It'll probably be Ian Wild but at this point, he's clearly no Parker and making his first career start. Bad news.

Parker was doing so well at linebacker, that is a real tough injury to take at this point in the season where we basically need the defense to be perfect to have a hope in hell of winning.

In his first few games, Parker was more involved in the play and in my mind actually better than Bowman ever was. Which is pretty unbelievable to me.

Parker and Dunn have both impressed. I'm especially surprised about Dunn, considering I was personally calling for him to be cut about 10 minutes into the first pre season game. I'll gladly eat crow on that one.

Dunn has been great as well but the difference is, we at least have Sears to take his place.

Parker is out for the season, at least 2 weeks for Dunn.

Well ****... that's no good

That is brutal on Parker, was playing really well.

Replacements for Parker, would Dexter Davis be a fit was looking he is actually a little lighter than Parker.

This blows.

I was wondering this as well. Davis seems like a pretty flexible guy you could plug in on the field, but I'd imagine Wild will be the first guy they look at.

Am I crazy or was Davis playing a bit like a linebacker at times in the hamilton game anyway? Is it possible he goes in the middle and Muamba to Parkers spot? Or do they just see if Wild can run with the job?

Either way it really sucks to lose a guy who was playing so well.

Who did we put in for Parker when he got hurt - Labbe?

Labbe played MLB and Henoc moved outside. Not ideal, but with the way we structure our roster, we kind of get screwed if the MLB or the WIL gets hurt.

That makes sense - Muamba plays the WIL spot pretty good anyways though right?

Not terribly. He still has trouble reading outside runs even in the middle and his coverage skills are not even close to the level as Parker, but I wouldn't call him a liability there.

I saw him blitzing from the MLB spot but that is it. for all we know he could have played there more, the TSN coverage is really quite bland. When they are talking about coffee mid touchdown run you can't expect them to be updating people on defensive substitutions.

Yeah that'll be where I saw him playing more of a LB type spot. Would really love to know more from the tv guys, they never even mentioned Parker being out at all which is par for the course for them. Can't stray from the script of jerking off one player or group on one team to do trivial things like update who's out of the game and who isn't.

The only clue I had that something was up was when I saw cauchy playing CB. At that point you have to assume Market is already playing Sam  or something to that effect and another starter is also hurt to move the safety.

To be honest Davis didn't look that comfortable.  I think he's pass rush specialist and he's just learning how to do that well in terms of getting upfield while holding his depth.  Henry schooled him quite a bit.

yeah  Running Hank didn't show up at all until the defense  suffered the injuries

Leg injuries to Winnipeg Blue Bomber Linebackers Terrell Parker and Dee-Zha Dunn are going to force the coaching staff to make 2 more changes to that outstanding defensive unit for Friday's game at Investors Group Field against Toronto. Johnny Sears is a good bet to be activated from the injured list for the game along with Ian Wild off the practise roster. More on the Bombers coming up tonight from 7-8pm on 680 CJOB with Head Coach Tim Burke.  Bombers have also announced more than 29 thousand tickets have been sold for Friday's game vs the defending Grey Cup Champs.

Good lord. lol

Shouldn't that be Mr. Dee-Zha?

Add Sears back to the list of wounded:

Burke also updated the club’s extensive injury situation. Nickelback Johnnie Sears, who hurt his foot Friday night in his first game back since a knee injury last season, will not play against Calgary.

Defensive tackle Bryant Turner, who’s missed two games already with strained chest ligaments, is questionable again for next week. "I thought he was going to be ready," said Burke, "but now it’s questionable."

Receiver Chris Matthews is also listed as questionable for the coming week.

Defensive tackle JT Gilmore is also likely to miss at least another week, as will slotback Cory Watson, who could be out as much as a month after pulling a hamstring last Wedensday. Nickelback Desia Dunn and longsnapper Chris Cvetokovic will also not play versus Calgary, said Burke.

On the upside, all-star receiver Terrence Edwards is likely to be back for the Calgary game, while receiver Kito Poblah is finally expected to begin practising again this coming week.
