  1. Past hour
  2. Man that would really be a blow...But may open door to no starting Canadian on the line, and go with just Ford on corner...which I would be fine with
  3. Lawson 6 gamed according to facebook Martin released.
  4. I agree with @bluedawg I didn’t really see a ton from Rivers that wowed me. Thought D’Abreu was better
  5. Tre Thomas was in as a weakside linebacker, definitely not a cornerback or half
  6. I'm sure they watching the CFL transactions for it
  7. and thats why I'd slice Thomas off the roster....give his money and few extra bucks to Kongbo...especially with Biggie off the books....and if we wise keep hi there the full 6 and see if new blood develops....it's not like he cant come back after that if need be and maybe 12 games is the elixar tha would make him a B+ to A linebacker for the season
  8. Me too....because the guy has high skill level and if it ever clicks for him lookout. I would hate to see him go to Calgary with his old coach and get the lights turned on over there. Sadly, I think that is exactly what will happen.
  9. We don't necessarily need starting calibre NATs in a rotation, just guys who are capable backups that won't hurt us for a rep or two while we give breathers.
  10. agree....just sucks because of them...we didnt win 4 in a row....I put part of that blame on the players too as some didnt show up when it counts....but also wonder if some of that was due to not totally preparing them and psyching them up, as we let the room control the room and the staff was too comfortable in the fact that they didnt think they had to go above and beyond to prepare....you always still gotta shake the tree and peel some paint...regardless how vet the squad is...or what the cukture is
  11. For sure, he is not seeing the field like a 3 down QB needs to do. He's been here a week, maybe he's just a slow learner, maybe he's a bust. I wouldn't get rid of him yet though.
  12. For sure they need at least one NI in rotation, they’re just not going to be able to use 2-3 plus a global this year and still be impactful. Lawson is really the only starter quality Canadian they have right now on the DL.
  13. I think he is struggling with that extra guy on the field, and it's throwing his ability to make any reads off...in a quick fashion....totally obvious from his picks
  14. We just didn't have Kongbo (NAT) or Hansen (GL) since then, We can't run that kind of rotation without NATs or GL guys. There just isn't the roster room. That would be a great lineup if everyone plays up to potential.
  15. Lawson/FOX...Habba/WJ....Garbutt/Woods/Scmeck...I sure that doable now with Ford in the mix, and not wasting a DI on a fullback....and we have used Cole as well off the edge at times, and if we keep/roster Moses I could see him being a great guy to playb like a Jack and come from anywhere....From knowing what we have coming back...and seeing some the new blood perform and practice.....to me that initial crew could really be an agressive and dominant front...dare to dream?....or will it happen?
  16. I have no problem with that at all. I am wired the same way. Winning is the goal. I just think that a natural reaction to losing sometimes is to throw the baby out with the bath water instead of stepping back and seeing how far away from the goal you are. In the Bombers case, I don't believe wholesale change is needed. Some improvement to be sure, but our problems are not of the earth shattering variety. MOS has his quirks, he needs to reel a couple of them in a little, and we will be in great shape from a coaching perspective...hell we are in great shape already.
  17. Same for me. I think Willie in particular should probably play 2/3 of the snaps they had him out for. His style lends itself less to fatigue than anyone. Im pretty sure we all see how that front rotation was key to the dominance of 19/21. They got lucky with Kongo and Hansen those years, now it’s time to tweak the ratio to bring back the 7-8 man rotation, regardless of nationality. It’s almost like mid-22 they made a conscious decision to use the roster differently. Right around the time they traded that DT Wilcots to Hamilton
  18. From what I saw, he is struggling to adapt to the 3 down game. He has the talent, do we have the patience?
  19. I don't ignore our success...don't get me wrong...winning is always nice....fun....but the end goal is a championship...bar none and any season not securing that is failure....and losing some for totally avoidable reasons is not acceptable and accountability needs to be addressed....call me old schoiol but the 90's isn't evennthat old school to be honest. I do not know one player who has ever been satisfied not winning th championship...nor know any who just "wanted to get to playoffs" hence my criticism and calling things out...just how I wired
  20. In my perfect world we are rotating guys in and out of the DL on a regular basis keeping them fresh as a daisy into the 4th Q. The only way we are able to run a 7-8 man DL rotation is with some NAT DLs rostered and ready. I like the idea of having 2 IMP DTs as well taking 65% of the snaps, but after that if we are going to stay fresh we need to mix in NATs.
  21. Today
  22. I'm not as harsh on our success rate the last couple years as you are, winning the West division the past 2 years and being in the Grey Cup is still a pretty darn good accomplishment imo. That's not to suggest it was perfect, it wasn't, but we are still a dominant team in this league. The fact we can split hairs on roster management after winning games just tells me how spoiled we are as a fan base right now. This could be far, far worse and is nowhere near bad.
  23. we need that rotation 100%...and if he is/can progress against true starters I am all for it...I would rather have him than Thomas or Bennett....But if his roster position is at the expense of Kelly...which is was a lot last yr...then I not behind that...Kelly offers way more...has way more upside/use and was last yr, and will be this yr one of our top ST guys...Pretty sure he tries hard in practice too...one the accolades of Schmeck and his reason for rostering last yr QFT
  24. Bingo. Start Ford, DNA Alexander. If Ford gets hurt BA can come in for 29 plays without having to bugger around with the ratio. Then they could have the 2 best American DTs with Lawson rotating in. Just daydreaming, but that would be my ideal ratio on D.
  25. yeah....firsthalf the game he jumped out to me as well...was he at corner...or HB?....I like his physicality a lot more than MgHee....who didnt impress considering all the yip yap about him in press, and being a hold over....Hopefully it's not a case of before...job by tenure and a few flash plays to keep him on...ala Houston....Best players should play regardless of time spent here.....in my day...thats how it went...and can't count how many teamates I said goodbye to on the fly mid-yr from new blood brought in and they were just flat out better....if you not continually turning over talent and seeking better...as opposed to staying complacent, and standing pat....well you can see what haoppens...History will show you everytime...and our last 2 yrs has showed it, and if not nipped in the bud....
  26. True, we can do that. However, we still need to roster our share of NATs come game day and if Schmekel is doing well he is a candidate to be one of those guys and offer us some depth on the DL while he's at it. If he's balling and can offer us a 7 man DL rotation we are right back to 2021. Do we need to use him? No. Would be a nice luxury to have if he can keep playing at a high level.
