Regina...

Seriously. This city should be wiped off the map. What a hole. We had to drive through it today on our way to Alberta. The light system they have is terrible. I waited to turn and the lights are waaaay too long. And when the lights finally do change, half the time people aren't paying attention and sit at the light until half the time is already wasted. And the way they drive makes me want to strangle them. I was this close to yelling BOMBERS RULE!!! as we drove away from anyone that wore a Riders jersey. Which was quite a few including one spot where they were doing some charity BBQ. I couldn't get out of that province fast enough.

Ok maybe it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be but I just needed to vent.

LOL

The best thing about Regina is the last set of lights on the east & west sides of town on Hwy 1.

I dated a girl from Regina for a long weekend back in 2003, left the house once to hit the Safeway. Dumped her Monday morning. Drove through a few times since. The Safeway was nice.

I have a long time friend who lives tnere so I've visited a couple of times. I do appreciate their ring road which should have been an inspiration to kenaston but wasn't. I don't mind Regina. Saskatoon is much nicer though.

I wouldn't write home about our infrastructure.

Want to really get under a Rider fan's skin? Start telling him how nice Saskatoon is, how fast it's growing, how that city deserves a CFL team sooner rather than later & watch the reaction. ;)

I had to stay in Regina when a family member was staying in the hospital there. Sadly I must say that compared to Portage, parts of Kenaston, and basically all of St James, Regina's roads might as well be paved with gold. The strange casino in a series of traincars was something else... and jeez, the 'Rider Pride' splattered everywhere... like vomit in the bathroom at a St Patrick's Day social, you couldn't touch a door handle without bumping or stepping into something green. Burger Baron was the highlight of the visit since my motel didn't have a pool.

I went up Lewvan Drive on the way back from the game yesterday. It was absolutely stupid. It was a 70-80 km/h road, but there were so many damn lights. And the pattern was bad too. Ended up hitting almost every red.

And everything seems to be way out on the other side of town. It took so bloody long just to find a place to get a cup of coffee!

Makes me glad I live in Saskatoon.

Haha, I didn't mean our drivers were fantastic. But these guys just seem like they're in a different world.

I like Regina a lot, just as much to do there as wpg, (except pro hockey), cleaner than wpg, and much easier to get around. Lots of great music, concerts, and so on, seems to be a very nice place.

Probably takes at least close to an hour to get from one side of wpg to the other, without any lights at all.

Depends completely on route, time and aggressiveness of driver.

It takes like fifteen minutes to get from one end of Regina to the other... I don't get this everything being so far on one end of town comment. I used to live in Thompson. There was this really nice housing development on the edge of town about ten minutes away from downtown. Right in the forest right along the Burntwood River. It was beautiful & picturesque. People wouldn't buy the homes. Not because of the prices but because it took ten freaking minutes to drive one way back & forth to work. It was just too far for the local yokels. I mean, really?

That's because Winnipeg is way bigger than Regina. In a city the size of Regina, things shouldn't be so remote.
