Sure he needs time.  He's young.  A couple of weeks at Christmas to gain some elite level experience is never a bad thing though.  I'd send him.  And I wouldnt think twice about it.  Especially if he wants to go.

NHL more elite level experience then WJHC.

Heck AHL more elite level experience then WJHC.

You think he'd gain more from two weeks in the AHL then two weeks at the WJHC?  I dont.  Now, Im no expert on it, but the idea he needs time to grow as a player in the NHL is true but is also irrelevant to the WJHC.

I don't think Ehlers should be in AHL I'm saying AHL is better experience for someone like Ehlers then WJHC.

For Ehlers if he is sent to the WJHC, its a demotion.

  2. I was watching the Carolina/New Orleans game today and Delvin Breaux made an interception.  Joe Buck, the Fox announcer, gave a back-story on Breaux, including his spinal issues and his recovery, then he said something like "he couldn't get a look in the NFL, and was forced to go play semi-pro ball in the CFL".  I of course reacted negatively to that comment with some four letter expletives hurled at the TV as I took Buck's comment as an arrogant insult from an American bozo (kind of like that other Fox clown that was doing the baseball and insulted Canada), but then I reflected on this statement.  Is the CFL a true "professional" league, or is it "semi-pro" - and I honestly don't even know what "semi-pro" means.  If you get paid to play a sport, and fans show up and pay to watch you play it, then you are a professional player.  Right?  Opinions?

If the majority of the players need a secondary job then yes semi-pro.

    Missed this tidbit:

    Scott Campbell @NHL_Campbell

I missed fans reactions to @FriedgeHNIC saying Trouba's camp and #NHLJets have amicably decided to no contract talks till summer. Awesome.

This is better for Trouba, the way he was playing the first 20 games Chevy was trying to sign him to 'bad play' money.

My guess is Enstrom will be traded, he's the highest paid Jet and he just can't be making that kind of money.

Unless the Jets are paying for half his salary he's not being traded. He's got 1 more year left on his MOS salary.

Stempniak is an upgrade over Semin...

People are fooled by Stempniak because he is playing first line minutes and power play minutes on NJ. He wouldn't be doing that here.

He was second to Stafford in goals for the Jets upon being traded here was he not? Chevy x'd the pooch on Stempy. Stempy > Copp this year.

If we trade Enstrom, what is our LHD looking like?

    Taller.

Trouba fighting was pure 'i got your back' type approach. That's hockey.

Trouba playing better lately. Almost not want to trade him for Hamonic now,.

is it stupid to think that the team plays better for Hellybucyk than for the other two?

    do teams do that?

I think teams play better with rookie goalie. See Hutch's first year.

I sometimes worry about Helle's rebound control.

New pads. They'll soften up as the year goes by :)

Anyone ever notice how many times Buff says "you know" in an interview......I doubt you can find an interview with him that he doesn't say "you know" at least 10 times.

I guess Armia was called up in case of an emergency or injury? I was really hoping to see him get some ice time.

No one is worse at "you know" then the great Dave Babych.

Tough for Armia to get in with Thorburn/Peluso playing good. Best chance is 4th line center at this point.
