The TV Thread

Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

Anyone else into this?

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

House of Cards was tremendous.

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

Just finished watching Episode 6 of Tulsa King.

Don't like this season at all. Just cheesy writing.

By the time he leaves Paramount - Tulsa, Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness will all be done so there is that.

I'm sorry, but I saw a promo for this show where they are in space or something? And I can't get my head around the fact that anyone actually watches this.

Yeah they weren't pulling off a rescue or a call in space, one of the characters was given a chance to do one of those Millionaire Space visit thingies after the 118 saved the life of the guy (he was swallowed by a whale....I watch the show for the ridiculous incidents that warrant a 9-1-1 call) that owns this company that (I don't really remember what he did all I remember is he offered 5 mil to do this mostly as a publicity stunt to save his companies stocks and things went horribly wrong in space) yeah the multi episode season kick-offs can get out of this world (literally this season)

So recently I just finished giving the YTV Classic Reboot a re-watch it holds up pretty well. I don't know what impresses me more that this all happened a year before Toy Story or that they got Gillian Anderson to guest star as a Binome parody of Agent Scully

but beware, you may get nostalgic surges if you watch all this because there are commercials included here

The first NFLX series.

Indeed!

I am only going to say the following once because I don't want to say it again on Christmas and NYE when the next parts drop (Yes I'm referring to Stranger Things)

It's just a tv show
