional Rod Black, and no I don't care if you care about my views. This is a football forum is it not? Are you that insecure when someone from another team posts? I get this is a Bomber board and I have never trolled here. In fact my post count here is quite low, but just like everyone else here I like chatting about football.

  12. I don't know of any fans in Sask who are "delusional". We all know as well as anyone that we had a complete overhaul, and while we did improve in some areas, we all know that there is still work to be done. We understand that Durant has been off for a season and a half, and how he will perform, nobody knows. I guess it's a wait and see thing for us. Myself personally, well, I'm hoping for a playoff spot, which I don't think is being delusional. Will we run the table??? Lol nope, but I certainly think we are an improved team over last year and hopefully the new coaching staff can help us win some of those close games we lost last year, and hopefully that will get us into the post season.

Your Bombers are in good shape, I haven't heard anything lately about any more signings to your O-line... were there any recently? This isn't me trolling, I just honestly haven't heard anything lately and I know that was an area you guys were working on.

I agree with you on Hamilton, they have to get over that hump sometime, but I don't think Ottawa is going to drop off that much, they seem to have a pretty solid team... , Toronto should be good and Montreal will be eating out of the dumpster at the bottom of the standings.

As for the rest of the West, I honestly don't know lol. Not sure how Edmonton will respond to losing so much personnel, Calgary should still be a force despite some of the changes there, like I said earlier, you guys have made some great additions to the team, especially in the receiver core, I guess it all depends on how quickly they gel as a team, and obviously that is the same for the Riders. I would think that BC will finish last in the West, only because I think the Riders and Bombers have made enough improvements to pass them in the standings.

  13. If I'm Lapo is keep the TSN gig. He could do that for several years. Coaching the Riders, he'll be fired in a couple years and no guarantee the TSN gig will still be there for him when that happens. He makes good coin working 2-3 days a week, for half a year with TSN.

I agree he has a pretty good gig with TSN, but who knows, if offered a job he may very well accept. I would imaging that football is in his blood and maybe he misses being a coach? Hard to say if that would improve things or not. Obviously injuries are a huge issue for the Riders now, and I know that all the teams are playing through with injuries, however right now the Riders are REALLY banged up. I think that a couple of bad coaching decisions did in fact cost the Riders a couple of wins, however, mistakes made on the field bu the players put them in a position to lose 2 games that they should have won. So having said all that, are the players still inspired by Chamblin? Would Lapo be a spark that turns this team around? Tough to say. I really do believe that we need someone else to run the defense though. The defense has cost us our losses IMO. Glenn has exceeded most expectations and is doing alright, except for those timely and costly int's lol and the offense is fine, but at the end of the day 0-4 is 0-4! I'll still be at the games including the Labour Day and Banjo Bowl. Hope to have some drinks with you bastages and have a good time!

Riders Gm Brendan Taman was on The Wolf Morning Show today and predicts his club will be 12-6

    1- Ben Heenan

    2- Ricky Foley

    3- Dominique Picard

4- Until he got hurt Durant had near the worst stats. Ole Brendan having just fallen out of bed read his napkin backward.

That may be true but he also had the second best record at the time at 8-2. I'm not sure what your reasoning is for Sask being in last place other than your pure hatred for them lol.

    West will be tight.
