  1. Past hour
  2. Same. Getting the sinking feeling that we have repeated the Geroy Simon - Robert Gordon decision. I get why we made the decision. And pre cap going up I agree 300k wr is too much. Especially when you have Demski making 225-250k. Hindsight is 20/20, but we would’ve been a whole lot better off cutting bait on Demski and schoen, keeping lawler and bringing in any vet wr other than the 3 we brought in. Very unfortunate outcome to our off season approach.
  3. The other western teams have made significant moves to strengthen themselves, whereas the Bombers have largely stood pat. Admittedly, whether those changes will bear fruit remains to be seen, but at the very least, they have acknowledged that last year wasn't good enough and have made changes. Yup- so far Calgary looks to be better (way better, thanks to Adams behind centre) and Edmonton looks to be a basket case. Becoming quite concerned about Schoen. He is hurt again, and not just nicked on a day-to-day basis and when he was in the lineup did not look anywhere as good as before his injury.
  4. Bryant and schoen both ruled doubtful for the game and haven’t practiced. Have to imagine both will sit this game. If vanterpool kicks out to T and Wallace goes back in to G, I wonder if we flip any ni to imp. Probably not, but dare to dream.
  5. I have but something didn't go right maybe I should have done the gnocchi from scratch rather than buy it out right
  6. This is a real thing.....and as close and tight as teams/media and the like will say the room and culture is....and players will say it publicly also as to not rock the boat....there are still exclusive groups who do talk amoungst themselves and question the why's and how's and see when a certain player gets played over a better player....it's a normal thing....it also has to do with earning their dollars...or chance to earn more dollars....its a show me sport and how you get your pay....and careers are short Lotsa people will say "yeah but nobody picked up this rookie...or that rookie we cut" but teams have time and money invested in their own recruits...and wont drop their guys for someone elses...thats how you eviscerate your scouting department....and also a good reason why Penn left here....worked his butt off and to watch slugs and plugs and lesser talent get the playtime as a coach's choice.....could have advanced up the ranks here but chose to do so with Goviea....Penn is a serious up and comer and a bummer of a guy to have lost
  7. Today
  8. It does when you still work with many, and with a lot of young guys looking to land jobs up here...I also didnt mean to be rude but a lot of what I will divulge isnt opinion so sorry if came across as attacking.....but also once a player...always a player too....so you do get extra spilled tea on the inside stuff.... Cgy has had a lot of turnover actually......The elks just spent poorly....they robbed from peter to pay Paul so to speak hahahah.....i do know him very well actually....he did a total chamge tho from when first here to his H.C gig....I think he had some kind of life event that messed him up....or he just was an addict to power and became a right tool
  9. Yeah Gavin was good...I remember at the time ol Taman didnt even wanna bring him to camp...said he would just be TC fodder....I gave him crap a couple yrs ago sporting a cut off Allouttes T-Shirt while working out hahaha
  10. Walls was such an exceptional de, and guy. He might be the most under rated defensive player in bomber history. He could coach dl, or SnC. One of the most incredible all around athletes we’ve seen. I know some guys who worked with him on a rig and what he was physically capable of was un real. He’s on the top 4 bomber dl all time for me. He would make us better, by way of rotating the other old heads and being a better pass rusher than either of our guys. But he is the last dl guy we should look at. We do a great job of finding dt talent, but man we have not done the job at de. I hate that we didn’t bring in any during the bye week. That’s a great chance to bring some air lifts in and evaluate.
  11. I dont pretend that I know what any specifics player is thinking, but it has to be frustrating for younger players that have shown promise to be left on the sidelines without a chance to show what they can do other than special teams especially when they see rookies on other teams. Players like Chris-Ike, Shay, Smith even Cam Allen . Its like OShea wants them to wait a year ( unless its forced by injury) before he eoll trust them on the field
  12. Who is hoping anything? Do you think BC who can't seem to beat anyone other than the Elks is in a better position than the Bombers? Would you take the Riders aging roster, riddled with injuries led by an aging QB who can't push the ball down the field over the Bombers aging roster, with an sub-optimal active roster led by an aging QB who can't seem to push the ball down the field? Would you take Elks roster who spent like drunken sailors on defense only to end up with objectively the worst defense in the league and are trying to shoehorn Tre Ford into a franchise QB role while giving him no reasonable help on offense? NGL Stamps looking pretty good rn though.
  13. I suggest that they are more emotionally attached to their jobs as not only are their incomes dependent on them, but also their egos. And most, if not all pro athletes are ego- driven. That likely applies to the coaches as well.
  14. If anything these guys SHOULD BE bitching more... if JimBob on the other development team gets preferential treatment from my manager maybe I don't get an extra 1% bonus or raise next year, or maybe I have to change jobs and continue my FORTY YEAR career somewhere else so be it. If Dillon Mitchell can't get onto the active roster because MOS wants to parade a bunch of non-import non-participant receivers to play 4 snaps on special teams, he might be out of the game entirely as soon as next year.
  15. Hope is a poor stratagem.
  16. The soup is one of the few things they do make from scratch and some staff have posted the recipes online. So you may be able to find one to replicate. Unrelated to Olive Garden.... my wife just let me have a bite of her Wendy's Fuego chickenburger and I can verify that this sandwich has legit heat with it. My mouth is still sizzling a few minutes afterwards!
  17. If Red Lobster can put their biscuit mix in stores, Olive Garden should put their soups and Breadstick mix in stores (and you better believe I'd buy the Soup in a heartbeat, and even make extra gnocchi)
  18. I was told Booch was THIS GUY!!
  19. I really find it weird that certain people don’t think these players would vent to acquaintances Sometimes I hate my job and I’ll ***** to the mailman if he’d listen. We really tend to glamourize this occupation around here because these guys are pro athletes. They still feel the same as we do about their jobs.
  20. I think that Olive Garden could do well if they were to open smaller shops that offer soups / salads / breadsticks and maybe a few basic items from the menu and/or sandwiches. The current high prices and extreme low quality of food (outside of the soup/salad) will not work in any new area that more then likely already has far better options. The brand itself also mainly appeals to old white people (similar to Swiss Chalet, Sals, Smittys etc...) so long term I'm not sure it can survive without an update.
  21. To be fair, Calgary and Edmonton were the two teams that seemed to be most active / had the least losses over the offseason. It has worked out very well for the Stamps... for the Elks not so much. The Lions are sitting at .500... but they beat the floundering Elks twice and snuck past an injured Als team for their other win. The Riders took a fairly aged team with an otherworldly TO Ratio and ran it back and are in a similar situation to the start as last year, but honestly it seems they have more cracks. The Bombers started 0-4 last year and are 3-1 this year.
  22. We have no reason to believe that the Bombers will be as good as or better than last year. Key players are older, more injury-prone and will take longer to heal. We have the same head coach with the same M.O. as before and we have been trending downward. Moreover, our off-season recruiting has been less than impressive. To top it all off, all the western teams are demonstrably better- with the possible exception of the Edmonton Ungulates.
  23. With Geritol in the water bottles.
  24. My dad and step mom retired to Vancouver island years ago and the food scene there is not good at all. They'd kill for an Olive Garden on the island. A lot of people would. If they are smart they'll put one there. It would make a killing.
  25. Ottawa releases former Bomber 1st Round pick, Anthony Bennett. https://3downnation.com/2025/07/16/ottawa-redblacks-release-former-first-round-pick-anthony-bennett/
  26. well one things for sure I'm not sure there's room for one on my end, not unless they build one deep into Transcona (Henderson sounds more likely)
